Just because a majority of the audience sees a character as moe does not make them actually moe.
Case in point: Every major female character from Neon Genesis Evangelion
And your one?... you should have told me... I take back what I said....

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuI am not one I was just saying thats the way they are seen as by them. They normally have all the qualities.
There are many qualities that can be considered Moe
etcCan all be considered moe qualities.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I am appalled you can call BL moe....
Huh? Why not? There certainly could be characters that one would find moe in BL works. I don't, as a general rule, read/watch BL, but there's nothing saying it couldn't happen. I'm pretty sure the pink haired boy in Gravitation is found to be moe by at least some of the audience.

If someone finds Rei moe, well, then they find Rei moe. Does that mean that you, personally, have to agree? No, it doesn't. But telling someone they are wrong for finding a character moe is ridiculous.
I'm not saying that your wrong for finding them moe, I'm saying that some of these characters were not created as moe characters in the first place.

Uhh....and? Thats totally irrelevant. No one said that only characters "designed" to be moe can be found moe. Thats why its ridiculous to try to label "moe characters" or "moe series"
A moe character is a character you find moe. Thats it. Period.
Its like saying that there were no Tsundere before 2002.
Doesnt matter if they were created to be moe or not.
And I would argue they knew exactly what they were messing with making Asuka a Tsundere... (hell look at Shana Clone too) and well Rei Ayanami Expy speaks for itself that caught on fast... and Yuki is Moe.
Most of the Moe concept stems from pretty much a hybrid of Loli, and Bishojo genres.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!No it's just most BL I've seen is the likes of Junjou Romanitca... GOD MY EYES!
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura Chifuyu
Or you could try ignoring it. No one is forcing you to watch BL or Yaoi, so why should you care if it exists, much less pass judgement on it?
If you have nothing else to add to the conversation, don't keep posting.
Okay, here are shows that fit my definition of "Moe" shows:
Ones that count:
Ones don't count:
- BL Genre (eh...)
- Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (pain in the ass to type all that...)
- Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (just in case)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (you never know)
- Puella Magi Madoka Magica (better be safe)
Debateable:
So, you guys now know what kind of shows I'm talking about.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.
So, Schoolgirl Slice of Life? Thats astonishingly restrictive.
Eh, what can I do.
Now you can stop bringing up Higurashi or PMMM.

Try to not mangle terms to fit your own, personal definition?
x4 This so much.
x5 very subjective there... as well as Misuse of the Moe concept.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!(shrugs) Just borrowing the term to describe something I can't find really proper words for.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.
So what, your incredibly arbitrary and meaningless list means that the discussion is over, and you won?
No, it doesn't.
Madoka is not a "moe" show, because there is no such thing as a "moe" show, but it most certainly elicited vast amounts of moe from me.
I gave you a term. Schoolgirl Slice Of Life. Do not call these "moe" shows, and claim that nothing else fits. You are wrong.

Yeah... But he did define what is moe to him and what is not. Isn't that what it is actually: a subjective concept that may or maynot invoke emotion from the target viewer. Like my case with BL.

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuThere isnt much there though I mean your looking at a few shows that vary greatly in demographic and other things but the only thing in common is its School Girl Slice of Life maybe a little Iyashikei.
Go grab most of the Slice of Life index with a cute element in it then your going to have problems with most I bet.... Hyakko Yuru Yuri, Minami Ke, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Suzumiya Haruhi, Yotsuba etc

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!That's it. It's clear that you'd rather bicker over the semantics of how he asked the question than talk about the question he asked.
We don't do bickering threads.
Locking.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
An Uke is Moe to a Yaoi Fan Girl.
They normally have most or all the qualities of one.
