ARC-V episode 3.

Kind of amused at how Yuya looks at the courses they have at LEO corporation's duel school, and goes all "Synchro Summoning...Xyz Summoning...Woah, a Fusion Summoning course?!" given how fusioning is both the earliest of all three...and given how it's totally the most appropriate reaction when considering our current game state(though Shadolls might change that.)

I find the inclusion of Action Trap Cards to be highly interesting, even if it's unlikely for it to actually cause enough disadvantage later on unless the writers are going to be serious about making the duels unpredictable. They have a forced activation when you pick it up and is likely to be detrimental to the one who did, making it more fitting of a trap card than maindecked trap cards.

Wonder if there's going to be an Action Monster Card (would be really weird imo though.)

"Special Card Metamorphosizing Theory". So, that kind of cheating's so common that they teach classes on it?

"Super Polymerization Theory". How would anyone even know about that? I mean...other than Jaden.

"Destiny Draw Probability Theory"...Yes.

Also, Dragonstars are apparently a continuation of the DT storyline.

[up] There's a bunch of Mythology Gags. There's "Grand Unified Duel Theory," which IIRC was the brainchild of that nutty scientist from the second season of GX, and "Fudo-Style Solitaire Theory," which I can only guess is a reference to Yusei's Invincible Hero-ness.

The comments on the class list think it's either "MAKE QUASAR IN ONE TURN" or his way of thinking things through to form big combos.

...Also, "Practicing Influencing your Draws".

[up] Any Call Backs to ZEXAL you can see? If there are, we can be pretty sure all five series take place in the same continuity.

My new Genryuu deck.

Why is it called Toothy Serpents? Its a bit of a Dark Souls joke.

The callbacks are amusing. And yes HT, you got the GX professor reference right (having recently seen Season 2 myself).

In related news: Anyone got some thoughts on this Batteryman build?

I'm thinking maybe one of those Thunderhorses can come out, since I only have 4 full sets of targets for it (AAA, 9V, Ma and PA)?

So yeah, new Star Seraphs are pretty fair. Also...I put the Star Seraph boss in my extra deck because...Star Seraphs but um...why am I supposed to ever want to summon it?

If we're already making jokes about how commonly Deus ex Machina wins duels three episodes in, I can already tell this is going to be a very self-aware series.

Also, that field spell that gets played for this two-parter's Action Duel is totally riffing on London and the Tower of London, just like Dark City and Clock Tower Prison.

About how anyone knows about Super Polymerization... Pegasus is apparently deceased by 5D's (a "Pegasus Memorial Foundation" is mentioned in one episode), so maybe he stipulated in his will that all the world-destroying cards should be mass produced or something. Doesn't he just seem like the type who'd do that?

Well, I get that there are probably mass produced copies of it that aren't made of souls or capable of wiping out pretty much everything in existence, I'm just saying...the section of the class list that it's in seems to be more dedicated to supernatural weirdness than game mechanics. Also, I still find it amusing that there's basically a class on deck stacking.

The "mass-producing formerly evil/one-of-a-kind cards" might that we'll see other people using Numbers, albeit ones made of plain old cardboard, and not whatever it is the originals are made of.

It'd be pretty weird to see some random guy Yuya's dueling using something like Number C101 in conjunction with Number 104.

Also, I still find it amusing that there's basically a class on deck stacking.

Given the amount of people that say online dueling doesn't work because the shuffling is shit/the cards you draw aren't the same/it's not like how it will work out in real life/whatever variant, I think that would be the most important class in the entire school.

If it wasn't for how they just let their Disks shuffle their cards for them.

Maybe it's their equivalent of a computer programming class and it's actually how to mark your cards/hack your disk in such a way that it will put whatever you need on top.

Or it's about the Heart of the Cards.

DARK LAW CONFIRMED

Wait, was he the revealed Masked HERO? Meh, whatever, DARK LAW.

He's totally still going to be a vanilla 2400 beater.

And now watch as Dark Law is completely pointless compared to Kouga and no one plays him. Also, I find it kinda odd that he's so...un-Kamen Rider-y, given that that seems to be the general theme for the Masked Heroes.

[up]x18 Wait wait wait. "Fudo-Style Solitaire Theory?" Does that mean Arc-V references Yusei's family by name? Is that the first time since the crossover movie there's been an explicit mention of a character from a past show?

I've testing out some Shadoll stuff and I'm wondering...does BLS fit with the deck? I mean, at the moment, I'm not really playing many lights, but Fusion lets me dump a light and a dark from the deck to the graveyard.

...So, I've hit Bottomless Trap Hole pretty much every time I send Dragon to summon Nephilim...the problem being that it then gets chained on to banish her/it.

Also...this is a thing...

[up][up]No. As best we can tell, it refers to Non-Action duels, since this guy is apparently a believer in them. Also, spelling Yusei's family name was "Fudo" and this is "Fudou".

actually Yusei's name is Fudou based on the reading of the Japanese characters unless they give it a special way of saying it (which could be anything they want it to be)

his given name also could be Yuusei but there actually is an official way of saying the first chinese character as Yu (I don't remember which way they said it in the Japanese audio though)

checking the image, it does have the same chinese characters as Yusei's surname (不動) but it is also true that it means "unmoving" or "no movement" (kind of funny given 5D's Speed Duels)
