Does Not Illustrate: Mascot Fighter

The page description states that this is not a fighting game with crossover characters, but the image implies that it is. Additionally, it does not illustrate what the trope really is about (a Fighting Game with Platform Game elements). I suggest a screenshot of gameplay from Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a replacement image.

And yet the current image was chosen in a previous IP.

Anyways..

Laconic: Mascot Fighter Part platformer, part 2-D fighter, part Massive Multiplayer Crossover.

Ehh, I think the trope should be mended up and repaired with a better name to enforce the platforming, fighting crossover requirements of this trope before a new image is picked for it.

Previous thread. The old thread decided to keep the pic for its humor factor, and I honestly prefer this to any pic that plays the trope straight.

[up] Page quote:

Note: Just because it's a crossover fighting game does not necessarily mean it's a Mascot Fighter. The distinction is in the gameplay. (For an example, compare the mechanics of Super Smash Bros. to the Capcom Vs. series).

Even though the picture's witty, it may fool people who go to have a quick look on the page, see the image and think it's literally about "a game involving mascots" without reading the description which says that what makes it a Mascot Fighter is the gameplay and not a game involving mascots

I still think this image is actively misleading.

The Problem with Licensed Games doesn't have an image... could it be moved there?

No, because it would be Just A Game And A Caption

You got Fast Eddie approving of the picture. I don't think you can fight that.

Like I said, if anything, the "Mascot" part of the trope's name seems to be misleading. If anything, it needs to be repaired and renamed to something that enforces it's laconic.

I've got no issue one way or the other on this though. I like the picture.

His post was a bit too ambiguous for me to see what he was talking about. I do not think the current image needs changing, by the way.

Renaming it would be TRS job.

You can, but you have to be pretty well prepared for the task at hand.

For the record, I asked Eddie to weigh in on this because I know he likes pics to be funny whenever they can be.
