Anarchy Reigns (Platinum Games)

Atsushi Inaba, who produced Madworld and Vanquish, has announced a new game: Max Anarchy.

Not much is known about the game save it’s described as an online multiplayer melee action game. Inaba stated that the game has been difficult to synchronize because “this kind of genre hasn’t been invented yet.” Max Anarchy will also have a single player campaign as well.

If you want a hint of the tone of the game, know that Jack from Madworld makes a cameo in the game.

Max Anarchy is being published by Sega, and is in development for the Play Station 3 and Xbox 360, and should see a Japanese release this year.

So, something like Medieval Mode or what?

Interesting... Though I wasn't a big fan of Mad World. It felt a bit "canned" as far as Beat Em Ups go.

English version will be called Anarchy Reigns.

I hope they learned a few things from Mad World to improve this with.

Hey, this looks pretty fun.

Finally! A 3d beat-em-up with competetive multiplayer in mind! Devil May Cry didn't have it. Ninja Gaiden didn't have it. Bayonetta didn't have it. Dynasty Warriors had it as a cruddy novelty.

Platinum games is awwwweeesome. Now if only i could actually afford in day one...

Jack and Zero are both pretty high on the "Video game character names used" list.

Few of them are this awesome though. I mean did you see what he did to that leaf? And, you know, the giant lizard creature? Then again Fragile Speedster has never been my kind of playstyle.

Big Bull hereseems to be more my kind of fighter.

It's good to see a MP game lately that isn't some Dudebro shooter. Might consider picking it up if there are a lot of characters.

Everyone knew the protaganist of Mad World would be playable, Platinum. But he looks cool in color nontheless.

I don't like new-Jack.

He somehow looks too bulky and the chains on his costume are dumb and pointless.

Hey, at least they're not Belts or Zippers. We can all appreciate how Chained by Fashion works in a postapocalyptic hellhole.

Better than zippers, but still kinda dumb and pointless.

This is looking pretty awesome so far. Now if only I had a PS 360....

Glad to see the music is back. And that Steve Blum is back. But will it have the announcers?

I can live without two pseudocelebrities making terrible sexual jokes while i'm too busy tearing someone in half with my bare damn hands to even notice.

I'm more interested in seeing a lengthly gameplay session. Nothing but character reveals and combo exhibitions so far.

John and Greg were great as long as quotes weren't recycled too often.

Echoing the desire for this game if I had a PS 360.
