PWA, also known as PixelWolf Animation, is a New Zealand YouTube channel specializing in 3D Countryball videos. Most of his videos contain the countryballs in various situations, varying from skits to educational-styled videos. Whilst he is best known for his Countries Scaled by series, in which countryballs are scaled based off some criteria, such as land area or internet speed, he also has various other skit-based series such as The Heist, USA Knows Flags, and Countries Compare.

PWA started with uploading Countries in Minecraft in 2018, though he later branched out to more general skits such as Bird of the Year and USA Goes All In. He uploaded his first Scaled by video in 2021, and subsequent releases in the series would gain millions of views, turning it into his signature series.

PWA contains examples of...

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: In Countries Compare Alcohol, before Mexico was about to mention his favorite drink, the other countries interrupt him, with USA saying that everyone knows what it is. Russia then screams "TEQUILA!" and Mexico's focus diverts as he ways "WHERE?".
  • Audience Participation: Some animations, such as A Stone-Aged Adventure, Down In Ohio, and Delete This have their scripts and events entirely written by his stream chat. As a result, random and unexpected things may happen such as Canada being gifted an exploding tea bag from the UK pretending to be Mexico, Ohio and Florida attacking each other while the Philippines performs a pop song, and the USA growing limbs, turning into a "countryhuman" and attacking India with a diamond sword.
  • Author Avatar: The blue ball in his avatar makes cameos in some videos such as Countries Scaled by PWA Subscribers and Careers Day.
  • Berserk Button:
    • In USA Knows Flags 4, India threatens USA with a tank after he was called Pakistan by the latter.
    • Italy takes food way too seriously, that in Cooking with UK, he starts getting mad when UK doesn't give the recipes to Yorkshire Pudding and Bangers and mash, and pulls out his pizza cutter after UK makes his "toast sandwich".
  • Bollywood Nerd: India is often portrayed as a tech genius.
  • The Bus Came Back: Excluding compliations and Scaled by videos, the first time Russia makes a major appearance since Countries Compare Books is in Careers Day, which is nine months after the former video's release.
  • Call-Back: In Episode 1 of The Heist 3, USA mentions how UK is originally about to recruit Jamaica to the team. In the finale, it turns out that Jamaica is trying to warn the countryballs that instead of stealing the Lazer Kiwi, New Zealand is about to give each of them their own lazer bird.
  • Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys: Parodied in Martian Encounter, where when every other countries puts down their own national flag, France puts down a plain white flag.
  • Classified Information: Russia's gimmick. In some Scaled by videos he refuses to give the exact numbers because he considers them to be "state secrets".
  • Crossover: The Countryverse, with MrSpherical and Drew Durnil.
  • Culture Equals Costume: Some countryballs have head accessories, such as Canada with his beaver fur hat, France with his beret, Australia with his wide brimmed hat, and Mexico with his sombrero.
  • Flashback: In The Heist 3 finale, Jamaica travels back in time to Countries Scaled by Inflation, Countries on Mars, and even the first installment of The Heist.
  • Football Hooligans: Brazil is portrayed this way in Countries Scaled by World Cup wins, to the point that he gets mad whenever other countries get his geography wrong.
  • Gun Nut: When he's not talking about himself or freedom, the USA will talk about guns, and even takes pride in being the biggest ball in Countries Scaled by Gun Ownership.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In The Heist 3 finale, Canada saves USA from being hit by a laser by jumping into the laser himself.
  • The Host: As the face of the Webcomics/Polandball series, Poland often hosts gameshows such as Guess the Country, Countryball Millionaire, and Countryball Shark Tank.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In Careers Day.
    Sweden: Become a YouTuber!
    PWA: No thanks.
  • Identical Stranger: Poland, Monaco, and Indonesia are all alike with absolutely nothing to distinguish each of them, making countries hard to pick out who's who. However, in Countries Scaled by Median Age, Monaco and Indonesia have a different shade of red.
  • Idiot Hero: The USA is one of the most recurring characters in PWA's videos, and he is really bad at geography, especially identifying other countries' flags. In Guess the Country, he keeps guessing US states even though country outlines are being shown.
  • It's All About Me: Every time USA appears in the Countries Scaled by series, he strives to be the biggest ball, even in categories that may seem more unpleasant to be bigger at, such as obesity rates.
  • Leitmotif: All of the Countries Scaled by videos have the same music in them.
  • Nice Guy: Canada is one of the nicer characters of the series, and is often seen apologizing.
  • Non-Standard Character Design:
    • Ohio originally debuted in a "cube" shape in How I Met Your Imperialist, before changing to a more proper "rawr" shape starting from Down In Ohio, released two years later.
    • Nepal, like Ohio, is shaped like its own flag, but unlike in Countryball webcomics, he doesn't have the teeth.
    • Surprisingly averted with Singapore and Kazakhstan, who are not portrayed as a triangle and a brick, respectively, but instead regular countryballs.
  • Pun: These are prevalent in some Scaled by videos. Such examples are from Countries Scaled by Dogs.
UK: (after Australia shrinks) Well that's ruff
UK: What do you call an Italian dog? A parmesanian!
UK: Have you chaps fur-given me for the puns yet?
China: I think I need to go to the dentist, one of my canines is loose.
  • Quintessential British Gentleman: The UK wears a top hat and monocle (which is on par with Countryball standards), and often addresses other countries with "chap".
  • This Cannot Be!:
    • In Countries Scaled by Tea Consumption, the UK, who is put in the end because he believes he will be the biggest, is surprised after hearing how much tea is consumed per year, per person, in Turkey.
    • Despite taking pride in his music industry and its popularity, South Korea is surprised that he is placed first in the line and ended up becoming the smallest countryball in Countries Scaled by Music. Apparently, the balls are scaled based on hours of listening to music per week.
  • Weaponized Animal: New Zealand's Lazer Kiwi.
