This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

Hooray for actually resolving a subplot.
I predict a sudden transition to another subplot and we come back to the consequences of this one later.
It's called "elliptical storytelling". It keeps the pacing snappy, even though it's not always the easiest thing to follow.
Mathematics Is A Language.Let's face it - that was a kickass move by V in the latest comic. I am personally getting sick of all these loose plot threads running about which have little to do with the main story. This one particularly disappointed me with the orc island mini-arc and Therkla who was headed for scrappy status before she died.
They must have stumbled into that alternate dimension.
As for V's move...I just hope there are some consequences. The Giant's usually pretty good about that though. Although if there's a Hand Wave, I'd be okay if it's humorous enough, I guess.

Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count Dorku"Can we please get back to saving the world?"
V essentially summed up my sentiments with that remark. Looks like I'm not the only who feels this way, either.
Battles against Xykon always become truly epic, and it's high time the comic moved in the direction of another one for a change.
Add me on Skype: Al Cook (darnpenguin)Damn.
I am seriously, seriously in love with the V-(wo)man here. Is this the Dangerously Genre-Savvy beginning of a Face–Heel Turn?
Not that it would matter. I'll still love you, V.
the dice are loaded, the deck is stacked, the game itself will hold you backIt could just be the lack of sleep getting to him/her. V just became one of my top 5 web comic characters within the last 2 strips.
Umbran Climax◊Oh man, I think this is Elan's Crowning Moment Of Awesome. It's definitely a nice change from "wait, what was so bad about your uncle?" - although "not killing a helpless surrendered enemy" is more straightforward than Shojo!ethics.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuCrowning. Moment. Of. Funny. I could not stop laughing at this strip for a couple of minutes. Not to mention we have signs of decent character development from both Elan and V!

I'm not sure which of those two is the most awesome at the moment. This is definitely my favourite comic right now.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffThis comic has my favorite V pose. 1 finger up, eyes closed, talking about how great she is.
Could you imagine how dangerous V would be if he got some sleep?
And yes, I just added an extra sentence so that the pronoun balance could work.
Mathematics Is A Language.Well, we have rotated Arcs. We have gone from an Elan arc to a V arc. I like it.
Mathematics Is A Language.Hooray for actually having a V arc. I mean, for the longest time she was really the least fleshed-out and least unique character on the team. Course, OH NO for what V's doing. . . an intervention now seems necessary for sure once she's threatened to kill one of her party members.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)How awesome would it be if this was Elan pulling off some Obfuscating Stupidity?
Okay, that's kind of a far shot, particularly since Rule of Funny edges out Rule of Cool in OotS, but still.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuSeriously, what's going to happen to Vaarsuvius? S/he did zing Elan good mentioning how he's not all obsessed with Haley like hir, but threatening your partymates is never a good sign.
Besides, it seems s/he's only doing it out of shame for having turned invisble and fleeing during the battle for Azure city.
What's that I smell? Character development?
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)So Durkon and Kazumi in the top three panels...I'm guessing that he's letting her know that the baby is okay despite the stress?
Also, that is easily the best headstone anyone has ever gotten.
Elan's eulogy seems to be a little better than his inspiring speeches. Except for the "he's dead, too, so you guys have that in common." Hopefully Therkla found an angel (or whatever divine being is at whichever plane she's on) to help her watch this.

Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuHopefully she doesn't end up in any lower plane. I was hoping she'd at least be a normal sub character though (I guess it's still possible if she is shown in the afterlife though).
Umbran Climax◊No, I'm pretty sure she's officially "written out" now.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)I have to wonder what kind of afterlife she's got lined up. She's definitely one of the Evil alignments, but she ended up doing some good at the end, which could either redeem her, and get her into a better afterlife, or get her in trouble with the lower-downs on whatever plane she's supposed to go to for not being true to her alignment.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.next strip will be number 600, and we all know what round numbers mean.
the statement above is falseLooking back at the archives, you're right. I fear for V right now.
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)
Well they are in need of an arcane caster... are elves and demons enemies in any Dn D source? Really, though, I think the LG has given up on recruiting, and will be sticking to three. Nale said as much.
