Only in Florida strikes again.
As a Floridian, I would be dissapoint if I wasn't used to this kinda stuff.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!I don't want to live on this pla- wait.
... I'm sorry, I think I just went brain dead for a second.
....
When is the part where we all laugh like crazies at the stupidity?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'm too busy shaking my head to laugh.
Wow, two articles about the evils of video games in one day. Kind of makes me look forward to that time about thirty years down the line when we're in charge and games are accepted. Then again we'll probably be raging about something else but whatever, one thing at a time.

...wow. Just wow.
It's VERY stupid considering they havn't even added gay Characters yet. I don't see why they need to make sexuality an issue in a MMO anyway. The main point is to play with others, who cares who they're screwing? They could just leave that part out completely.

I'm baaaaaaackEh, These types of people are considered a joke now, so I don't see much coming out of it.
Watch Symphogear^^Some people like roleplaying in MM Os and would like it to be an ingame option I guess.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahYeah. It's a Bio Ware game, so there are romance options (Not with other players, but with your NPC companions), but none of the romance options are gay/bi.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Ah, Florida, you must hate me then
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/On one hand, they want people to not play The Old Republic, a noble goal. But on the other hand, the motives behind it are so mind-fuckingly stupid that it hurts my fucking head just from looking at what they are saying. So yeah, they need to go be morons elsewhere.
EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESNoble goals in the minds of Bioware haters and WOW fanboys, mind you
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/e:Yes. You are a horrible person for that who will be consigned to eternal hellfire.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.dont forget the mere possiblity of it's future addition to one companion per class is "forcing" people to do it.
And it's not even the company saying that. It's Gamers/Gay activists asking for them to add it. And you know those two groups always get exactly what they want.
I'm baaaaaaackI... I tried to read that page. I think I made it to the third line before having to take a shower. It kinda raise the question, again, of why do they let their kids playing something they don't endorse? Actually, it's planned. it wouldn't be a Bioware game without awkward romances, and you can't get any awkward than a badly written gay romance by an hetero writer (Yes, Leliana and Liara, I'm looking at you). They were just probably a casualty of the early launch.

Ye gods, I remember the Aerie romance. Worse, I remember thinking it was sweet. Eurgh.
OK, so let me get this straight:
- LGBT activists want BioWare to have gay NPCs
- FFA doesn't want this.
- Bio-Ware hasn't released anything on the subject matter yet.
I don't see the problem.
While they have added nothing for now, they quite strongly hinted that it was planned for.
This is "Mass Effect hanky-panky" all over again...
Well, not exactly. The Mass effect Debacle was based upon wrong premises. Here, given that Bioware's games have been featuring gay options for quite a while, now, and considering they have hinted that they will do so for To R as well, it's a bit less of an ambulance chase. A tiny bit less.
Here's another piece of news for you (yes, I got it off Kotaku, again)
The Florida Family Association recently launched this article in protest of how children are forced to play as or with gay characters in Star Wars The Old Republic.
For those who value their intelligence and don't want to read through the whole thing, they case is basically that a hypothetical player might hypothetically make a transgender and/or gay/bi character in the game, and that, hypothetically, a child playing the game might run (hypothetically) across them or play as them. Let me rephrase that, " NYEH NYEH NYEH GAY PEOPLE".
Seriously, their entire case is based around how a person could do this, and how the game forces children's "action characters" (how they call Player Characters) to be gay, basically. And for that, they use the idea of a transgender Darth Vader. To quote:
An overwhelming percentage of the 1.7 million games sold are being used by children who do not need to be introduced to this propaganda.
LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) activists are demanding that the makers of Star Wars video games add LGBT characters for kids to select as their action figure when playing the games.
This group is also famous for trying to get the show All American Muslim off the air, and basically bitching and moaning that their children might catch the gays at every instance they get. Including Disney world.
Personally, as a gay person I find this offensive. As a sentient, thinking human being I find this to be an insult to my fucking intelligence. Regardless, I can't help but feel Poe's Law is at work here.
