- Adorkable:
- Maira, her love for comedy, and her goofy catchphrase (APO~N!) make her quite endearing.
- Asahi has his moments as well, particularly whenever he expresses his crush on Yume.
- Americans Hate Tingle: Akihito Sugiyama, or just Ackey, is more hated in the West than he is in Japan (where he’s at least a Base-Breaking Character), mostly because of the fact he was (unintentionally) one of the reasons his brother Haruhito turned into a bad guy in the first place and him being a boring one-note character in general. and some accuse him of being a Creator's Pet due to the Character Shilling he got in season 1 and his overexposure in Mix at the expense of almost anyone who isn't Yume, notably Asahi who’s suffered from a massive decrease of focus in this season. and him developing a crush on Yume since episode 14 of Mix didn't make his case any better, as many find it to be poorly handled and just an excuse to give him even more screentime.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: For some reason, episode 18's title card includes Aoi in it. Sure, he appears in the episode, but he doesn't really play a major role in it.
- Fan Nickname: "Pancakes" for Tsugi and Hagi, referencing how flat they are.
- Jerkass Woobie: Yuni. When he fell down, nobody ever came to pick him up for what seemed to be a very long time until Lyra gave him life, and made him her servant, this was the same reason why he made Tsugi and Hagi because he was all alone. even if he was a bad guy, you can't help but feel sorry for him.
- Moe:
- Most of the female characters count, particularly Yume, Maira, Kaede, Wakaba, and Morimura among others.
- Asahi can be adorable as well, thanks to his friendly personality and his crush on Yume, and then there's also episode 41...
- What about Yume and Asahi as babies? so freaking adorable!
- The Dreamy Mates in general are quite adorable, even Yuni can be huggable as well, and then season 2 introduces Cheer the baby.
- Second Season Downfall: While the first season is generally seen as mediocre, at least it developed a small but dedicated fanbase over the course of its run, the second season Mix, on the other hand, is near-universally considered to be a huge step-down. if not because of the monthly Ichi-Naru episodes (as a result of the sudden Audience Shift and budget cut) which harmed the show's run for those who watched it weekly, then it’s the inferior new characters (although Akumu has her fans), dumbed-down and sometimes aimless storylines that often add nothing to the overarching story, most of the side characters (especially the parents) have been heavily sidelined, lower quality animation and constant off-models, and over-reliance on plot points that come out of nowhere, particularly in the second half of the season. As a result, most people who were into the show since season 1 had lost interest.
- Self-Fanservice: Judging by their fanarts on Pixiv, Yume and Maira are pretty much Rule 34 artists' favorite characters, especially the latter.
- So Okay, It's Average: This is the general consensus for this show as a whole, especially among the Sanrio fandom. While the character designs and many of the voice actings are well-liked and there are some funny and good moments here and there, most viewers find the characters (especially the Dreamy Mates) to be bland, underdeveloped and underutilized, and the magical girl aspect and the writing overall to be uninspired and full of wasted potentials.
- Strangled by the Red String: Ackey's crush on Yume at the end of episode 14 of Mix comes across as this to some people, the show treated it as Love at First Sight, but he interacted with her a few times before and didn’t seem to have any kind of affection towards her until this episode.
- Suspiciously Similar Song: The ending song to Mix, Daisuki Sekai by Icchy and Naru, sounds awfully similar to the second opening of My Hero Academia season 4, Starmarker by Kana-Boon.
- They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Some people accuse this show of copying several elements, such as some of the characters and plot points, from Onegai My Melody, another Sanrio property.
- This also happened that time fans said they copied from the plot points of Jewelpet, which is also a Sanrio property.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The fact that Yume is the only dream partner that can become a magical girl and enter dreams is highly disappointing and baffling to a lot of viewers, considering that they all have dreamy mates. and episode 27 only makes things WORSE. You make amazing costumes for the rest of the squad AND give them Mewkle sticks only to make them borrowed only? Thankfully, this is no longer true as of Mix, although some viewers argue whether it was handled well or not.
