Sofia? is an RPG Maker Explorer Horror game by Hatoge, the creator of Ouija Sleepover and Misfiction.

The date is April 2, 2010. Crow is headed to meet his boyfriend, Fio Jenkins, at his house for their one-month anniversary. Fio's parents are away, and he spends his days cared for by Sophia Jenkins instead. Crow and Fio spend the night together and have a sleepover.

Then Fio vanishes and Crow finds a strange masked woman has broken into the house. Now Crow has to ensure the safety of his beloved while fighting the intruder — but what seems to be a simple home invasion turns out to be something far bigger.

This game contains examples of:

  • Big Bad: Icarus is the masked stranger who broke into the Jenkins house and is out to kill Crow and Fio.
  • Calling Parents by Their Name: Claire Carter is shown in one video demanding that Fio Jenkins call her “Doctor Carter” instead of “mom”, to emphasize how she views him as a guinea pig rather than a son.
  • Disguised Horror Story: Lampshaded by the creator in the Developer's Room, who admits that the game was made on the concept of "cute exterior hiding dark horror interior". It starts out innocently enough, with Crow going to meet his cute boyfriend and them having a fun day together. Then a masked intruder breaks into the house at night and it turns into a horror game. Later on, the seemingly happy Jenkins household is revealed to have been one giant, horrific experiment in immortality through cloning.
  • First-Episode Twist: In about the first 30 minutes, Crow and Fio are unavoidably killed by Icarus... only for Crow to wake up the next day, perfectly fine, and head back to his date with Fio. This sets up a sort of "Groundhog Day" Loop that becomes the center of the plot, but the game's description makes no mention of it.
  • "Groundhog Day" Loop: Subverted. Initially, when Crow and Fio are murdered by the masked intruder, only for Crow to wake up on the train he was on at the beginning of the game and play out the date he did before with much of the same dialogue, it seems to be a time loop. However, what is actually happening is that the Crow and Fio seen are clones of the originals, and every time they are killed, two more clones are made to replace them.
  • Government Conspiracy: It turns out that Project Gen, the creation of clones to achieve immortality, was funded by the government. In two of the good endings, the surviving iterations of Crow and Fio are forced to go on the run from the government, who presumably want to cover up any loose ends tying them to the experiment.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The government is revealed to have funded Project Gen, the experiment that created Icarus and turned them into the Big Bad.
  • Lethal Eatery: McDees from one of the bonus endings- their burgers make Fio feel sick in his stomach.
  • Minor Crime Reveals Major Plot: A home invasion by a masked intruder → a secret government project to achieve immortality through cloning, with the intruder and the two main characters actually being clones made from the project.
  • Multiple Endings:
    • Ending 1: Crow kills Icarus to protect Fio, but is shot in the process. Since they're iterations they are forced to go on the run from the government, who presumably want to cover up any loose ends tying them to the experiment.
    • Ending 2: Crow gives up on searching for Fio and goes back to sleep.
    • Ending 3: Crow agrees to work with Icarus. He becomes a Mad Scientist who experiments and tortures his fellow iterations.
    • Ending 4: Crow kills Icarus and destroys the clone machine. He then burns down the house with Fio inside.
    • Ending 5: Crow agrees to work with Icarus. Then a pandemic forces the world to be on lockdown, forcing Crow to live at Fio's house.
    • Ending 6: Crow agrees to work with Icarus, yet he releases the real Crow. It's revealed 10 years have passed since he was kidnapped and cloned and he has no memory of what happened.
    • Ending 7: Icarus kills Fio, forcing Crow to kill them. He buries Fio and burns down the house. The truth about Project Gen is never revealed, but over 500 corpses of iterations are found in the ruins of the house.
    • Ending 8: Icarus kills Fio, forcing Crow to kill them. He chooses to release the real Crow. It goes the same as Ending 6, with him having no memory of what happened since he was kidnapped and cloned. Years later, the real Crow has become a musician and encounters the real Fio, now a barista.
