Well, he's got the suit, even if it isn't white, and the vest, and the tie... Although calling him a "gentleman" is disputable, since he's such a despicable bastard.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Dead perfect.
The suggestion is an improvement.
Also, that trope description is beautiful.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Echo.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe suggestion looks better than the current.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.+1 for the suggestion. One or two more votes for the OP and we can run with it.

How about this one? Don Johnson as Big Daddy Spencer Bennett (Django Unchained):
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
That one screams "US Southener" to me much more to me than the other suggestion.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Honestly, how could we have gotten this far into the thread without mention ofColonel Sanders; perhaps the quintessential Southern Gentleman in my book. [1]◊
In the pic, we've got the white suit, the ribbon bow tie, the cane, the goatee, and even the Bible for good measure. Plus, the added benefit that he's an ACTUAL Southern Gentleman, as opposed to an actor playing one.

I much prefer #9. I think it's the hat.
Check out my fanfiction! The hat and the facial hair make it. +1 for Maddy's suggestion.
Panhandling sign glued to hands. Need $5 for solvent.9 is great. I like that it's from something.
I switch my vote to Maddy's. I also consider it nicer than 11 because there isn't such potential overlap with Fat, Sweaty Southerner in a White Suit and because of the hat.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.for @9.
@1 and current would be great for ImageLinks.Southern Gentleman.

I also switch my vote to number nine.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Changing my vote to Maddy's suggestion. That's enough of a consensus for it; I'll put it up in a sec.
EDIT: Done, potholed, and tagged. I culled the old caption; do we want to keep it, come up with something new, or go without?

Three things to say: It works without a caption. I don't like the old one. I'm open for a good one.
Check out my fanfiction! The old one may have fit the character of the old picture, but it adds nothing, and could be confusing, since it implies that villainy is necessary to the trope.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.X Fllo said that 1 and current (now previous) would be great for ImageLinks.Southern Gentleman. Does anyone else agree?
yes.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it., Done.
He's definitely a gentleman but I see nothing to indicate that he's southern. The description lists plenty of possibilities, most obvious would be a white suit. (His might be southern but one wouldn't know unless one is very familiar with suits.) He could be drinking mint julep (Do they drink coconut juice in the south?), smoking a pipe, gambling, or look like he's on a plantation. I found this◊ as an alternative.
