Okay so I want to use two characters, as a couple, because that's how I need to work with them. Where would be best?
Nous restons ici. What exactly are you looking for?
Also, I was going to do a post for Trekesser, but I'm feeling tired so I think it'll hold until tomorrow. Gev waiting on Tera Chimera.
Reasonably low-key. Not conflict-free but kept to word. They're on a belated honeymoon.
Nous restons ici.My road trip is finally over. There are worse ways to spend a month, I suppose.
I'll probably post sometime today/tonight; still feeling a little weary from the journey and I'm not really in the mood to right now.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I'd like to raise the topic of what the next thread should be like.
The consensus seems to me to be in favor of a different and more active thread, which I like. Not certain as to the specifics, however. I lean a little towards Weird West, with a couple caveats.
I think a lawless partially-settled wilderness is a good premise for character shenanigans, but personally find the traditional Western setting to be fairly boring. It'd have to emphasize the Weird aspect more than the West to make it interesting, or go for a thematic likeness rather than literal with something like a sci-fi Character Borderworld. Just an example.
If the next thread is going to be a more active one, I think it's worth it to consider the matter of Inciting Incidents. If our characters are going to be doing something they'll need a reason, which means something needs to happen in the world that gives them that reason. This necessitates, to a degree, that the world itself needs to be well-realized enough to provide a background for the event that serves as the inciting incident.
I don't imagine it will need to be too specific- City is fairly barebones and yet it seems to function fairly well. None of us want to be railroaded, but a setting should have a rich enough background to inspire plot, even if it's simple plot. So, any ideas?
yeyStruggling a bit to write coherently today. I didn't get much sleep.
I'll come back to this later.
Maybe it could be a western/fantasy type thing, sort of like Dungeon Punk except in the Wild West?
That way it'd have elements familiar to a lot of the characters (since many of them are from fantasy settings) and it can still incorporate Weird West elements in it.
Gave them our reactions, our explosions, all that was ours For graphs of passion and charts of stars...I'm definitely wanting something with a more wilderness-y ring to it - a change from the high-tech city and civilised resort. I've already thought of the characters to bring for such a setting.
What their aims/motivations would be would depend largely on what's in the setting.
For aesthetics, an idea I just had was follow the themes of a Western setting but instead set it in Lovecraft Country. Eldritch abominations optional.
For other things, I sadly don't have many ideas at the moment. The closest I've come up with is having it be set in a ghost town and let the characters try to find out why it's a ghost town, but that requires characters having a reason to be at said ghost town to begin with.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I'm really iffy about doing that way as opposed to just straight Weird West aesthetics to be quite honest. I've got nothing against incorporating Lovecraft Country aesthetics into it though.
Note to self: Pick less edgy username next time.Honestly, I don't think either aesthetic sounds very good for a setting meant to accommodate a wide variety of characters. What I like more about the idea is the more general notion of, as Gault put it, a "borderland" on the edge between civilization and the wilderness, which would make for something significantly different from the more urban threads we've had lately.
I'm pretty much up for any of the ideas thus far mentioned, but that's mostly because my world's characters are naturally very flexible. But yeah, a "borderland" with massive expanses of untouched wilderness would be a change from Capital. The biome isn't vastly important to me — hell, it could be a World of Chaos Patchwork Map.
A borderlands setting would be good, wilderness especially good.
It will have to be able to accommodate all sorts of characters from historical fiction to science fiction, taking in fantasy and everything between.
If the aim is to find out about the setting itself - why it's like it is or what's happened there, I'll have to work out why my characters would've left home to investigate.
On an unrelated note: it turns out I wasn't able to post tonight. Most of it was too loud to actually focus (Dad and friends playing guitar and whatnot), then Dad wanted to use the internet, and now it's 3 AM when I should be sleeping by midnight.
I'll try to post tomorrow.

Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I was going to post for Seon tonight, but it's a lot later than I meant it to get and I'm operating on like three hours of sleep as it is, so I'm going to hold off on that until tomorrow. Night, everyone.
I like the wilderness angle too. Got a handful of characters who spend a lot of time in the wilds, so that suits me just fine.
every little word and every little stepA Weird West with a handful of artifacts (I think?) sounds like a couple characters I have.
However, as for actually posting, I might have to sit this one out for a while; on 10-19 of next month, I'm gonna be gone on a missions trip, where there won't be any internet. And after that, I'll be gone on 20-25 to my Dad's family reunion, where I don't know if there'll be internet or not. I could post in the thread until starting these travels, but I don't want characters rendered inactive for two whole weeks.
But this doesn't mean I won't be able to post at all. After all these events, I might join during the latter half of the thread's lifespan. Maybe sooner if the reunion has internet.
I'll post a response by tonight. Some things are starting to come up and the squeeze is on...
every little word and every little stepEdited in a response for Eliza, as well as a time change since it's come to that, into my latest Capital post.
Also, from here on out I'm just referring to Samantha's Flash Step as "warping" or "blinking" as that's easier to type out than "disappearing and reappearing."
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!Uh no more posts tonight. Tornado sirens are going off and it's getting bad.
Life is hard, that's why no one survives.Stay safe.
Update: The storm has passed and a funnel touched down briefly around 2-5 miles west of here. It got scary and power's supposed to be out, but me, my pets, family, and my house is ok. I'm going to bed now.
Life is hard, that's why no one survives.Glad you are ok cause that sounds scary.
I'm all up for a western setting with some magic, like magical guns or something. *.*
Also is this new thread taking place of Resort? Cause I know I need to post in Resort but if we are replacing it very soon I don't see the need to continue forward.
And I will post tomorrow for Capital as it is almost bedtime for me. Sorry about that, was very busy this weekend.

"Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?"I'm waiting to post for Qrlil until Garkin's plot advances slightly. Is there any other character that I could be posting for that I'm missing, though?
Just to clarify, my character is standing at whichever bus stop where the characters on the Market Street bound bus will be disembarking at. I didn't give a more specific location because of that.
