Live-action interpretations of old cartoons. I just can't bring myself to hate the idea since I find adaptation so interesting. That said, I do understand that there are problems. These usually boil down to the use of toilet humour, reliance on their cartoon roots, or that they're not gritty enough.

Copy-pasting from the YF Guilty Pleasures thread because it's dead.

Pororo the Little Penguin. I couldn't help it because the main character looks like Piplup, one of my favorite Pokémon. In fact, I Pokefied some of the episodes via fanart, but I consider them as my Old Shame.

Does Deviant Art count? Sure, the majority of uploads is weird garbage but you usually have to go searching for that.

[up] Not anymore you don't. It varies day by day, but sometimes you start seeing weird fetish stuff just a few pages in. It was always there to some extent, but as someone who's been a member for over 10 years, it's way easier to stumble upon now.

As an example, I checked the main page under "popular 24 hours" just now, and found about twelve pictures within the first 300 results that were 1) someone bound and gagged, 2) someone shoving their feet in the "camera", or 3), someone being tickled. About half of them were all three. Not to mention at least three transformation comics, a weight gain comic, and what appeared to be an attempt at making a wedgie sexy.

There's still a lot of genuinely good art in between all the creepy shit, though, especially if you browse by category. I usually use the "undiscovered" tab for the main page because compared to other browsing setups, it has more variety and less creepy.

In the end, I think whether it counts as a guilty pleasure or not depends on what you're looking for.

My guilty pleasure is to watch "reklama", old clips of TV advertisement from the early nineties in Russia with their crude computer-generated graphics in the style of the video-clip of Money for Nothing by Dire Straits but just you know, like ... A decade later, their distasteful free for all tackiness and always with dreadfully dumb and mind-numbing electro-rap music ...

Cruel but fair. evil grin

Christmas with the Kranks. I understand it's a pretty contentious Christmas movie, but if you read the Kranks as being the protagonists the whole time, rather than just at the end, it becomes a lot funnier. Also, it's an inside joke in my family.

Grounded/OS/etc videos. I think they are funny, as long as they don't contain too much swearing or any offensive stuff.

The Animorphs TV show. It's cheesy and campy even compared to the books cheesier moments, but it is so terminally 90's that it becomes charming instead.

[up][up] The name had something to do with how they started with website skins. I don't remember the details, but they didn't mean it that way.

...But yeah, it does describe the site as it is pretty well.

Some of the Disney Channel sitcoms like A.N.T. Farm, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, and Dog with a Blog.

TV idents and bumpers, and production logos in general. Not just on tv or in movies, I deliberately seek compilations on them.

Pretty much any foreign kids' show I can find, bonus points if it's old.

Nuup-Kangerlua, you should look for some Soviet advertisements on Youtube. Starting from the classic, "Московский вентиляторный завод".

There is also provincial advertisement, really cheap, so-bad-it's-good, but somehow better than that stupid advertisement on central TV channels.

Ménage à 3. It's a silly sex comedy with lots of gratuitous fanservice, but it kept me hooked while it lasted.

I actually love the modern episodes of The Nostalgia Critic. Even when the jokes are kind of stupid, they still manage to make me laugh.

I also liked a lot of Big Mouth, even if I cringe at the nudity and some of the more explicit comedy. It has some good character moments, sue me.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Sure, why not? Off the top of my head:

TV: Gilligan’s Island, The Munsters, I Dream of Jeannie, Judge Judy, Millionaire Matchmaker, Queer Eye.

Movies: best I can come up with are Dirty Dancing, The Mask, Liar Liar, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Maybe also count Ed Wood’s films such as Plan Nine from Outer Space, Glen or Glenda, Sinister Urge.

Music: Any greatest hits compilation of songs by The Monkees, Lovin’ Spoonful, The Coasters, Petula Clark, The Turtles, The Dave Clark 5, Tommy James and the Shondells, The Association. “Jingle Jangle” by The Archies. The first album by The Romantics.

Food: past occasional guilty pleasures included potato chips (flavored or otherwise), junky snack cakes, cookies and pastry, ice cream, onion rings, junk sandwiches from fast food spots (usually fish or chicken ones), cracker snack packs, soda and usually the diet variety (especially root beer, cream soda, Dr. Pepper), Polynesian style Chinese cuisine (subgum chow mein, sweet-and-sour whatever, egg foo yung). Can’t indulge in stuff like this anymore.

Bumping the thread to say that the OVA based on Senran Kagura Estival Versus is one for me.

I know the franchise itself can be one, but the two 3DS titles aren't as cheesecake filled as the Playstation ones.

Help me. I can't get it out of my head.

The first season of Bakugan Battle Brawlers.

The action scenes are lame and some of the voice acting is of questionable quality, but the Character Development for the characters, particularly the main six human children, is phenomenal.

Too bad the second season gets rid of half the main human cast (all three original girls), and the cast (both Bakugan and human) only gets more and more unbalanced in its gender ratio (with the females getting the short end of the stick) from that point onwards.

I have become a lot more lenient to Shipping as of late. Not only do I read my friends' ship fics, but I am beginning to write them too. If you would've asked my younger self whether she would write anything other than Gen Fic, the answer would've been a hard "no."

But what can I say. I love seeing my current OTP fall in love again and again, and be happy with one another. I love reading slow burn of them. I love the hugs, the hand holding and the tender words.

I may have become a tad more sentimental than I used to be.

Ah geez, where to start? Honestly the best way to do this is put a bullet point list, so here goes: . Grief people in GTA not for K.D but just for kill count . Watch bad shows on Netflix because nothing good is on Netflix anymore . Pretend to reload nerf guns like actual guns, complete with sounds . Replay Hotline Miami, over and over and over and over and OVER again . Rewatch Hardcore Henry, over andX4 . Walk around my apartment making gun sounds pretending I'm in a shootout with the Russian Mafia . Slowly going insane trying to make sense of Troom Troom on You Tube . Making bullet lists . AND MORE
