Is this trope a duplicate of Awesomeness Is Volatile?
Pretty much, with a significantly worse name.
^^Doesn't seem to be, but it also doesn't seem like much of a trope. Awesomeness Is Volatile: Awesome things explode. Pure Awesomeness: They are like totally awesome. They just are.

World's Toughest MilkmanMeh, we've got enough pages on subjective awesomeness. We don't need to start trying to classify it by degrees of purity!
"Existential Despair" is an oxymoron.
I've seen this used in a manner similar to Battle Aura.
I think the correct question here is whether Awesomeness Is Volatile is a duplicate of this. Let's think about it: Pure Awesomeness is a thing or a character made of Awesome. Awesomeness Is Volatile is Pure Awesomeness causing explosions. Clearly Awesomeness Is Volatile is the case of The Same but More of this trope, and not the other way around.

No. Awesome Is Volatile is a case of awesomeness causing explosions. Literally causing explosions. This trope is just "Awesome." Awesome Is Volatile is no more The Same but More of this trope than Every Car Is a Pinto the The Same but More of Car.
No, the other one.My suggestion: One, all examples that are Awesomeness Is Volatile can go there. No need to be on both pages. Two, remove all examples not about something In-Universe being awesome enough to affect things. Perhaps with a lampshade requirement or something, to avoid tropers just attributing awesome where there are other In-Universe explanations. This includes the Real Life section.

No, you're wrong. Pure Awesomeness is when something/someone is so Awesome, that it's/his/her awesomeness has an any kind of, in-universe effect on others around, such the Trope Namer Kung Fu Panda dream sequence, where the level of awesomeness blinded the foes, or the One Piece example of Congueror Haki. In the case of Awesomeness Is Volatile, the explosion is the specific effect of the awesomeness, just like Luffy using his Awesomeness/Haki has the effect of knocking out the weaker willed around him. Tus The Same but More, or The Same but More Specific, depending on whether you count the explosion as Up to Eleven, or simply as a specified effect. I ran over the examples on both page, and haven't found a single one that listed on both.

Okay you're right, I did say I just ran over them...However I don't get what Kung Fu Panda is even doing over there? I'd understand if it was in relation to the Wuxi Finger hold, but like this...But that's beside the point. The real point is, it's Awesomeness Is Volatile that needs a TRSD, and not this trope.

Death by Yuyuko MoenessThat means we should also start a image picking thread along with.
Shouldn't this be named Awesome Presence? The current name is rather ambiguous.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.
someoneLooking at an archive, the page was about how "awesomeness" allows a character to noticeably affect people simply by their presence (such as that Kung Fu Panda thing about the legendary warrior who blinded people without needing to do anything). Still is, but the description doesn't emphasize the whole "noticeable effect without doing anything at all" requirement very much. A few examples look terribly shoehorned:
Prussia from Axis Powers Hetalia seems to only think that he's too awesome. Though given his Blood Knight tendencies and refusal to die despite not technically being a country anymore, it's not entirely groundless.uh, no mention of the whole "causes tangible harm through their presence" thing whatsoever. Looks as if whomever added this didn't read the description.
In Billy Vs SNAKEMAN, if a player manages to obtain trophies (ranging in difficulty from completing low-level plotlines to beating an insanely difficult, once a week minigame eleven times), Awesome points are given out which can be spent on bonus abilities. Also, certain levels of awesome are required for some quests.Again, no mention of the "tangible physical effect" thing. Actually, looks like whomever added this just did so because the word "awesome" was used in the work.
In A Very Potter Sequel, Future!Draco describes time travel as being so awesome, you'll shit your pants. Ron actually does.Uh, hello, this is about characters, not an activity. Yeah, some of the examples look like people are just using this as a dumping ground for "X is awesome!!11!" instead of "character is so awesome that their mere presence causes tangible physical effect".

"Your presence has a tangible physical effect" has overlap with Killing Intent.
Killing Intent is more like an inversion of Pure Awesomeness. It's not the character's presence that has an effect on others, but the others are sensing the danger he means.
The Final ECW ChampionSo, if anything, awesomeness is volatile is the subtrope that should get merged into this one. To be honest though, they are not the same thing and neither one is subjective. If an example does not work, remove it, the end.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack
Swirl Swirl Red WhirlThe whole trop smells of "excuse for gushing and fapping". Awesomeness Is Volatile is already enough in my view. Or rename it to something more appopriate such as Awesomeness Is Hormonal.
Well they don't look like the same trope, but I'm not convinced Pure Awesomeness is a trope at all. Those Exalted examples are wrong (one's Battle Aura and Rule of Cool, the other is just people using dangerous magic that destroys stuff).

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.
Puʻu ʻŌʻōI think that That Human's idea is worthwhile, but that the current page can safely be cut. I have difficulty at working out what ti is supposed to be, honestly.
Puʻu ʻŌʻōWith only 139 wicks, "tightening up" is certainly an option (although I would ask for a definition in any case). Other options are cut or Sugar Wiki-fying.
Seeking for LightI also think that That Human's idea has merit.
