I'm sure there are valid examples on the page though—I don't see the need to cut the entire thing out.
Just the ones that go "this one has a pretty big fanbase".
The big problem is how to judge which ones are personal examples and which ones are actual memes, other than the obvious Solid/Naked Snake.
And, again, if we do keep, we should change the tone of the examples to reflect the fact that not everyone sits in the middle of the Kinsey scale or prefers the same type of mate. Starting with rephrasing everything of an "everyone is x for y" nature.

I disagree. That leaves the trope open to "you find this character hot", which is a problem we're having with Mr. Fanservice. Perverse Sexual Lust counts.
Memetic Sex God can be accounted for objectively. It doesn't matter if you think they're disgusting if the great majority have meme-ified that they're a sex god/dess.
I'd say start by removing examples you know aren't right. Remove examples that say things like "he's not as popular as some other characters on the show..." or "among a certain segment of the fanbase...". Wiki Magic should help clear it up.
My real problem is I don't hang around in the right circles; the only ones I know do fit are the Snakes and a couple others- I have no idea which ones are just wrong, and which ones are apropriate but phrased oddly. And I don't have any attraction whatsoever to 90% of 'em, so I'm way too biased to cull myself, as I'd end up assuming that whoever I'm attracted to are the memetic ones. I know enough to know that this is full of bias and such (a lot of entries need to be rephrased- several that I'm fairly certain of are phrased in terms of personal attraction or "you will want them to do x to you" or in-universe statments rather than a statment of the fandom's opinion (even a statement that "according to the fandom" or "in a meme on board x" prefacing the statement would do), so if I went by proper phrasing in culling I'd cut a lot of the few I know are right, and many I assume are right that I don't know. And because of the phrasing of most of these, its impossible to tell from the entry if it is a statement of fandom opinion or editor opinion, as both are phrased the same way- meaning the only way to know is to know your memes.
In short, if we want to keep examples, we need an expert on sexual memes, preferably an asexual or very impersonal one. Not being one but knowing enough to know that we have a buttload of bad examples, I suggest example elimination, mostly because its the only thing I can safely say I can do without making the article even worse.

From what I read, there is a problem, but not an insurmountable one. More or less, this isn't about "certain characters are hot" or even "lots of folks think this character is hot" but rather "this character is so sexual, people make jokes about it." This requires research/prefacing, as outlined above. For instance, a bland statement that "David Bowie is hot!" or even "Many people think David Bowie is hot!" doesn't count. On the other hand, the business about seeing Labryinth taking away your virginity would. To use a more obscure example, calling Jon Hamm hot isn't sufficient...but citing his SNL appearance (in which jokes about his ability to get dresses to fall are made) is. I know meme=/=joke, but in this case...it kind of does.
A not-insignifigant number of the examples seem to be in-work instead of fandom...those would be easy cuts for anyone that has time to deal with low-hanging fruit.
I'm vaguely disturbed at the large number of examples of the form "everyone is Alice for Bob". Is that Memetic Sex God or just crazy Shipping?

That is the canonical meme form of Memetic Sex God, yes. Alice, in that varient, is generally the canon love interest of Bob.

There are SOME good in-universe examples, such as Tony Stark. It just needs a very good pruning, in my opinion.
We probably will need to start splitting the page into sections as well. It looks like it's about at that size.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadQuickly going through the list, some of the worst offenders (my counting may be off):
Axis Powers Helatia - 19 Naruto - 15 L Ps/game reviews - 12 Pokemon - 11 (plus more in the video games section) Bleach - 11 Avatar - 10 Code Geass - 9 Guilty Gear - 8 Kingdom Hearts - 8
In most of those cases it seems to basically be a laundry list of "characters that some/lots of people find attractive" which may be true, but is general enough as to not make a very good trope.
I suspect the subtle difference that we're looking for that distinguishes this from "some characters are hot" (which is People Sit On Chairs) is that there's a meme attached to that attractiveness—specifically, the meme that the character can basically bed anyone he/she wants (in the fandom, at any rate)—or taken to ridiculous extremes, doesn't even need to bed someone to have had sex with them (the David Bowie's crotch thing). That's pretty easy to verify.
Does it count if the meme originates from this site's forums? Just in case we do find such examples, that is.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think Mister Darcy shows how this trope should probably be executed. Problem is, everyone thinks that way about their example.
These tropes that are supposed to be about memes or entire fandoms (like Crowning Moment Of Awesome) always turn out to be more subjective than you'd think they would be, because inevitably people lose sight of the "memes or entire fandoms" part, especially if enough examples are X Just X, and add "examples" that apply only to themselves.
I'd say this is responsible for the vast majority of the problems we've had with this wiki, and also the vast majority of the Wikipedization of the wiki.
One thing I would like to ask is if one should consider also removing the examples of characters who, in-universe, as sex gods of sort. To give an example, Kratos from Godof War or Tamura Makoto from Boys Empire are not a Memetic Sex gods, because we see these characters have sex with multiple, knowing and consenting partners in their respective series. On the other hand, Archer from Fate Stay Night or David Bowie could still be Memetic Sex Gods, since we're unsure about their sex lives.
But this might lead to more of the same problems already had.
How are they "memetic", though? They sound more like The Casanova or Really Gets Around.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdExactly, Kratos and Makoto are not examples of memetic sex gods because they're not memetic at all, they're canon sex gods. (Well, possibly Makoto not so much since he more just goes along with the girls. don't as how i know this)
And as I said, Archer become the one who got GAR coined, which was a misspelling of "Gay for Archer" (specifically the 'gay' part), but it's never confirmed if he's even ever had sex in any of the routes or his own past, thus, the idea that he's a sex god is purely memetic.
Someone has been getting rid of the redirect on the wiks. Even if the examples are female.
Please join these multinational petitions against ACTA. Sign up now. Every voice counts.^ Possibly someone jumping on this Wiki Talk thread, ahead of any real consensus on what to do about redirects other than "let them be".
All your safe space are belong to TrumpIf this truly needs to be memetic and not actual, then I would note that the current page image probably contributes to Trope Decay.
Bump. And for the record, the trope Sex God has been created today.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
I think we should cut the examples in Memetic Sex God, move them either to discussion or to Perverse Sexual Lust. A lot, if not most, of the postings seem to be more "I find this person sexy and therefor so should everyone else" than "everyone finds these people sexy". As one person noted in the discussion page, its near-offensive how it assumes every reader will find every one of those examples irresistible, regardless of orientation and preferences- either this should become an exampleless trope, or we need a massive culling of examples and changing of tone and grammar to reflect varying mileage.
