I would say yes, or at least 1&2 plus either 3 or 4. If they're not a kid (broadly defined), not responsible, or not cute, then they don't fit.

Gave the main page a good scrubbing of ambiguous examples, zero context examples, and seeming misuse.

Sorry if that was excessive, I tend to err on the side of "remove it, let it come back later if it fits". It seems better than waiting for someone to come along and notice it's wrong, because that almost never happens.

Is there anyone else who wants to help take a whack at the wicks? There's a whole lot of them....

I'd like to remind anyone changing wicks that there is an immense amount of misuse of Cute Shotaro Boy. Don't just replace the name, that'll just perpetuate the misuse. Each wick needs to be looked at to see what it should point to.

It it's a pothole on a character name, it can probably just be axed unless you know the character. Those don't add much of anything to the example, and, without context, we can't tell if they fit.

I use the edit reason "Pothole to Cute Shotaro Boy (now Adorably Precocious Child), a widely misused trope. Unable to tell if this fits the trope, so removing it." for those.

Got anything from Z-X. Most of that was Just The Trope And A Name and sinkholes.

Yeah, the vast majority of wiks are just "cute little boy". Some can get changed to other tropes, but a lot need to be flat-out cut.

Unfortunately, I have about ~900 Immortality wicks to clean, but if this is still going when I'm done, I'll pitch in more.

Did through the end of the A's, plus double-checked Septimus Heap's edits (dude, you were really lenient on them). I tried to move the examples to another trope if I could think of one that seemed relevant, but the majority just got axed. Down to "only" 1263 wicks that need checking.

Got most of the W section now. I deleted all potholes since they are surely incorrect, pulled any nondescript entries to discussion.

A few thoughts:

• Wizards Of Waverly Place looks like a correct entry, so I left it in.
• TropersDoIt.With Anime: Just for Fun entry, can't tell.
• Wise Beyond Their Years seems correct.
• FiveManBand.Western Animation A-M: All entries are undetailed, can't tell.
• So You Want To: SoYouWantTo.Write A Harem Anime and So You Want To/.Write A Dating Sim: Not quite sure.
• Wake-Up Call Boss: I think that is an example, can someone check?

Looked those over:

• Characters.Wizards Of Waverly Place - from what I've seen of the show, I'd say no.
• TropersDoIt.With Anime - correct
• Wise Beyond Their Years - looks OK
• FiveManBand.Western Animation A-M - I think this is correct (Benjamin from Geronimo Stilton), second opinions appreciated
• SoYouWantTo.Write A Harem Anime and SoYouWantTo.Write A Dating Sim - both wrong, IMO
• Wake-Up Call Boss - not that familiar with Tales Of Vesperia, but let's say OK

Took out most of V. It's often used as a description in other tropes - I'm not sure what to do with it.

Also:

• Characters.Vocaloid: Looks more like Alternative Character Interpretation/Fanon. Opinions?
• Vitriolic Best Buds: Ayaka from Mahou Sensei Negima seems like an example, but I'm not sure.
• Violence is the Only Option: Not at all sure. Left it in for safety reasons.
• Viewer Gender Confusion: Not sure how to deal with them.
• FreudianTrio.Video Games: Might be an example.
• Fanon.Video Games: How do we deal with Alternative Character Interpretation?
• Gush.Video Games: Is Link from The Legend Of Zelda an example? From hearsay, I'd say yes.
• BreakTheCutie.Video Games: Both looked like misuse.
• FiveBadBand.Video Games: Is Thetis from Mega Man ZX Advent an example?

Took a look at the above, axed most of them. In general, if the trope is used to refer to a character's appearance (describes how girly they look, potholed to "cute", used as a contrast to Bishonen, the "example" consists of an image link, etc), it should be cut. The overwhelming majority of wicks are misuse for "cute boy", and we want to kill as much of that as possible.

When you say "It's often used as a description in other tropes", what do you mean? I thought I got all the tropes that used it as compare/contrast back at the beginning, are there others?

I mean like "<Trope>: <Character> who is <Trope> is also a Cute Shotaro Boy"

Eh. Unless the linked trope implies responsibility/maturity or I know the character is one (Negi from Negima, Jimmy from Conan), I've been axing that or replacing it with "cute little boy" or something. If I know what they're trying to imply and it seems relevant to the example, I'll try to find another trope that fits the intent (Cheerful Child, Bishōnen, Shotacon, and Ho Yay are the most typical connotations).
