So I'm hugging Ichigo Pocky, and we're watching a film together. This one's... pretty good, and I know it's not the same author as before since we mention Ichigo Montoya and I mention how I had a date with him in Cannes, and how that one was relatively innocent and how this one doesn't seem to want to go too far.
... The author seems to have taken their time to make us all relatively in character, so I can't complain, especially for how clean it is in comparison to others with this pairing.

... well, that was unexpected. And while the writing was nothing special, I was pleasantly surprised that the (American) author knew that Portuguese and not Spanish is the language of Brazil, so a minor point there. And the communication troubles the characters had reminds me that someday I need have to learn more Portuguese than just the fun swear words I picked up from Dan.

That was wrong on too many levels to count. The issues with age, Character Derailment, and people's issues and lives being spontaneously cured by sex, (and their entire personalities being changed afterwards into happy WASPs with conventional US values) was just scratching the surface of what's wrong.
Not only was it a bad story, it makes me hope the writer wises up before having sex or relationships, (right now it's pretty obvious that they're completely ignorant of both) because otherwise they might be in for a rude awakening if they're still this naive when that time comes.
... the story almost had me enjoying it and the character interactions until the first sex scene. Then it did the literary equivalent of a car going right off a bridge and into a river.
Still, the author has some talent and probably needs to write more to improve the final product.
