Luigi Yoshi Shell is a Youtube channel normally focusing on gaming, Super Mario Bros., and, most famously, plushie videos. The creator, Matthew, commonly features Mario Master 412 in his videos, and created many projects with him.

    Channel Wide Tropes
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: He virtually has to be this, because in every plush video, he voices nearly every character.
  • Running Gag: Often, the same plush is used to portray a different character in a series. His excuse? The previous character was just that character's idiot brother/cousin. This is a shared sentiment with Mario Master 412.

    Plush Videos (pre-2020)note
  • Bait-and-Switch: In The Villains Club:
Dry Bones: Boo, that is the worst and most awful idea I've ever heard. Let's do it!
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In Villains Club, multiple characters are turned from the good side to the bad side to fight against other good guys.
  • Continuity Snarl: Sonic reacts to his own trailer. He critiques how he looks in the trailer. This raises some questions about the universe this is set in.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Super Sonic fighting King Dedede.
    • Mario ambushing the villains club.
    • Mario easily defeats Joey in Joey's Dream.
  • Evil Laugh: Bowser has a pretty funny one in Villains Club. "Moohaha".
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: In Dedede's Chips, Dedede says "[Super Sonic] will never find me here", then Super Sonic appears.
  • Montages: As customary for Luigi Yoshi Shell, these are used to show characters acting out plans.
  • Oh, Crap!: Dedede lets out a frail "oh, no" right before being attacked.
  • Rapid-Fire "No!": Joey in Joey's Dream when he's being attacked.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Simpleton Voice: Sonic, Dedede, and Knuckle's voices are all pretty dopey.
  • Take That!: Sonic spends a whole video tearing into the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog (2020).
  • Three... Two... One...: In Villains Club, Luigi says this while Mario is getting ready to attack Bowser.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: King Dedede has his chips.
  • Villain Protagonist: The first two videos in Villains Club have Bowser as the protagonist, leading a group of villains to attack Mario.

    Plush Videos (post-2020)
  • Anachronism Stew: In Luigi's Quest, Mario is watching Sharkboy and Lavagirl in theaters, even though the movie came out in 2005 and the video came out in mid 2020.
  • And This Is for...: The eagle in Knuckles's Easter Problem farts on Knuckles for every bad thing he's done.
  • Art Shift: In Mario's To-Do List, it shifts from a plush video to an anime parody, then back again.
  • Artifact of Attraction: In Knuckles's Easter Problem, everyone is weirdly sexually attracted to the chocolate bunny.
  • Big Brother Bully: Downplayed with Mario and Luigi. Mario certainly isn't nice to Luigi. He's very controlling and rude. He also hits him with a Thwomp. The two normally get along, though.
  • Butt-Monkey: The terrible Super Mario 3D World plush is usually the butt of the joke.
  • Call-Back: A few.
    • In The Koopa Family Reunion, Mario takes revenge on Bowser for kidnapping him in Luigi's Quest.
    • The reporter from Attack Of The Goomba is one of the members in Bowser's lair.
  • Dynamic Entry: Bowser's brother entering throws someone to the ground... twice.
  • Expendable Clone: Downplayed with Luigi's clone: he usually does what Luigi orders him to do, but Luigi is devastated when he's kidnapped.
  • Faint in Shock: Toadsworth does this when Sonic comes out of a hat.
  • Family Disunion: The Koopa Family Reunion becomes pretty chaotic when the uncles and aunts reveal themselves to be Mario variants in disguise.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: In the hat, Sonic and Super Sonic team up against Eggman in the end.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: Bowser tries to invoke this in The Christmas Get Together.
  • Holiday Episode: A couple.
    • The Great Plushie Christmas Get Together, is, of course, Christmas.
    • Knuckles's Easter Problem is Easter.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: In To-Do List, Bowser calls out Mario for leaning on the fourth wall.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: In The Koopa Family Reunion, Iggy, very casually, mentions he thinks he broke his legs.
  • Montages: As is customary for Luigi Yoshi Shell, these are used to show characters acting out plans.
  • Mouthy Kid: Bowser Jr. is this to Bowser.
Bowser Jr.: Why can't you just say what the normal dads say when their kid turns 13, like "Good job, son, for surviving this long"?
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: In The Hat, Sonic gains the ability to fly right before hitting the ground.
  • Noodle Incident: Bowser hates Dry Bones and Boo for some unspecified reason.
  • Oh, Crap!: In Knuckles's Easter Problem, the bunny lets out a tiny "oh, no" right before getting punched.
  • Potty Humor: A few jokes rely on this.
    • Wario's farts.
    • Knuckles going to the bathroom, with egregious sound effects.
    • The eagle farting on Knuckles.
  • Robot Me: In To-Do List, Luigi has a robot clone called "Luigi.Bot".
  • Shout-Out: Many.
  • Simpleton Voice: Quite a few.
    • Super Sonic and Morton's voices are pretty dopey.
    • Iggy's squeaky voice.
    • Donkey Kong's deep voice.
  • Stylistic Suck: The anime parody in To-Do List is intentionally crappy. The voice dubbing is poor, and the Bowser toy is clearly smaller than the human actor.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Knuckles's chocolate bunny being taken away from him is what starts the plot of Knuckles's Easter Problem.
