Bosses are one of the biggest things I missed in Smash 4, no pun intended. Single-player content is ridiculously lacking, in general.
(Quick, random, unrelated idea: what if Wario had different intro animations depending on his outfit? If he's in his WarioWare biker getup, he rides in on his bike. If he's in his classic overalls, he flies in on his plane from Mario & Wario.)
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Or him getting out of his car if he's in the overalls?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! That works too, but I like the plane a little more. It might be too obscure a reference, though, and if we want to represent Wario Land more, the car is the way to go.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Oh man I forgot he had that purple car back in Wario Land 4 and Double Dash.
I wanna see it come back in Mario Kart 8's Switch port.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Maybe add bosses and such to something like Melee's Adventure mode?
The Brute, his first special kart in MKDS, was pretty similar, too, color scheme aside.
As far as making Wario less -Ware specific, I would opt to work in the Earthshake Punch over Chomp, change Corkscrew to Puffy Wario (maybe even have 'im deflate into Pancake Wario at the top of that lift) and reinstate the shoulder charge as his Forward Smash.

I sure said that! Not as his forward smash, it was changed for a reason...
Being a strong dash tackle, was the best alternative...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.But then he can't eat everything.
No deal.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I too am childishly amused by the rocket farting, motorcycle eating fat man. If anything gets changed, those should stay. They represent Wario's gross and gluttonous side fittingly.
The shoulder bash not being a dash attack was a huge missed opportunity.
Or his pummel being vigorously shaking the opponent.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805My ideal version of Wario would have Earthshake Punch as Down-Smash, Ground Pound as Down-Air, all of his Wario World throws in his grab game, Shake It as Neutral-Special, and Shoulder Bash as Side-Special. Also, a full-power Wario-Man Waft would create a lingering mushroom cloud.
Never underestimate the importance of an open mind and compassionate heart.I'm seeing some good ideas here.
I say keep Chomp as his neutral B, keep Wario Bike as his side-B, move Wario Waft to his up-B (since it propels you upwards anyway), and make Earthshake Punch his down-B. Make the shoulder barge his dash attack and the ground pound his down-air. Basing his throws on Wario World and his pummel on Wario Land: Shake It! is inspired, too.
And as a bonus, here's an idea for his next stage: something based on Virtual Boy Wario Land. Keep the red-and-black color scheme and use the foreground/background mechanic from Jungle Hijinxs, since Virtual Boy Wario Land had something like that too.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I like still having eyesight, so to be honest... No, ditch the red-black color scheme.
I sure said that!I don't think turning the Waft into an Up-B is a good idea. Then what do you do if all you have is a cute little poot saved up?
Changing his dash attack to the shoulder charge, down-throw to the spinning piledriver, and pummel to shaking the enemy sound good, though.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Simple. Take the height it has now at half charge and let that be the normal propulsion, but with no hitbox. Then as it gains charge, the damage scales as it does now, and when it reaches half charge and beyond, it acts the same as you expect it to.
And don't forget, Wario Bike is a recovery move, too. In Brawl, at least, Wario has amazing recovery because he can double jump, Wario Bike, jump, double jump, and Wario Waft in succession.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?I don't think using his bike refreshes his double jump actually.
He gets his double jump, the slight vertical boost of the bike, the more significant vertical boost from dismounting it, a possible fart boost, and then his Up-B. Which is generally more than enough to recover on any stage.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I want to say he's one of the best characters at combined totaling of vertical and horizontal recovery, though he's competing with shenanigans like booster-tapping with R.O.B. in Brawl.
I sure said that!I think we all know Villager wins that one.
All of this talk about Wario's recovery reminds me of this sadly patched out gem from the early days of Smash for 3DS.
Ha ha, that's crazy! I'd never seen that before. Remember the unbeatable strategy where two people would both play as Pac-Man, then go online and dominate every match by bouncing repeatedly on each other's Pac-Jumps until time ran out and their opponent was done in by the raining Sudden Death Bob-Ombs? Wild stuff.
Hey, here's another idea I had, submitted for your approval. What if there was a dedicated Final Smash button, so you could still use your neutral special while holding the Smash Ball? For example, L and R both grab, at least on the Game Cube controller. So maybe R could grab and L could trigger the Final Smash.
Follow-up idea: if there is a dedicated Final Smash button, what if each character had four Final Smashes? You could trigger them like specials (i.e. neutral-L, side-L, up-L, and down-L). I'd much rather have that than custom moves a la Smash 4.
For example, take Kirby. His neutral-L could be a big screen-clearer like Crash, Mike, or Plasma. side-L could be Ultra Sword (as seen in Smash 4), up-L could be Robobot Armor, and down-L could be Cook Kirby, from Brawl.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Or we could just have both...
A major balancing act required, 4 FS destruction moves...seems unnecessary. Sure, each character has a lot of games to pull from...except not all.
But this idea does add to the chaos of Smash Bros. A+
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I'm actually not a big fan of custom moves. Not only are they a pain in the ass to unlock, most of them are pretty lame. Only Palutena and Mega Man have good ones (and the DLC characters don't have any at all).
Speaking of Final Smashes, though, do you guys like the Smash Ball, or should there be a more egalitarian method of enabling them?
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?A method that makes them suitable for tournaments maybe.

Where there's life, there's hope.
I've toyed with the idea of Bosses appearing in an expanded Smash Run as the highest possible prize and greatest possible task behind a Challenge Door. That would probably demand that the game be made to last longer than it does currently, though.
I sure said that!
