I. M. Meen Gets a New Job is a series of YouTube Poops made by rossw79. It focuses on the adventures of Ignatius Mortimer Meen after he loses his evil labyrinth and his library, the infamous front for his labyrinth, is closed. So far, it has 57 episodes.

After the series departed from their original premise, a spin-off titled "Meen Jobs" was released, returning the series to its original premise of I. M. Meen trying out new jobs. The spin-off series has 9 episodes total.

This series contains examples of...

  • Aborted Arc: After a few episodes, the show becomes less and less about I. M. Meen finding a new role in life and more about him living in a world where anything can become dangerous and attack him and his friends. To rectify this, rossw79 released the spin-off series titled "Meen Jobs", done in the style of the earlier episodes where Meen tries out various jobs.
  • Bad Future: Meen travels to one from Episodes 33-39.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Subverted in one of the episodes. You think that it would be a Rickroll, but it turns out the main crew is just watching it on TV.
  • Blah, Blah, Blah: Parodied in the 46th episode. The teacher is making trumpet sounds (a la Peanuts). When the camera is on the teacher, it turns out it's a man with a trumpet for a head!
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In Episode 51, the entire sequence of "Meenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" turns out to be just a TV series idea Meen pitches to Squidward Tentacles, the executive producer in charge of Squidward Pictures. Squidward rejects it and comments, "I mean, who in the world would watch an I. M. Meen show?" Both Meen and Squidward then knowingly look at the camera.
  • Dangerous Workplace: In Episode 6, I. M. Meen applies to job in the Aperture Science, only to regret it when he keeps getting either injured, nauseated, or flung into space due to the extremely unsafe experiments. He also has trouble with a time machine.
  • Eldritch Abomination: By episode 54, the Pirate's World ice cream bunny turns out to be this; an amorphous mass around a skull. Even before that, when a Nuckelavee is scared of something, you run.
  • Enemy Mine: Neem M. I. works together with I. M. Meen in the 42nd episode to bring the latter back into existence. His reasoning is that if I. M. Meen won't be born, then Neem M. I. would never come into existence, either.
    • Episodes 52 and 54. When confronted with the bunny, Meen half the FNAF 1 cast (Bonnie and Foxy were captured two episodes prior at the pizzeria,) and the FNAF 2 cast band together to save the others.
  • Energy Absorption: The start of the main plot in episode 30. As Pandora explains, when Broly turned into an Oozaru in episode 28, he emanated a large amount of excess energy that Hades used to empower himself. This also gives Pandora her Amazon form, and led to her and Broly hooking up.
  • Fusion Dance:
    • I. M. Meen and Weegee fuse together in episode 6 to create I. M. Weegee.
    • At the climax of episode 42, I. M. Meen and Neem M. I. fuse together to form Meeneem to destroy Meenie and exist once again.
    • Several in episode 54.
  • Gainax Ending: Episode 55. Meen, Bedlam, and the male volcano from Lava are in a Mexican standoff... then Mr. Six shows up, does his dance, and brings everyone to Six Flags. Meen returns to the group... only to realize he hasn't found the sodas they wanted.
  • It's a Wonderful Plot: In Episode 42, after Meen's house is destroyed and he gets arrested for petty crimes, he wishes to be never born. Meenie the Meen Sprite overhears him and removes him from existence, showcasing what happened without him existing. To name, Weegee, without Meen as a friend, turned to conquest and renamed the west to Weegeeland, Gwoman became a macho (admittedly one of the few positive things to happen without him), Broly and Pandora are still in relationship, but have no children, and Ophelia Chill marries CDi Link. Realizing the wrongness of his wish, he wishes to undo his wish and return to live again, but Meenie decides to not bring him back and actually tried to kill him for good. I. M. Meen is saved by Neem M. I., who was removed from existence with him, and together they destroy Meenie and return to life once again.
  • My Life Flashed Before My Eyes: The 45th-47th episodes, aptly titled "The Magic Origin of I. M. Meen". As I. M. Meen is about to drive into a lake with a golf cart at a high speed, his life flashes before his eyes. We see his parents' marriage, his birth, and the development of his evil powers as he grows up. In college, he meets his friend Weegee and his future wife Ophelia. They join the Magically Gifted Club, but this results with an argument with the chairman, culminating in a big fight. The chairman, Writewell, disfigures the younger and more handsome Meen into his familiar appearance, and Meen kills him in retaliation and saves Ophelia. Later, Meen marries Ophelia and begins construction of his labyrinth. The original I. M. Meen intro sequence starts playing, only for Gnorris to suddenly punch Meen repeatedly to try to help him breathe again. The scene transitions back to the present, where Brolly violently saves Meen from drowning.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Downplayed for the "hero" part, but Weegee's destruction of a jar of dirt Meen was geeking over in 6th episode resulted in the release of the Sinistar, who immediately proceeds to attack Meen and his friends, and later burns down Ophelia Chill's manor.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: In the 43rd episode, Neem M. I. showing up and accidentally catching the blast from the evil TV intended for Broly (which would result in the creation of the Emperor seen in the Bad Future) resulted in the TV turning into a copy of I. M. Meen. Realizing what he turned himself into, evil TV/Meen's clone gets disgusted by his physical form and jumps off the cliff, consequently permanently averting his rise to power in the Bad Future.
  • Oh, Crap!: The ice cream bunny's firetruck siren. This thing cows a Nuckelavee, and that's justified in episode 54.
  • Origins Episode: Episodes 45-47 are parts 1-3 of "The Magic Origin of I. M. Meen".
  • Poke the Poodle: An annoyed I. M. Meen does this in the 42nd episode. Some examples include him feeding the animals at a zoo, parking in handicapped spots, taking multiple samples from a bowl at the mall, and bouncing on a bed.
  • Pushed in Front of the Audience: In one episode, I. M. Meen's life is made into a Reality TV show. Naturally, a lot of changes are made, including his friends being taken away. Eventually, though, I. M. Meen kicks the crew out and gets his friends back.
  • Rage Quit: After trying to wipe a stain with a Sham-Wow, it fails and just spreads the stain. He quits his job in advertising as a result. Later, when he tries to work as a janitor, King Harkinian gives him tons of demands after scrubbing all the floors in Hyrule, which prompts him to quit janitor job as well.
    "I. M. Meen quits!"
  • Running Gag: Trunks running in to snatch something away from Meen with his trademark "NOOOOOOOO!" Justified by the future arc; he was trying to make sure Meen was there to stop the Emperor AKA the evil TV from rising.
  • Scooby-Dooby Doors: In Episode 21, accompanied with unusual music that wouldn't normally fit this trope. Of course, it goes totally crazy, as two bakers appear, I. M. Weegee appears, and Link appears. There's even a parody of the unmasking after it.
  • The Scream: Happens a lot with the titular character, especially in the 6th installment. Lampshaded in one episode where rossw75 rhetorically asks the viewer in an in-video comment if they can guess what his favorite I. M. Meen sound effect is.
  • Sdrawkcab Name: Neem M. I., Meen's even eviler twin. It even extends to pronunciation, as his name is pronounced "neem-meh-yah", not "neem-em-eye".
  • Show, Don't Tell: What really makes this Poop series stand out from others is its willingness to go for extended stretches of time where the main characters don't speak at all, instead communicating through facial expressions, gestures, and displays of images.
  • Stable Time Loop: In Episode 6, I. M. Meen gets sent into the past via Aperture Science's time machine, in the time period back when he had the labyrinth. Meeting Gnorris and remembering his future role in betraying him, he accuses him of ruining his labyrinth and beats him up, leading to Gnorris' eventual betrayal.
  • Trappedin TV Land: Happens in the 41st episode. It turns out that the TV is evil, and trapped him there in the first place.
