Mortal Kombat: Legacy

First episode here.

This is going to seem like a stupid question, but this is the series for that preview I saw a couple months back that was in that interrogation room, wasn't it?

Also, what did people think in general?

... This... actually looks pretty cool.

Enjoyed the first episode quite a bit, considering that it's basically a prologue. Sets up Kano, Sonya, and Jax and Stryker. Jeri Ryan definitely shows her age a bit here, but Jax cemented himself into the usual "badass black guy" role which is basically Jax, and now we've potentially got a reason for his arms to get redone. Curious to see where it all goes.

Thus far, I'm loving it, though it does kinda suck that the episodes are only 7-10 minutes each. When the whole series is complete, it wouldn't be a stretch to stitch them together into a single movie, just by cutting out the beginning/ending filler.

I've been looking forward to it ever since "Rebirth" came out a few months ago, and I'm not disappointed. I stumbled on it by accident when I wanted to check up on the progress of the production on That Other Wiki.

This series is awesome but I personally think the first two episodes could have just been one. If we're only getting nine episodes, then we can't waste episodes.

Jax wins. Fatality.

But what the fuck was that? It was five minutes of slow motion sandwiched between three minutes of shit.

Is anyone still watching this? Or did NetherRealm piss off too many people with the last three episodes?

Liked the Johnny Cage episode, DID NOT like the ones featuring Mileena and Kitana.

The new Raiden one is now my favorite.

Scorpion's story episodes are officially my favorite in the series so far. I don't know if they can top that. It's the perfect blend of Darker and Edgier without Doing In the Wizard, both Scorpion and Sub Zero show they're equally Badass, and the entirety of Scorpion's origin is summed up neatly over the period of a few days rather than the Info Dump for Kitana/Mileena. And no Art Shift.

The Scorpion/Sub-Zero episodes are now my favorites, but since the second one is about 5 minutes after removing the "previously" intro and the credits, they could have been one episode. And I think Quan Chi's voice wasn't deep enough.

One more episode, apparently Sektor and Cyrax's.

So, does anyone know if the rest of this series is in limbo? What's going on with it?

Ep. 9 has been out for a couple of weeks now. And I believe that episode marks the end of Season 1.

Scratch my last comment. The Sektor and Cyrax one is my favorite by far.

With new characters and it focuses on the actual tournament now.

Harry Shum, Jr. ("Glee") as the warlord adviser Kuai Liang, Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) as martial arts film actor Johnny Cage, Brian Tee (The Wolverine) as Shaolin Monk Liu Kang, Mark Dacascos (Cradle 2 The Grave) as Kung Lao - a close friend of Liu Kang, Ian Anthony Dale (“Hawaii Five O”) returns as the resurrected ninja Scorpion, and reprising his role he made famous in the Mortal Kombat film - Cary Tagawa as the powerful, arrogant sorcerer Shang Tsung.

Also, glad to see we're finally getting a live-action Kung Lao (and not the Great Kung Lao either). I don't know why he's escaped live-action Mortal Kombat for so long.

And they've recast Johnny Cage? What's the new guy like?

Wait, Kuai Liang, AKA Tundra, AKA Sub-Zero, is going to be played by Mike from Glee?

Huh. That'll be something.

Anybody else Squee when Shang Tsung said that "It has begun"? Not sure how I feel about this interpretation of Liu Kang or Ermac thus far, though. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Oh wow, they put them all out at once.

Damnit, Warner, I have homework to do. Stop making me be so unproductive.

Just finished the first seven episodes. It's good, but I've got the feeling it's gonna lead to another cliffhanger, seeing as how most of the episodes are still flashbacks so far, with very little tournament.

I'm just hoping it's not gonna be another 2 and a half year wait.

Just finished season 2. Goddammit, I want season 3 now. T.T

Still can't believe they got Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa for Shang Tsung. Also, I totally want Johnny Cage to actually win a fight next season. Come on, man, you're the Ninja Mime! Uncage the Rage, man. Uncage the Rage!
