All sorts of things, but mostly music with an experimental edge.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. Some classic rock, Psychedelic Rock, Progressive Rock, Thrash Metal and other assorted metals, a little bit of pop and classical.
no one will notice that I changed thisAll over the map, but mostly hip-hop, different kinds of metal, and hard alternative. I also have some trip-hop, progressive, jazz-fusion, and those companies that make music solely for movie trailers sprinkled in here somewhere.
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt." - Some guy with a snazzy hat.To keep it simple, the hard-pop-rock/pop-metal umbrella with ample helpings of alt-metal and a bit of "regular" metal. I can enjoy some alternative.
Stuff with instruments. Usually, but not exclusively, stuff with melodies.
You don't listen to a capella music, or are you including the voice as an instrument?

There are some exceptions. I don't listen to Pop-Country, and my knowledge of the entire category of "Classical" is lacking. But the latter is due more to laziness than dislike.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Yes, I consider the voice an instrument.
Oh, okay, it's just that the idea of you not liking a genre was weird.
@Spain: Saint-Saëns.
Me: Mostly polyphony.

Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI listen to almost anything. Though I often do...
- prefer classical, light listening, and symphonic rock
- mildly prefer pop, techno/dance/electronica/etc., and jazz
- don't mind country
- am meh toward rap
- am slightly less favorable to R&B, and
- like heavy metal and related genres (such as death metal) least.
Anything as long as no one else has heard of it. *puts on Hipster Shades* .
But seriously now:
- Alternative Rock, Post-Rock, Math Rock, Experimental-Rock, just about anything with the word 'Rock' in it that isn't 'Classic Rock' or 'Pop Rock'.
- Baroque Pop
- Folk
- Electronic (mostly Ambient and Minimalist Techno)
- Jazz
- Classical (mostly Choral, but instrumental stuff gets better circa 1850)
- A tiny bit of underground, hipster-approved Hip-Hop.
(EDIT: Someone needs to make a page for Math Rock. To the Wiki!)

I'm having to learn to pay the priceMostly electronic. House / Dn B/whatever you call Unreal Tournament style tracker techno (loooove all the guys at Straylight!)/VGM/ambient (FSOL!). Synthpop (no 2000's synthpop though, that sh*t needs to DIAF) is also cool.
I also like the electronic chillout jazz stuff, whatever you call Thievery Corporation and the rest of Eighteenth Street Lounge, acid jazz disco pop like Jamiroquai, plain old jazz be it relic or contemporary is cool too. I also love straight up old disco (both pre synth and post).
As far as rock is concerned, mainly 80's and stuff that sounds 80's (like the Black Mages). Some Radiohead, Incubus and Muse is OK too, but I never take that crap seriously.
I do not listen to post 90's rap. Rap has been dead ever since you guys brought the 808 back. F*ck that, BREAKBEATS AND SAMPLERS FOR LIFE. I especially like G-funk and some of the g-funkier R'n'B. Reggae is cool too, particularly the more modern stuff, though raggaeton can go f*ck itself.
Orchestral stuff is good too, but I find myself listening to far more videogame orchestral than actual orchestral.
I hate country, hate it hate it. The ONLY country that is any good is Johnny Cash. THE END.

I suppose I like listening to most genres. Reggae and ska are a lot of fun, and I also enjoy listening to jazz, funk, soul, punk and general rock. Terribly untrendy genres, as I understand it, but I like them well enough.
I also profess a certain liking for musical theatre, because I seemed to end up playing a lot of that stuff for my piano lessons (Rodgers and Hammerstein are definitely the best in this genre in my opinion).
Only pre-1993 electronic post-dronecore
OK, seriously, I like just about anything, but these are the genres I find myself listening to more often than not (although my taste spreads all over the place):
- Progressive Rock and Progressive Metal
- Ambient/Dark Ambient
- "IDM" (horrible tag for a genre)
- Post-Rock
- Math Rock
- Post-hardcore (the good kind, don't listen to it as often as I used to though)
- Experimental music in general
what.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....A bunch of stuff, but mostly metal (particularly of the progressive and symphonic varieties), instrumental and progressive rock, post-hardcore, trance (psychedelic, atmospheric and progressive), synthpop and ambient music.
Because I choose to.From Wikipedia.
lolololololololololol
I know you're joking anyway, Lordnecronus :P.
My collection has some alternative, rap, classic rock, industrial and a bumload of various types of metal.
Aww, did I hurt your widdle fee-fees?Unfortunately, only metal (alternative or not), and sometimes punk rock. I have some interest in certain electronic and classical music, as well as old-school hip hop, but don't listen to it frequently.
No regret shall pass over the threshold!
Me, I like to listen to all sorts of classic rock. It doesn't really matter what kind, Arena Rock, Blues Rock, Hard Rock, it doesn't matter to me. If it's got an electric guitar and it's more than 10 years old, odds are I'll like it.
But that's just me, what about you?
Why I am afraid of fences.
