Animeg, if that's true, Sakura Gari should get a pass - it really does sound like the same situation we had with both Lolita and Mysterious Skin, which did get a pass despite similarly controversial content, because it's damn obvious that it's not encouraging or glorifying child sex abuse but portraying it as the fucked-up, damaging experience it is.
I'm not 5P but per precedent (that Played for Drama + Deliberate Values Dissonance + a disturbing context that makes abundantly clear it is not something to be celebrated or masturbated over = generally OK) I'd say it should be allowed.

?Well, it is available online. It seems like a psychological horror story to me, but I'm familar with shoujo manga, so it just seems to be a darker version of the 'everyone was abused as kids' story . I am not sure of the audience. It was written by the author of Fushigi Yuugi
Apparently it was in 'Rinka' a josei title. Josei is an older age bracket than shoujo. Adult women read it.

@Komodin Re: Kanokon
I can take a look at the anime/manga in the morning. Been away from the thread for a bit.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenNever thought I'd see the day.
Leisure Suit Larry has been thrown on the flaglist.

Isn't that one kinda main stream?
I hope it's trolling, but on the other hand, rules are rules, mainstream or no.
and now I'll have to ask the wiki if we need a mother daughter love triangle trope (to replace mother daughter threesome- more romance, less sex)

@3492: That sounds good, but (as Pyrite said) sexualizing a character who's been around for 25 years and looks it but is mentally 5, well... And been around 25 years, acts like it, but is physically 5 is also squicky, though (to me) a bit less so.
I'm inclined to say that if the character looks like an adult (or at least an older teenager) and is that age mentally, it doesn't matter how old they literally are, which in analogous Real Life situations is little more than a surrogate for those two things anyway
The child is father to the man —OedipusWell, in Real Life a mentally disabled person(having the personality and intellect of a child) still has the right to marry, unless otherwise denied by a guardian.
^ Depending on country, mind.
Still, there is one detail on Yoiko I find myself wondering about. Exactly what should it be cut for? I haven't seen the 5P guidelines in a while, but I can not see how this would fall under "paedo-pandering" when the main character does not look like a child. I know that the 5P Guidelines are stated to be such, to avoid Rule Lawyering, yet some lawyering I feel is necessary at times.
So, for current but also future discussions, exactly what will be the grounds for cutting Yoiko? What rule has it broken?

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Never read it, but the argument being presented is that the main character, while physically mature, is explicitly not chronologically or mentally enough for the kind of explicit content being portrayed, even with the fantastic justifications (or lack thereof).
Again, it really boils down to the degree and quantity of objectionable content in the work.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Other then Love for Sail and the infamous Magna Cum Laude (which nobody wanted), the series is largely a comedy series with loads of fanservice (nudity only being prominent in the two mentioned above) I think it should at least be cleaned.
"Pancakes. Oh, I blew it." - Joel Hodgson Nobody better lay a Butterfinger on my 3DS!Making coffee, will begin with Kanokon shortly.
Preliminary report:
- Manga ran in seinen magazine Disclaimer: Disputed
- Crunchyroll flags for mature audiences
- Licensed by Seven Seas (Light novels *) and Anime Works (anime)
It's a click-through message with the usual mature content warning, but that's what I have been calling it. You actually can't watch it w/o an account.

Now going by plain old "Silverfire".Update re: Kanokon ep. 2
First red flag: the guy (yes, guy) looks like he's in middle school. The female lead is rather blatantly trying to seduce him.
Update the second: the guy and girl have a couple scenes that border on Double Standard Rape: Female on Male. She is wearing nothing but panties (with Godiva Hair) in one of them. Why do I not have whiskey for my coffee?
Update the third: Enter new girl who looks like a middle schooler. Bath scene involving her, male lead, and other girl. Both are naked. Sans Barbie Doll Anatomy. And now I'm drinking before 11 AM. Godfuckingdamnit.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenFrom that I remember, the nudity in Love For Sail could only be accessed through Guide Dang It! types of Easter Eggs. I'm pretty sure my siblings and I didn't encounter any when we played it, and only learned it had nudity when looking through the internet.
Are you reading the manga or watching the anime?
Or reading the light novel, but I'm guessing that that's not the case here.

Update Re: Kanokon ep. 5:
Opens with Panty Shot. Have some taste, will ya?
Update the second: Shockingly, nothing major to report (apart from first girl blatantly lusting after middle-school-looking guy) by virtue of having a bracelet that will kill him if he starts having dirty thoughts. Please kill him and end this steaming pile.
I don't doubt that.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenTrust me, it's gonna get a wee bit worse than that...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Update Re: Kanokon ep. 11:
Why another effing beach episode? How is it statistically probable that I always manage to pick the stupid goddamned beach episode?
Update the second: Oh for fuck's sake, the middle school-looking girl just puts bandaids on over her nipples and genitalia instead of an actual swimsuit.
Update the third: Exposed boobs from the older girl. Further comments withheld for language.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenI think Leisure Suit Larry is okay based on us approving stuff like Oglaf. It's sex comedy, not anything meant to be used for jacking (or jilling) off.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Verdict Re: Kanokon:
Cutlist
Reasoning:
- Excuse Plot
- Blatant sexualization of girl who looks rather underage (noted here and here)
- Lack of Barbie Doll Anatomy on both main girl and middle-school-looking girl
- Seinen demographic Disclaimer: Disputed
There's no way around this. This pedo-panders. And is utterly god-awful on a general quality level.
Don't know. Haven't seen the manga, but (as much as I will regret saying this) I will take a look.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenThe anime is apparently the worst of the adaptations in that respect. Is it possible to keep a page on just the manga or something?
The Other Wiki states that the main character is a first-year high-school student. I think you might've underestimated his age a little.
Also, I've started on the manga. First volume: Some nudity with Barbie Doll Anatomy, highschoolers, nothing explicit. Needs further investigation, am leaning towards keeping (for now). And yes, it has a plot.
