Vague Age being its own thing, I'm not sure how Suspiciously Vague Age fits into that. Sounds like the perverted cousin to that trope, if you ask me, and not worth doing anything about. Unless someone has some other ideas on how to proceed that I'm not seeing...

... Wait, since when did we have Naked Shotaro Boy as a trope? I don't remember ever seeing that one.

I'd be fine without having that article. I want to tell people who made that article to take a seat.

Looking at that old page, most of the old Naked Shotaro Boy examples (the ones that aren't ZCE, there are a few) are either stuff that could be merged under a single Innocent Indecency trope, or falls under Naked People Are Funny.

Either way, that trope is not coming back under that name. There's no real point.

Yeah, especially with the gratuitous "Shotaro" qualifier. That just screams "appeal to people who get off on naked boys".

Yeah, Shotaro bring to mind "Shotacon", the gender-flipped counterpart to Lolicon and we really don't need to deal with the baggage pertaining to that term again.

And it also doesn't have a Calvin & Hobbes example. That's proof that they had a perverse agenda, because naked Calvin wasn't "cute" enough for that page. tongue

In actual seriousness, the gag I'm thinking of where Calvin was running around naked ("You handle it. I got the little nudist out of her birdbath, remember?") would just fall under Naked People Are Funny. Remind me to add that to that page later.

@Adannor: Huh. Must have been made during the time when giving Japanese names to tropes (even if they were not Japanese-specific or are popularly associated with Japanese media for one reason or the other) was the rage.

Most of the "innocent" examples of kids being naked would be either Naked People Are Funny or nudity simply not having any significance whatsoever. I see no reason to restore or set up a page to track it, and many reasons not to give even the hint of an appearance that we are trying to create a handy guide to naked kids in media.

Naked Shotaro Boy was just a list of naked underage boys. I know the person who created it squee'd gleefully that they'd done it. And it was a snowclone name of Cute Shotaro Boy, which is now renamed Adorably Precocious Child.

I also wanna note that Naked Shotaro Boy is a Dead Horse Trope now, you can't do it anywhere now. Even Japanese tv censors that, even reairing classic stuff like Dragon Ball Z Kai.

Eiyuu Senki got an official English release with no sexual content. Should be okay to restore it.

Or, well, the page was a stub anyway and it wasn't locked for some reason, but the decision at least could probably be overturned so someone can make the page if they feel like it.

I don't remember Eiyuu Senki specifically, but I do remember a couple stubs. Which one was that?

It's the strategy RPG which had historical and mythological figures depicted as hot(?) women. The original discussion had its own thread, but the discussion about bringing it back was here, when the Japanese all-ages version was announced.

Septimus decided to unlock it based on our discussion, with the caveat that there wasn't much substance on the page and that it probably wasn't worth restoring in its previous state due to lack of content.

It seems like we're not really doing much with the slightly loosened policy or whatever you want to call it. I believe that's because people aren't entirely sure what is and what is not acceptable. With that being said, I'm going to start bringing up some works to try to get a feel for what is an isn't acceptable under the new system. So I'm going to pick some stuff that I can at least discuss. First, Hoshizora no Memoria.

Hoshizora no Memoria is basically a cute fluffy visual novel about a kid returning to a town he used to live in to find his first friend, an school astronomy club that's trying to be reinstated and some weird magical hijinks. There are seven potential love interests with thirteen sex scenes between them. According to VNDB it takes 30-50 hours to complete, which comes out to about 2-3% being sex. The sex is all pretty normal stuff, from what I remember. No super fetishy stuff. So it's definitely not porn.

The difficulty comes in regarding three characters. The first one, Mare, had her sex scene censored by the translator, so she doesn't particularly matter for this discussion even though she's easily the youngest looking of the three. The other two girls, Isuzu and Chinami, are 15-16 and have potentially problematic appearances, which is why the work failed the test in the first place. Each one has two sex scenes.

As such, I'm bringing it up for discussion to see if it would now be acceptable to have on the wiki, possibly with restrictions such as no discussion of sexual content, needing to use the locked pages thread to access it, no google ads etc.

I have a question. If there is a fan edit of a porn work available for viewing that bleaches out the sex scenes, do we call that a Bleached Underpants version?

I ask because I happened to discover that somebody edited Shoujo Sect: Innocent Lovers for posting on You Tube.

Fanworks don't count. It needs to be an officially supported release.

With respect, I don't believe that the issue has come up before; hence, I'm asking the P5 for their position on the matter.

(Theoretically, I should be able to make a Fan Works page for Shoujo Sect: Innocent Lovers: YouTube Edit but personally I believe that'd be splitting hairs.)

Why does it need to be official? Most visual novel translations aren't and I think we accept those.

It's a wiki-wide rule that official releases of works are what matter, not fanworks or fandubs or whatever.

I'm not saying I'd let this one pass but rather that that kind of blanket statement doesn't necessarily match other decisions we've made here in the past.
