Despite my somewhat zigzagging views on copyright, I have to agree here.
The guys who developed Limbo said they would have released a PC version if it had not been for piracy.
Jonah FalconSad that even indie developers don't get due respect.
On the other hand, Steam isn't so bad.
But yeah, this leakage sucks and this is most likely gonna end up like the Half Life 2 Beta.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelDamn shame. This game deserves to be purchased.
Also, I just wanna say that the soundtrack for this game is AWESOME.
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)...why didn't we have a thread on this already?
I remember playing the original. It was a really fun game (and screwing around in the Cry Kit... gah, I can't even remember what it was actually called, was awesome) but the multiplayer... it left something to be desired. I mean, it was awesome fun, but you couldn't get on a server without someone hacking. Though I do have fun memories of Strength Mode punching someone off of an aircraft carrier, to cries of "HAAAAXXXX" all the way down. Probably one of my best gaming moments.
That game really didn't deserve to go like it did.
I haven't been following this game, have they made an explanation about how the heck you got to New York after the ending of the first game?
"The fact that your food can be made into makeshift bombs alarms the Hell out of me, Scrye." - CharlatanAs for the story, I'm not even certain if the Player Character in Crysis 2 is confirmed to be Jake "Nomad" Dunn. It could just as easily be someone else with a nanosuit (that he apparently isn't supposed to have). Or there could be a massive Time Skip.
In any case, the plot wasn't the strong point of Crysis to begin with. Playing Predator with the invisibastard cloak mode and generally exploiting the Videogame Cruelty Potential on human soldiers was.
I'm not looking too forward to Crysis 2 because of how scaled-down it appears to be due to having to also run on consoles, but I still hope it does well enough despite the early leak to give Crytek Nottingham the go-ahead for Time Splitters 4. If that game exists-on PC and with CryENGINE 3, complete with modding tools like the Sandbox Editor-I will be a very happy man indeed.
(Oh, and one of these days, I want to create a mod for the multiplayer side of the original Crysis/Crysis Wars to refine the general gameplay mechanics, streamline the suit modes, not punish late joiners by giving them the lowest rank and not enough points to buy anything decent with, that sort of thing.)
If the leaked copy's any indication, it's a linear corridor shooter heavily influenced by Call Of Duty.
The new It Just Bugs Me!Meh. One of my problems with the Crysis multiplayer was it was way too big (except for a few good maps). Great for adding in air vehicles, but infantry wasn't as much fun when you had to run halfway across the map. It was the smaller maps and FFA games that were really fun, honestly, which was a shame.
(hasn't played Crysis in a few years, never did get Crysis Wars)
Mainly, I'd like smaller MP maps if it allows for a lot more infantry focused-ness. Sure, vehicles and such are fun, but when your primary selling point is a top of the line infantry armor... >_>
Though it does seem very CoD like from the one progression trailer I saw... ah well. Maybe the destructibility will be good.

I've never really liked Call Of Duty-esque No Sidepaths, No Exploration, No Freedom singleplayer campaigns. Granted, the original Crysis was fairly railroaded, but said railroad was pretty wide and let you handle each situation as you saw fit, so it didn't FEEL linear. Sort of like how Deus Ex didn't feel too linear, I suppose.
And while Time Splitters is also highly linear...I don't know why, but I don't mind the singleplayer in 2 and Future Perfect too much. Especially the latter, likely because of having one Crowning Moment Of Funny right after another. I suppose it's the humor that makes certain shooters stand out-could say the same for a certain couple of Planet Moon Studios titles.
The leaked version is a linear corridor shooter. It's not likely, but considering all the odd limitations put on the leaked version (DX 9 only, no way to configure button layout except by tweaking files), it's possible that we're looking at the console version, and Crytek is going to pull a Far Cry Instincts by basically making the console and PC versions 2 separate games, one very linear and small-scale and the other more open.

The new It Just Bugs Me!^...Well played, Crytek.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI smell an inside job.
Obviously. These are not cracked games. This is stolen code.
Jonah FalconSpy! /obligatory
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelLooks like someone just had to download the beta and upload the first 25 minutes of gameplay.
I think we should give Crysis 2 its own page, if only just to keep all its plot spoilers away from the original game's page.
41.4 GB.

Fuck rootkeys, Sony. You have the greatest copy protection ever.

The new It Just Bugs Me!Gotta love those Blu-Rays.
Against all tyrants.Think the multiplayer could be potentially pretty interesting since everyone's got a supersuit.
Though Fridge Logic has me wondering, what exactly is the enemy team in multiplayer? Since they certainly don't look like aliens.
Also I won't be surprised if the achievement for killing someone by kicking a car in their face is 'I ran outta bullets'.
The enemy team is some group called C.E.L.L. What their intentions are, I don't know yet, but it looks like they try to keep Manhattan free of The Virus...by shooting anyone and anything that moves who isn't one of their own. Especially you, since you're wearing Prophet's nanosuit and they naturally mistake you for him in the singleplayer mode.
But given that Crysis 1 multiplayer was basically US vs. North Korea, I'm not too surprised. Gotta have some excuse for the human race to fight itself in order to keep multiplayer balanced, I suppose.
New Trailer!

Looks riddiculously good, if perhaps very set-piece based, which seems to be feeing into more of a corridor shooter type play.
That shot of the train was amazing. Underwater stuff! WOO!

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.My only response: Well, at least I'm getting it for the PS 3.
The multiplayer looks fun.
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudI'm watching the first 25 minutes of the beta.
If Alcatraz bothered talking and tried to clear this crap up, there'd probably be less Crynet goons shooting at him.

A late beta of Crysis 2 has been leaked onto bitTorrent.
And people wonder why so few AAA games hit PC (you can count the number of sports games on PC, for example, on one hand — and not need your pinky, ring or index finger), and those that do hit the PC require Steam or DRM.
My official response:
PAY FOR THE FUCKING GAME, DEADBEATS.
