Trivia / The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Go To

  • B-Team Sequel: Much like the Oracle duology, this title was developed by the Flagship studio of Capcom, with it being future 3D Zelda director Hidemaro Fujibayashi's last project before moving to Nintendo itself and directing the DS games.
  • Development Gag: You can find homes for two of the oracles, but not the third, a reference to a planned third Oracle game that never got made.
  • Dummied Out:
    • Some code for the Fire Rod is still in the game and can be hacked back in.
    • Another unused item is bottled butter made from Lon Lon Milk, but what it was meant for is anyone's guess.
    • The game contains unused graphics of the Goddess Pearls from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, stained glass of the Great Deku Tree, Valoo, and Jabun in Hyrule Castle's graphics, and what appears to be a horizontal entrance to the Temple of Droplets.
  • Orphaned Reference: Although the Fire Rod was scrapped and replaced with the Flame Lantern, the European version of the Ice Wizzrobe's figurine still advises you to "hit them with your Fire Rod!"
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The Fire Rod was planned to be in game at one point. It was presumably replaced with the Flame Lantern, as the two items share similar functions.
    • A string of text in the data shows that Lon Lon Milk could be turned into butter at one point. The butter's use and the method of churning it are both unknown.
