NOTE: This thread is not about games that are well-loved but didn't sell well. So don't post games like [1] or [2]. This thread is about games that you believe deserve more praise than they tend to get.

Anyway, yeah, post games that you think are underrated here.

The Sonic Adventure Series. Whether or not you enjoy playing as the other characters (and I personally do, sans Big), you have to appreciate the fast and unique 3-D platforming experience offered by the Sonic and Shadow levels, and they're arguably the only 3-D Sonic games prior to Unleashed to do it right in spite of some moderate Camera Screw. These stages also feature great level design (in SA 1 especially), and the plot of both games is actually pretty well done by Sonic standards (although Your Mileage May Vary...by a lot).

Even if Star Fox Adventures was a Star Fox game In Name Only, it was still a genuinely well-designed adventure game if you ask me. I also thought that Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts was a lot of fun.

Also, Sonic Unleashed. Similar case with the Adventure Series, really. Even if the Werehog sucked, the daytime levels have kept me playing for three years. They are a unique and amazing experience that had not been seen in the franchise before, focusing on amazing speed and memorizing the level to get good at it, and nothing beats the sense of accomplishment you feel when you can finally S-Rank a stage. Even Sonic Colors, despite being a far better game overall and borrowing elements such as the boost gauge and switching between 2-D and 3-D perspectives, offers a very different experience. A similar style is going to appear in Sonic Generations, except it seems to have more of a focus on straight-up platforming than memorizing the layout of the level and obstacles. That's fantastic, but the daytime levels of Unleashed will likely always remain a unique experience amongst 3-D Sonic games. AND DON'T GIVE ME ANY OF THAT "OMG YOU JUST HOLD X TO WIN" CRA- -brick'd-

-gets up- And Metroid Other M is awesome, including the plo- -shot- (The stuff about the Deleter, MB and the Metroid breeding program anyway. I'd prefer not to comment on Samus' characterization...)

Scurge Hive, I found this game loads of fun and yet when it showed up, it was written off as a Metroid knock off. Granted, it pays homage to the franchise, but it plays completely different (isometric view), the protagonist is only shares two traits with Samus (being female and a bounty hunter) and has a completely different feel.

The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated.

Quest 64 is still pretty underrated(possibly for good reasons), it's just nothing special.

Likewise, there's a similar topic like this. Not sure if we should keep it there, though.

Anyway, I can't think of any more good examples.

Okage: The Shadow King continues to be my favorite rpg. Loved the humor in it, and the only people who know about it seem to adore it.

Bomberman 64: The Second Attack!. Granted, it's well loved by the fandom, so I'm not entirely sure it counts. But the fact that I barely see it mentioned by non-Bomberman fanatics really makes me sad.

Just Cause 2 is underrated? That thing got some serious love from just about everybody, I thought.

Wait, weren't both Sonic Adventures and Unleashed praised for having pretty fun gameplay? Okay, Unleashed got slight flack for the Werehog, but I didn't find that an actual broken part of the game. Maybe not the most fun, but it wasn't broken or anything.

You'd think Sonic 2006 was more underrated instead.(if not hated by some)

1. Serious Sam 2 - I honestly don't know why so many people hate it compared to the previous SS's. Sure, it introduced a sort of Art Shift by making Sam and the other characters more cartoony, but I thought it looked really good. And heck, the game was very long and always had tons of different enemies to fight, with some of the best-looking levels I've ever seen in a shooter. I think it deserves better than what the critics gave it.

2. White Knight Chronicles - I'll agree the story is absolute crap, but the gameplay is addicting as hell. Especially when you go online, where you join groups of players to complete quests and defeat ridiculously powerful bosses, MMO style. And there's nothing more satisfying than going up in Guild Rank, or crafting new gear.

3. Duke Nukem Forever - Yeah, yeah, I know, it's full of immature humor and was definitely not worth the 15-year wait. But by itself, it's actually not that bad a game. My only real complaint is the 2-weapon limit and overabundance of Pig Cops compared to other enemies. The Regenerating Health, while annoying, wasn't really a game-killer in this case. Now if only there were more Devastators...

4. Killzone 3 - This game actually did get good scores, but what I don't understand is the people complaining about the controls, with some people going so far as to say that they're just as bad as Killzone 2's. Not every goddamn game has to control like Call Of Duty, with ridiculously magnetic auto-aim and zero-recoil guns. The "weighty" feeling is what makes the game unique, and hell, it's not even game-breaking. If these people would just play the game for more than 2 seconds, they might understand that and maybe, just maybe, we might achieve world peace.

5. Dynasty Warriors - Any DW. It defines the word "repetitive," but it's also really fun. "Enemy Officer Defeated!"

Phantom Brave is totally underrated, created by the same guys who made Disgaea

you always see people raving on Disgaea but never Phantom Brave

sure it's not funny but has decent Tearjerker moments

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?

Thirding Impossible Creatures. It is not only what got me into multiplayer RTS despite its tremendous balance problems, it also solidified my love of Relic along with Homeworld.
