I never really had any problems with my older relatives...that we interact with. Still doesn't change the fact that I look forward to living by myself one day no matter how much I love them.

Also, don't bother messaging anyone with bad grammar or who types out their e-mail with a "(dot)" in their "you should message me" section. They're probably stupid, lazy, a spammer, or I don't even know what else.

There is also a useful phenomenon to improve your messaging skills. When you send a message and the girl visits your profile without replying, it shows that your message is not horrible, and your profile picture looks passable at least as a thumbnail. XD

People's success on OKC or other online dating services is always gonna be mixed. My brother met his current boyfriend through a dating app and I believe Solip Schism found his current partner through similar means, while a number of members here like Volatile Chills and 0dd were at it for years and found no success whatsoever.
