Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island, also known as Daffy Duck's Movie: Fantastic Island is a 1983 Compilation Movie starring Daffy Duck, Speedy Gonzales and other classic Looney Tunes characters. Directed mainly by Friz Freleng (and one of the last films he directed before his retirement), this film combines newly-animated footage linked with classic Warner Bros. cartoons. It is the fourth film in the Looney Tunes compilation movie anthology, and the first to focus on Daffy.
In this parody of Fantasy Island, castaways Daffy and Speedy discover a magic wishing well and decide to use it to fulfill the wishes of many of their fellow Looney Tunes (at a hefty price, of course), their wishes shown through the events of the featured cartoons.

- Advertised Extra: Bugs Bunny featured heavily in the advertising, but only appears in two of the cartoons, and doesn't appear in any of the new animated scenes besides the end of the opening credits.
- The Bad Guy Wins: Sam uses the wells last wish to wish for a new ship, getting himself and Taz off the island. Sam promises to pick up Daffy and Speedy after he defeats Bugs Bunny, which clearly won't happen, though.
- Benevolent Genie: The wishing well behaves as such, giving wishes to customers as they wish, and being quite affable. However, some of the wishes don't end well for the wisher (Daffy wishes to be a sueprhero, but ends up back on the island and acts like he no longer has powers, Porky wishes to be a producer but dislikes the talent that auditions, Sam wishes to become rich but loses the fortune by the start of the cartoon shown), and Foghorn Leghorn doesn't even get his wish.
- Borrowed Catchphrase: It's the Wishing Well spirit, not Porky Pig, who delivers the "That's All, Folks!" at the end.Wishing Well: And now I say, without the jokes, Th-th-th-th-th-That's all, folks!
- Compressed Adaptation: Several of the featured shorts suffer from this to fit in with the film's running time. Notably, "Captain Hareblower", "Banty Raids", "Louvre Come Back To Me!" and "Curtain Razor" have significant portions of their plots edited out. In the case of "Curtain Razor", the ending (and a Running Gag leading up to it) may well have been dropped because Freleng recycled it for "Show Biz Bugs", which had been prominently featured in The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie.
- Compilation Movie: Combines newly-animated footage linked with classic Warner Bros. cartoons. Taken further with Prissy's wish as it starts with the opening scene of Of Rice and Hen before seguing into the plot of Lovelorn Leghorn.
- Convection, Schmonvection: Sam and Daffy chase the map into a field of hot volcanic rock, not noticing the heat until Speedy points it out. Other than burning their feet, they suffer no ill effects.
- Downer Ending: Being Looney Tunes, this is done through Rule of Funny. The island reverts back to a barren desert after the map is destroyed, and some Wasteful Wishing leaves Daffy and Speedy no better than they were before, only now with a burrito glued to Speedy's nose. Sam meanwhile wishes for a new vessel to chase Bugs with, promising to bail the others out as soon as he blasts the rabbit. Knowing the chances of that happening, Daffy is none too happy.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Sam could have just wished to get rich, but he specifically wishes to have a rich relative to die and leave him his fortune.
- Killed Offscreen: Non-sapient example. The treasure map is destroyed off-screen as a result of Sam and Daffy's chase.
- Macguffin: Sam's treasure map. As the Wishing Well spirit explains to Daffy and Speedy, its bearer has their authority over the well itself. In other words, the spirit obeys every command of whoever is holding the map.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Daffy after he wishes Speedy's burrito stuck to his nose in anger and, in a rare Pet the Dog moment, actually considers using the last one to reverse it. Too bad Sam already used his wish.
- Quicksand Sucks: Daffy walks into a patch of quicksand and sinks within seconds. He then manages to walk himself out of it.
- Rhymes on a Dime: The Wishing Well spirit speaks in this manner.
- Shout-Out: The final scene is one to The Ludicrous Wishes.
- Speedy at one point suggests to Daffy that he can wish for E.T. to get home.
- Title Drop: By Daffy himself.
- Took a Level in Kindness: While Daffy and Speedy were enemies in most of their shorts, here the two are on friendlier terms, with Daffy only occasionally being annoyed with Speedy (and bossing him around a little when they look for the treasure). Additionally, when Speedy uses his last wish for a burrito, Daffy tells him that he wasted a wish. Out of annoyance, Daffy mistakenly wishes for the burrito to stick to his nose, but rather than cheat Sam out of his wish, suggests Sam wish for the burrito to get off Speedy's nose.
- Wasteful Wishing: After the island reverts back to its original state due to the map being destroyed, the Wishing Well announces that he has enough magic for a wish each for Daffy, Speedy and Sam. Speedy is hungry and wishes for a burrito. Daffy, angry at Speedy for wasting his wish, wishes the burrito was stuck to his nose. Daffy then asks Sam to use his wish to get the burrito off Speedy's nose, but Sam had already wished for a new ship to escape, leaving the other two stranded.
- Wishing Well: The plot is set off by a talking wishing well, who is controlled by whoever is (literally) holding the treasure map. He gives free wishes until Daffy decides to start a business to allow guests to drop a penny into the well for a wish.
- Whole-Plot Reference: The main plot is a parody of Fantasy Island, with Daffy as Mr. Roarke and Speedy as Tattoo.
