Im really glad you enjoyed Doki Doki then. Its not my cup of tea,though.

Doki doki has Mana sue and some really poor fight animation with very few exceptions.

I'm more offended that someone things Smile! is a bad season if we're being honest.

Smile! is okay. Its more character driven then plot driven, but the characters take a slow amount of time to develop to the point that it drags down the series pacing for me.

If future dubs are of Glitter Force's quality, yeah might as well do Heartcatch. If only to see how they would write around Papa Moon.

12. Well, at least Mirai won't have to worry about sleeping in. Riko goes through the pain of trying to figure out what she should and shouldn't know. Mofurun is surprisingly good at volleyball. Here's a fight that only happened because there has to be a fight every episode. Yeesh, another one. They're definitely getting all the stones except maybe the Emerald by the midpoint. Hah, Natsuki spots them again.

We're 12 episodes in, and I don't think there's been an episode primarily focused on Mirai. They're either evenly split or focus on Riko. Not sure how to feel about that.

That is the opposite of what you should be doing, Riko.

It is a good idea to show your knowledge, but I doubt magical knowledge has anything to do with it. Unless you have a nutty professor who keeps on talking about magic, then that's another deal.

So yeah, Mirai doesn't quite have Akane's volleyball skills. She does have Yayoi's skill for attracting the ball with her face though.

13. Looks like Riko's tech fascination is going to continue for awhile. And Liz just shows up. Still not knowing what her sister is doing. Riko sure is mission focused. Mofurun needs to better distinguish between magical sweet and sweet sweet. That one girl gets all the luck in seeing them. She's probably thinking she's going crazy. They should just ditch the Diamond and Ruby, because Sapphire and Topaz give way better fights. Riko gets cheated out of her four leaf clover. Seems that she was always a chosen one. Next time, does Mirai finally get an episode primarily focusing on her?

Episode 13: "Late Subs" Edition

The parallel crossed my mind. Still, Mirai hasn't gotten much development compared to Riko, and just because we know Mirai will dominate later on doesn't mean things shouldn't be more evenly split as they are now.

On the other hand, of the two Riko has mainly been useless and Mirai the one who actually manages to overcome both their problems, so I'm personally not that bothered that most of the focus is on Riko.

14. Huh, so Mirai is good at school except for math. Not even the usual idiot. I knew I was correct to have high hopes for her. Though now I'm wondering how Riko fares at history. Mirai didn't need to learn another language to talk with people from another world. Haa knows how to rub it in. Heh, Riko acting on instinct didn't work out well for that poor TV. They're going to have to do something about that lucky girl eventually. New attacks are a blinder and a leaf storm. Meh. Haa is already a better artist than I. Next time she goes full cute.

15. In which Haa goes full cute. Somebody feed the poor baby. Or is she a toddler now? Of course Katsuhira sees her running about. But this time she's not the only one. Too bad she's still the crazy one. I have my suspicions on where they're going with her. I guess this is going to become the school's 8th mystery or something. Not sure if alien or dragon is the best form. Sweet, Topaz again. The enemies get some crucial intelligence. Moral of the story, feed the kids or they'll stuff themselves, go on a sugar rush, and make a mess around town.

The part where Riko accidentally made the TV disappear was based on a Japanese pun. The word she used when she cast the spell on the TV can mean both "disappear" and "turn off (an electronic device)", so she expected it to just turn off the TV but her wand interpreted it as meaning "make it disappear".

Huh, they wrote Riko's name in the magic language in the latest episode, which appears to be the official romanization.

It's "Liko".

Edit: Thinking about it, I think they're just inconsistent.

16. The old gang is back. Along with the weird guy. Just in time to expose magic to two non-idiots. Jun is a nerd. They've infiltrated our society. They could be anywhere. Waiting, and planning. Riko is getting plenty of practical magic application, so she's probably not falling behind. So the villains are already going for monster fusion. Batty should've swooped in and taken the Smartome then. Wait, Sparda is already dead? Well that was quick for her. Oh well, I didn't like her anyway.

So they're ripping off Men in Black now with that reveal that a load of famous people actually come from the Magic World?
