A new Lupin III series is coming out! It is set in Italy (where the show will premiere first) and Lupin will have a BLUE jacket this time!

Ok, finally finished Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. I have one doubt.
Considering his name, is Luis Yu Almeida a Portuguese or a Macanese (as in, from Macau) character?
Anyone here like Farewell To Nostradamus? I do, mostly because of the animation by Studio Telecom (where all the good animation of TMS comes from). You can tell they were working on Tiny Toons and Batman The Animated Series at that time.

Nothing has been translated to English that would give me convincing evidence for any specific nationality. If I was asked to guess, I'd tell you he was German, due to the surrounding situations. Keep in mind that Fujiko Mine technically isn't Japanese. She's just Fujiko (any nationality). (And yes, similar applies to Jigen )
Farewell to Nostradamus is a lot of fun to watch, although the specific style chosen feels Off-Model to me. The art and animation is still solid, and I like the cartoon physics used.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.A fair point. Still, I think Luis Yu Almeida might have moved to that land with a German-sounding name in order to continue his secret experiments, since that land is located in a cold/mountain-like environment, hence my theory about him being Portuguese or Macanese. The name is very Portuguese.
the only lupin anything i have ever seen is woman called fujiko mine
i loved it, though sadly i think i won't be able to enjoy other lupin works as much since the raunchy/seinen-ness of it was a huge part of my enjoyment
i'll probably watch castle of cagliostro eventually though since ghibli and all
Next thing for you to watch is the Lupin III (Green Jacket) series. The Shonen elements introduced by Miyazaki, instead of being imitated by other writers. After you finish that, Lupin III (Red Jacket) would probably still be Seinin enough.
Out of the movies, the one most true to the original tone is The Mystery of Mamo. I don't recall any other films that would be less Shonen-demographic than Seinin-demographic.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here. When we make the page for the Live Action film from this year, what name should we put it under? The Other Wiki uses Lupin III (film). Typical naming on this site would make it Lupin III (2014).
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. That or could put Blue Jacket series, to remain consistent with the other. Either one sounds fine to me.

Improving as an author, one video at a time. No, this year's live action film is not going to be labeled with the same name as next year's series.
That's even assuming the new series doesn't get an officially English translated name other than Lupin III. Which, I admit, is quite probable.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.So interesting.... Lupin III From Russia With Love is getting released under a new name: Lupin III Bank Of Liberty.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Working on developing a page for the Jigen Daisuke film, made a YKTTW to discuss it: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=pyax8kdk476owrmo0e5desbj
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Wouldn't it be better to put it in the Sandbox? Also, I still gotta check it out.

The page has been launched, under Gravestone of Daisuke Jigen. Remember to Cross Wick when you add tropes!

Discotek Media is doing a DUB!!
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I admire that for Goemon, Fujiko and Zenigata, TMS replaced the retiring voice acting legends with younger voice acting legends. Goemon got Daisuke Namikawa (Italy from Axis Powers Hetalia), Fujiko got Miyuki Sawashiro (Twilight Sparkle from the Japanese dub of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic) and Zenigata got Koichi Yamadera (in his early 50s but still...).
Bump.
A episode of NHK Gendai showed the making of the new anime. (skip to 10 minutes)
It seems they are actually doing their homework on this since at one point, we see a computer that had pictures of an Italian landmark I am not familiar with on the left side of the screen while a CG model they had created of that landmark (possibly to help with layout and storyboards) was on the right side. Also, the animation clips they showed looked really good.
Update on the From Russia With Love issue: http://www.lupinencyclopedia.com/forums/index.php/topic,3358.15.html
The DVD will be released as Lupin III: From Siberia With Love, an interesting compromise.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.I wonder if the owners of the Bond franchise persuaded Discotek to change the name...
They're active when it comes to enforcing their IP, so the need to change the name was based on their reputation.

The first episode will be broadcast some time in May, and the Japanese release (NTV, naturally) will be at an unspecified time in the fall.

Based on the page, "harm" seems to be defined as "kill", so yeah, the Lupin crew definitely applies. :)
