Space Funeral: Earth Birth is a Fan Sequel to Space Funeral by Duck Stapler. In it, Phillip and Leg Horse are called upon to defeat Science, a snake who leads a cabal of Mad Scientists out to conquer the world.
Fan Sequel Earth Birth contains examples of the following:
- Affably Evil: Lord Vegetables. In spite of being the leader of a grisly cult that has killed enough non-believers to create a lake with their blood, he is quite cordial in his dealings with Phillip.
- Anthropomorphic Personification: Science is shown as an evil, Mad Scientist who is also a snake.
- Big Bad: Science is the leader of a cabal of Mad Scientists that want to Take Over the World of Earth Birth.
- Burn the Witch!: Practiced in Vegetables’ cult, and can be seen at one point.
- Down the Drain: The town of Liver Failure is located in a rather large sewer.
- Fan Sequel
- For Science!: The motivation of the scientists in the service of Science.
- Erudite Stoner: Dracula, as well as the other NPC's residing at the "Tomato Farm."
- Evil vs. Evil: Science and his Mad Scientists against Lord Vegetables and his Religion of Evil. Note you only fight the former.
- No Indoor Voice: Seemingly important things in dialogue are typed in all capital letters. The things in caps are frequently not as critical as the game would have you believe. A villager in Gangrene lampshades this:Don't you think that it's kind of weird that everyone YELLS IMPORTANT THINGS?
- Obliviously Evil: Some of the scientists seem to be this.Scientist: Learning is FUN! KNOWLEDGE is POWER! But POWER corrupts... does this make me evil?
- Oculothorax: The controller of the arcane and consumerism, Cindy.
- Press X to Die: Much like in the first game, there are numerous intervals wherein choosing "Yes" over "No" in dialogue will kill Phillip."Trustworthy" Scientist: I will sell you a SERUM that TOTALLY WON'T KILL YOU! But instead, it will make you RIPPED!
- Science Is Bad: Parodied: Science is the Big Bad, manifested as a physical force (a snake to be exact) that threatens to overtake Earth Birth, and has Mad Scientist minions helping.
- Surreal Horror: It gets ramped up quite a bit this time around. A lot of the time spent in Gangrene in particular lapses into this.
- Instrument of Murder: Dubstereos. You could turn it against them by using Phillip's Mystery skill for the chance to make them play country music instead.
- I Don't Like the Sound of That Place: Most of the names of the towns tend to come off as this. For instance, one of them is called Liver Failure.
- Religion of Evil: Vegetable's cult. They don't actually oppose Phillip on his journey, but they qualify nonetheless.
- Tom the Dark Lord: Lord Vegetables and Cindy, a cult leader and the controller of the arcane and consumerism, respectively.
