My internet circles are very small. But I would suggest that no, spelling isn't getting worse.
Maybe I just hang out with the smart people.

Oh, hai tropers.
I do think kids aren't paying enough attention to the way they write on the internet. Of course, some people who mispell things end up learning naturally over their time on the internet (such as myself), but there are a fair few people who simply don't learn. I'm not talking about foreign people who didn't grow up with english, I can understand how difficult it is to learn a second language; i'm talking about the illiterate 20-something year olds who seriously have nothing better to do than update their Facebook while driving, and the 13 year olds writing awful fanfiction and writing comments on EVERYTHING either asking a question about something answered in the frigging title or saying it's "SOOOOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!".
It sucks to be a grammar nazi.
For being a Grammar Nazi, you sure made a lot of mistakes in that post.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. One misspelling and three words lacking capitalization, I'm afraid. It could do with another comma or two, one comma replaced with an em-dash, and only one occurrence of "writing" in the context of 13-year-olds. The phrase in parentheses would fit better after "people" than "internet". It would also be more common to say "20-somethings" than "20-something year olds".
Topic: People are also less likely to proofread on the internet, as conversations move fast and you don't get marked on stuff. Sheora was kind enough recently to go through and pick up my typos on Ears For Elves and its subpages. I had thought it was pretty good and all it needed was Americanizing; turns out I had done things like spelling "accidentally" with one L.

If you think kids these days are bad at spelling online, you should see them trying to write by hand.
My God, it's like watching a parrot trying to figure what a pen is for.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.I could of typed this correctly, but that would take a lot of work too get, right.
Eye steel tinc its allwaiz bin tiss... bad.
God damn it. Why is "bad" so hard to think up incorrect spellings for?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Because we do not think that way,we are still decent spellers and we love it that way, just like parents love their kids as human beans
Ugh stupid The Room references.
Original Post: Heck yes.
The English language degrades more and more each year.

I ask this because I've noticed how on the Internet, there are a number of instances of words being misspelled. Some of it is deliberate, I know. But there are some that I could swear is not deliberate.
I can understand that a number of people on the Internet do not speak or write English as their native language. But when native English speakers make mistakes like this...well, it makes me wonder if the school system needs improvement in that area!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!
