Alrighty - since the show is a good way into it's second season already I figured it's high time we had a topic for it.

Gotta say, the "hero reimagined as teen" angle almost threw me off, but then I watched the show - it's not half bad. The plots draw me in, some of the characters seemed abrasive at first but as the show went on they became a lot more rounded and interesting, and it's all in all a good show, imo.

With the new seasons, everything got tightened up - the animation is crisper, the characters are just as good and got a bit of improvement here or there, and there's tons of Mythology Gags and little touches to scenes.

Justin Hammer makes for an increasingly good villain this season - at first he didn't seem like much, but he slowly got more and more menacing, until, well, yesterday's episode.

I'm not big on the Iron Man universe, but it's been fun trying to point out which random characters have comic equivs (for example Black Panther's treacherous assistant).

Just found it on Netflix, so far the voice-acting is solid, but I think the humans look a bit off. Still going to give it a look.

I couldn't stand the teen-ification or the animation and abandoned this show early on. I REALLY don't like the animation. At all.

I love Mythology Gags, especially when Pepper called Ghost "Moon Knight knock-off". Hovewer I must missed reference to Iron Fist in Line of Fire. What did they said?

I didn't even know this show had been off hiatus for weeks. Here's the first episode since it came back, featuring DOOM. Watching it now.

Heh, Doombots. And Dormammu namedrop.

I'm liking how this season seems to be focusing on branching out the universe.

Hrm... looking at the episode list. I knew those twin rivals of Tony's as the academy must have been a reference to something in the comics, but I didn't recognize their names. Now I know...

Lots of Green Arrow references in the Hawkeye episode. Heh.

Oh, man. This Hawkeye episode is freaking hilarious.

Rhodey on Black Widow: "Man, that girl was amazing! How come War Machine can't run into villains like her instead of fighting dudes named Unicorn!"

I can't believe that line got past the censors.

I like it. It's kinda like a tv Sereis version of the movie, aged down a little, with the comics mixed

The looks doesn't sit well to me and taking any character and having them have a Spin-Off Babies sort of show always irks me. I gave a few episodes a chance and just don't like it.

I find the theme song grating, but I overly enjoy the show. I've only seen most of the 1st season.

Just saw the most recent two episodes. Nice.

First, the official intro to the Mad Thinker. Though she came off as a bit... Riddler-ish, she was surprisingly effective as a villainess. The fact that she turned out to be a convicted Ax-Crazy psychopath who used an assumed identity to join the Tomorrow Academy made her fairly weak motives a little easier to swallow in the end.

Since she got away scot-free apparently at the end, I'm guessing later episodes might have her join up with Hammer or something... or maybe someone more dangerous.

Then, Heavy Mettle. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this episode beforehand. I was mistaken. Some episodes, make me like Stane as a character more than others. This one was one of them. For all that the guy was a bastard, and for all he went completely freaking crazy at the end, he still had that shred of morality left. Whitney's speech to him, and the fact that it got through to him almost immediately, was a nice touch to his character (which often kind of teetered just on the tip of the 2D-villain-edge, except for episodes like this). And the fact that he ripped apart part of the Iron Monger from the inside to stop it from killing Whitney is a CMOA, in my opinion.

Also sounds like Whitney's going to be rejoining the villainess game, this time without the good intentions. And she apparently knows Tony is Iron Man. This does not bode well.

Also, this is interesting.

So, this show is back. Found out yesterday. Decided to check out the most recent episode. It's a fully Mandarin episode.

It's not as whammy as Heavy Mettle, but still fairly so. Tony now knows there are more rings, he and Gene are likely going to continue to be in direct opposition now, and now Tony thinks Gene doesn't actually know where his father is.

Gene is ping-ponging between "there's good in him" and "moustache twirling evil." In the same episode no less.

I missed a bunch of episodes, but now I'm all caught up. I agree about Stane being slightly redeemed. I wonder what will happen if he ever does come out of the coma. Just go lead a quiet normal life?

I've been watching this show since episode one. I am enjoying the teenage play on the characters, even Black Panther. Though not everyone seems to feel the same way. Definitely not a fan of the animation however.

It looks like Whitney may be heading down the road of putting on her mask once more.

As for Gene, it seems like the writers are really keeping us in major suspense on if he's going to turn into a total dick, or redeem him somehow.

And with that said, is Pepper ever going to get her own armor?

In addition some really painful Dramatic Irony, the newest episode - which is fairly bittersweet to say the least - continues this season's love of Mythology Gags by introducing Stark Solutions.

^ Also, according to the newest episode, yes she will. Probably the Rescue Armor. I fully expect her to get it at the season finale a la Rhodey in the last.

I'm half wondering if Pepper will be called Rescue in her new armor, and if so what's the reason for it.

So, anyone see the Iron Man vs Magneto episode?

Pretty interesting, even though they had to drastically alter a lot of the X-Men stuff to make it fit. Jean made for a pretty cool character.

I like how they didn't have Tony make a catch-all thing to stop Maggie's magnetism - it looked like they were going for that at the halfway mark.

As for the most recent episode - lots of Timey-Wimey Ball, Andros is Lawful Stupid, Hammer once again shows that he's smarter and crueler than he seems but not as smart as he thinks he is, lots of Timey-Wimey Ball (seriously, the logic behind the ending, particularly when it comes to time scaling, is a little bizarre, but you can semi-explain it), and a little playing around with Deus ex Machina before playing it straight.

is Pepper ever going to get her own armor?

Brrr, I hope not. Pepper's a clumsy Faux Action Girl as it is and she seems to think getting her own armor will make her more useful, but given her luck, I think it'll just give her MORE trouble. tongue

Sorry but your Doomed by Canon as shown earlier by another troper, the comic Pepper got a suit of Armor just like Rhody did. So it's logical to assume she will get her armor soon enough.

IIRC, in the comics, the Rescue armor isn't for battle. But this incarnation of Pepper would love smashing things just as much as the Hulk. I wonder what the reason for being called Rescue is gonna be.

Well, anyway, I've got a theory, that Pepper's gonna come in and save Rhody and Tony from almost certain death and then go on and on about how she was the one to rescue them.

Though if she does, she's gonna need to calm down a little, otherwise she'll probably turn into a Leeroy Jenkins.

I think you guys are judging her too harshly - she has been easing well into a kind of Mission Control role this season, and maybe she'll learn an aesop before using the armor as well.

How Pepper can handle the Rescue armor when she's usually the one in need of rescuing, I do not know. But if she does learn to get better with Mission Control, then she'll be fine.

But this incarnation of Pepper would love smashing things just as much as the Hulk.

Or like Kevin Levin in Ben 10 Ultimate Alien. They both have around the same IQ, I think. tongue

Though if she does, she's gonna need to calm down a little, otherwise she'll probably turn into a Leeroy Jenkins.

That's what I'm afraid off, seeing as she already has Leeroy Jenkins potential.
