I don't feel like outright calling it a bad image, but I don't know if readers can recognize it clearly enough as the last issue. It does have "Final Issue" written on it, but in possibly too small a font. The picture also relies heavily on familiarity with the first Nintendo Power issue, but at least the person who put the picture there linked to the old cover.

Keep Until Better Image Suggested, although to be honest, I was thinking a curtain closing call or something. (We probably have a trope for that, though...)

Very, very weak, and relies on the caption for the connection...gonna lean toward pulling it.

It does technically say "Final Issue" on the left, but it's not very noticeable. This should be pulled.

The celebration scene from Return of the Jedi comes to mind.

How would we make it clear that scene ended the trilogy?

Here's a final issue of some magazine I've never heard of that demonstrates it pretty well or a more familiar Uncanny X-men cover.

Is that really an example, News Of The World?

First things first: thanks for starting an IP thread before changing the image. Maybe I've been a bit harsh about it, but pulling my pics without IP threads was a common occurrence before - and if I were to do that myself, I'd get suspended for sure.

Aside from this speech about equality, I have to say why I picked the NP cover. Despite my nationality not matching that of the magazine's intended audience, just coming across an image of the cover gave me the same feeling of closure everyone correctly predicted the final issue would have. I could relate a lot to everyone who knew they'd miss the magazine, which is why I instantly thought of the Grand Finale article. Among other things, the cover (yeah, it needs a bit of context, I can give you that) has a strong Tear Jerker effect to it, exactly as most GFs do.

That said, if you want to pick a good image to replace mine, I can't seem to be able to come up with a good example, but anything between the climax and the ending credits from any Grand Finale should work. Maybe something like the heroes standing in front of the defeated villain, as the sun rises. Sure, "heroes standing and fallen villain" is a bit of a spoiler for anything, but as long as it gives a feeling of closure, it should work. Either that or the heroes walking, running, or, even better, driving or riding a bike into the distance, again as the sun rises. It should work either way.

[EDIT: That News Of The World cover reminds me of another newspaper that did the same thing, but it was a more famous one, did it in less words, and it showed the trope better. I can't recall its title though, can anyone help?]

The way you refer to the image as yours makes me want to replace it. But I think it works as it is. Not a great image, but it works. And if you think you'd get suspended for something other people wouldn't, I think that'd only happen if you've been behaving worse than those people, which is the bed you made.

[down]It's not about jerkassery, just plain implied ownership. It's like saying an example is yours just because you added it.

[up] "Mine" meaning I'm the uploader, of course. No jerkassery intended when describing the pic as "mine".

[EDIT: Holy crow guys, look what I found! Promotional artwork for the Series Finale of House. Not only it's non-spoilery, but it gives a sense of closure as well. Can we use this one? (Just a suggestion, of course.)]

[EDIT II: Alternate link. Although this doesn't work as well as the previous one, because the words "The End" aren't in the picture. That, alongside the broken cane, are what made the previous suggestion a viable choice.]

[EDIT III: [up] I didn't mean to imply ownership either, just stated I'm the one who uploaded it. That's why we, the Tropers, are referred to as "contributors" - everyone adds his or her contribution, as you do whenever you add anything. It's how a wiki works. I'm sorry, either way.]

[up] That first House pic could work. The second one doesn't convey enough info if you're not familiar with the show...he might just really hate that cane.

[up] Glad you like it. And I still hope not to have been mistaken for a Jerkass after saying "mine" (yeah, I'm still worried about it, due to lack of feedback in that regard).

I'd be okay with a swap to the House image with him breaking a cane.
