Eddy gets a lot of karmic punishment and then some, so it's understandable why fans would tolerate him not having even more suffering piled upon him. Some go as far as to kind of considering him a Jerkass Woobie.
Jimmy, though having Bitch in Sheep's Clothing moments, arguably gets away with the least amount of crap out of all the other kids in the show, and is the second most prominant Butt-Monkey after the Eds. Similar to Eddy when he isn't being an ass, you usually end up feeling sorry for him. Also much like some others like Jonny, when not paired with Sarah, he also has moments where he naively trusts or is willing to befriend the Eds, making his vengence on them more karmic when they don't return the respect.
Characters like Sarah and Kevin seem to be garner more bile due to not only being assholes, but usually getting away with it scot free outside a few notable exceptions. From what I know a good few do hate Eddy's Flanderization, but the abuse he takes gives him at least ineffectual sympathy (and the movie redeemed him a little).

I don't think I ever remember feeling sorry for Jimmy.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I understand now. I hated Eddy's Flanderization. Eddy always suffered Yank the Dog's Chain with his scams, but he did deserve it sometimes. I'm also surprised that the Kankers weren't Scrappies either.

The key thing to remember about The Scrappy is that everyone must hate the character. Of course, this is the Internet, so it's impossible to know if everyone hates the character or not.
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!I'd say it must be considered an "A solid wide majority of fandom hates the character", since it's impossible to get an absolute Zero Approval Rating in real life.
I thought Jimmy was a scrappy after "If It Smells Like An Ed".
Eddy gets a pass because karma always comes back to bite him, like it (usually) does for Cartman.
I also wonder why the Kankers aren't Scrappies since they, along with Sarah, are good examples of the double standard abuse that males receive from females. I bet they get a lot of hate from a few fans for sexually harassing and raping the Eds.

Maybe because, in some skewed way, the Kankers played around with the Eds because they genuinely liked them. Sarah on the other hand, was just a manipulative sadist that liked bullying around her sweet older brother.

Yeah I guess. Plus, Danny said that the Kankers were based on teenage girls he attended school with. I wasn't surprised when I found out Sarah was a scrappy.

Actually, from what I recall, the Kankers have a very sizable fanbase, especially in the fan-art and shipping community. If anything they are, shockingly enough as it sounds, Ensemble Darkhorses

Stella ~Part 3 (Atelier Shallie)I hated the Kankers. They were such cruel people, always ruining whatever had gone right for the Eds. Just sadistic.
Kevin was a complete jerk who never got any comeuppance for it, Jimmy was really annoying.
Rowlf is best character after the Eds. Then it's Plank.
If you want any of my avatars, just Pm me I'd truly appreciate any avatar of a reptile sleeping in a Nice Hat Read Elmer Kelton booksAdmitedly as the show evolved, most of the characters weren't really meant to be likeable. It was a G rated Sadist Show.
Rowlf was usually nice to the Eds in the cases where they didn't scam him first.
Not a total sadist show.

It's a Rule of Funny situation, much like other Sadist Shows.

I think we had a peek into Jimmy's future in the episode where he asked "Am I a good fluffer, Sarah?" That was some crap I could NOT believe they got past the radar.
Well, time moves forward.
Because farmers are corrupt, but bandits are corrupt, and samurai are corrupt; why would anyone risk their lives for anyone? - KikuchiyoNo offense, but what was the point of that??
I have to agree with Psi on the fact some people feel sorry for Eddy, what with all the crap he gets from his older brother.
I don’t even know anymore. The kankers never bothered me because they seemed to be a force of nature more than actual characters: they're like an environmental hazard in a video game, and everyone in the neighborhood seems equally terrified of them.
As others have said, the only characters who got away with everything were Kevin and Sarah, and even they had a few moments of retribution (why i loved the "See no Ed" episode, where Kevin defeated himself purely out of his own paranoia of the Eds)
Granted, most forces of nature don't sexually harass you.

I mean shouldn't Eddy and Jimmy count? I noticed that Eddy gets a lot of hate along with Sarah and Kevin for his greedy jerkass ways and a lot of fans don't like Jimmy either because he cries, whines, gets injured easily and he framed the Eds because Eddy gave him a wedgie (not that I dislike Jimmy)?
Please don't take this as complaining.
