Shortest: "Der rufet den Elias", Movt. "61b" from J.S. Bach's St Matthew Passion as recorded in 1993 by the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra under Ton Koopman, 3 seconds. (There are several other "movements" on that recording which last under 10 seconds thanks to its somewhat eccentric way of splitting the recitative passages into tracks on the CDs.)

Longest: Symphony No.22 in B minor (in one movement), "Symphony-Ballade", by Nikolay Myaskovsky as recorded by the USSR Symphony Orchestra under Evgeny Svetlanov, 36 minutes 23 seconds. (Longest that I listen to regularly: the fifth (and last) movement of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No.2 in C minor, "Resurrection", as recorded by the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1963 under Otto Klemperer, 34 minutes 6 seconds.)

Longest track is the entirety of Kid A inexplicably saved as a single track, meaning I have at least 3 copies of that album on my computer...

Longest individual song is 'Atom Heart Mother' by Pink Floyd at 23:44, although individual pieces of music split out over multiple tracks can run to longer length's, such as the Lush medley on Orbital's Brown Album at 28:43.

The shortest track is the 'Windows Notification Sound' at 0:01, but the shortest actual song is 'pycagfdthedelic', composed and performed by me at 0:10. The shortest song by someone other than me is 'Stop' by Pink Floyd at 0:30.

In my Library the shortest track would be "Orpheus" by Milo Greene (O:28), but if I'd only count actual songs instead of interludes or intros, the title would go to "Fairytale" by Gamma Ray (0:49). The longest one is X Japan's "Art of Life" (29:00)

The longest song in my library is "Who Knows" by the Zac Brown Band, an epic hurricane of vocals and instrumentals clocking in somewhere around twelve minutes. The shortest is "Septuacentennial" from Thomas Newman's score to WALL-E, which is seventeen seconds long. They're a fun seventeen seconds, though.

Shortest: BV 3 by Bran Van 3000 (53 seconds) Longest: Rock Star (12:36 I think) only because the Itunes version has a remixed version of Astounded by Curtis Mayfield at the end of it.

I bought a Herbie Hancock CD with tracks up to (and exceeding) 30 minutes.

Shortest track I think is "Avalanche Rock" by The Avalanches, clocking in at about 20 seconds.

Longest — Carbon Freeze / Luke Pursues the Captives / Departure of Boba Fett at 11:13.

Shortest — "Don't Sit Down" by David Bowie at 0:43.

Longest is either DT's live performance of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence at 41 minutes or Swans' The Seer at 32 minutes, depending on if you call playing a whole album as a song.

Shortest is Napalm Death's You Suffer which is exactly 1 second long.

Shortest: 20th Century Fox Fanfare- 23 seconds, from the Star Wars A New Hope Soundtrack Longest: Binary Sunset (Alternate)- 17 minutes, from the Star Wars A New Hope Soundtrack

Though I'm not sure I should count Binary Sunset (Alternate) as it has a fairly large gap of silence in it before going on to be a recording of different takes. Second longest is the Battle of Hoth(14:48), second shortest is a tie between To Boldly Go from the 2009 Star Trek and Movement from Halo 3 (0:27).

Shortest has to be "Armour Piercing Projectiles" by Buckethead - 00:44.

The longest I have is "Grendel" by Marillion - 19:10.
