Sy Fy made a film about tornadoes. With sharks in them. Attacking people. I'm not making this up.

I have yet to see the full film, but I have to because this needs a Tropes page.

[up]Yes.

The movie premiered already on Sy Fy, and apparently everybody on Twitter went nuts for it (even Mia Farrow tweeted about it).

Also, cutting through a shark with chainsaw.

I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.

Reposting from the Asylum thread.

So this scene needs to be in Sharknado.

Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever: Listen, Mr. Mayor, lives are in danger!

Mr. Mayor: What would you have me do?

Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever: You have to close down the city of Los Angeles.

Mr. Mayor: Close down Los Angeles? Are you crazy? Do you know how much revenue the city of Los Angeles would lose if I closed down Los Angeles for even a day? Why, thousands... no, HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars. Who's to say that this isn't just some ordinary tornado, anyways?

(Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever slams a pile of cow bones on Mr. Mayor's table)

Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever: This used to be a cow. I saw it sucked up into the tornado when it hit the coast down south. These bones are what came out. Something ate that cow. Something in the tornado. Something... not human.

Mr. Mayor: So what? Cows get eaten all the time! Haven't you ever been to a White Castle?

Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever: There are no White Castles in tornadoes. Or anywhere else in California.

Mr. Mayor: All right. So this tornado stripped the flesh off of a cow's bones. It could be anything. Maybe it sucked up a crate full of steak knives at the same time as the cow. But there's no evidence of a threat sufficient enough to warrant shutting down all of Los Angeles. Get out of my office!

Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever: If you won't do anything, then I will.

(Heroic sheriff/scientist/whatever cocks a random shotgun he just happened to have with him and storms out of the Mayor's office).

A fistful of me.

When I saw the thread name, I thought it was going to be a sequel to Sharktopus.

I wish I could have seen it. This movie looks so campy and ridiculous it had to be worth watching.

This is what Narm: The Movie should be. Explosions solve everything, death is random and unimportant soon forgotten about, and no one questions why every shark in the damn ocean is in L.A.

This seems like an appropiate use of CG.

They should've worked out the practical effects for this. How much can a few tornado watchers with pickup trucks full of live sharks cost?

I don't really get the sudden hype. In the end, it's another Asylum movie. One of the better ones, for sure - up there with Nazis from the Center of the Earth - but it certainly won't start to turn people into juggalos.

[up][up][up] I suppose it's just because the premise is so absurd.

[up][up]

Last Fourth of July, teenager Christy Bruce disappeared from a high school beach party. Her severed arm washed ashore a day later. Drunken sea captain Blaise Shaw became a hero to the small seaside community of Harmony after killing the great white shark that was deemed responsible, but the Christy Bruce murder was no shark attack. Blaise turns to ghost hunter Ava Conte, who is skeptical but intrigued by his ghost shark ramblings. With preparations for a massive July 4th celebration rapidly approaching, they soon find themselves embroiled in a conspiracy of sex and murder involving the town's wealthiest and most powerful citizens. Unprepared to contend with a Ghost Shark that can hunt on land, sea, as well as anywhere there is enough water or rain to sustain its phantom form, Blaise and Ava must uncover the truth about the towns dark past or fall victim to the Ghost Shark.
