Trivia / Soaring Sky! PreCure

Go To

  • Author's Saving Throw: When Cure Wing made his in-show debut, many people noticed that he didn't have much in the way of merchandise outside of the Fluffy Cure Friends plush line despite being heavily marketed in pre-release and a part of the core team. After a particular disastrous incident where a young boy cried because he couldn't find a Cure Wing costume, Bandai announced that they will be selling authentic Cure Wing costumes starting in September.
  • Completely Different Title: In the Taiwanese Mandarin dub, the series is known as Opening Sky! Beautiful Girls of Light.
  • Content Leak:
    • In yearly tradition, the mid-season Cure's name was leaked via the Sky Mirage toy and revealed to be Cure Majesty before episode 1 even aired.
    • While this season managed to do far better than previous ones in terms of keeping the mid-season Cure's identity and appearance a secret, merchandise featuring Cure Majesty as the additional member was released for pre-order without using a placeholder image, making it all but clear that Ellee is the Sixth Ranger.
  • Cross-Dressing Voice: Cure Wing is voiced by a female in the Taiwanese Mandarin dub. Interestingly, she is also the voice actress of Cure Black in the original series.
  • Defictionalization: The undeployed henshin wand is in the form of a working stylized quill pen... that is, even in real life, a fully working pen.note
  • Foiler Footage:
    • The second ending sequence has several spots where the pose of the Cures is lop-sided or there's clearly a space missing, to hide that Cure Majesty hadn't been introduced yet, similar to Hummy doing her dances in a particular spot with Suite Pretty Cure ♪ to hide Cure Muse's addition. In Episode 32, the second ending is indeed reanimated to 'fix' those spots.
    • The advertising for the Pretty Cure All Stars movie manages some as well, in that both the posters and trailers up until days before release omitted Cure Majesty. This was especially noticeable, since every previous All Stars movie tended to leave out the newest Sixth Ranger Cure.
    • The 44th episode preview had the title "A Grown-Up Princess and the Legendary Precure!", with the teaser implying that the episode would be when Elle grew up and a unknown character was the Legendary Pretty Cure for the season, completely obscuring that the episode was the debut episode of the Undergu Empress, and a major part of the series Myth Arc, with both characters in the title referring to the same character, and it wouldn't be for several more episodes before Elle reached adulthood.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The ending credits messages are the first official apprances of Cure Lovley, Cure Flora, and Cure Miracle in Taiwan, as their seasons are skipped there.
  • Milestone Celebration:
    • Early marketing hypes up that this is the 20th installment of Pretty Cure, and the 20 year anniversary of the franchise. This includes that the series' electronic tablet toy is tied into the All Stars line, instead of related to the series itself, adverts for it including every single leader Cure for the previous 19 seasons, along with several prominent duos, and it has a database with information on all 77 current mainline Cures.note
    • In addition, the closing credits have a dancing stage with the symbols of all 20 seasons of Pretty Cure, and some early episodes featured fan-selected Precure cameos in Yoyo's mirror and introducing themselves before the closing credits begin, with the cameos eventually purely being each of the lead Cures for the seasons in reverse chronological order, before genuinely being randomly picked, the only other variance being special focus episodes.
  • Only Barely Renewed: Similar to Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure being announced to be simulcast at the last minute, Crunchyroll announced it was streaming Hirogaru Sky just two days before the Japanese premiere. However this last-minute acquisition seems to be the norm for Crunchyroll, as it also occurred with previous seasons: Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure was announced to be simulcast months after its Japanese premiere, and Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure was announced only hours before its premiere.
  • The Other Darrin: Originally, Sora's father Shido was voiced by Yasumichi Kushida, but he died before episode 15 aired, so Takanori Hoshino took on the role from episode 23 onwards.
  • Posthumous Credit: The first voice actor for Sora's father Shido Harewataru, Yasumichi Kushida, died on April 1, 2023, a month before the character first appeared in episode 15.
  • Promoted Fanboy: According to Tsubasa’s voice actor Ayumu Murase, Go! Princess Pretty Cure was his first Pretty Cure season and Cure Flora in particular is a major inspiration to him. Not only does he get to play a Cure himself, his character gets to team up with Flora directly in All Stars F.
  • Refitted for Sequel: The concept for a lead Cure being descended from the parallel world was originally going to be used in Maho Girls Pretty Cure! for Mirai. It took several years, but an idea of a similar nature finally appeared in this season, being used for Mashiro.
  • Reality Subtext: Cure Flora joining Team Wing in All Stars F and Cure Wing fanboying over her because she’s a princess takes on a whole new context after Wing’s voice actor mentioned in the Kanshasai event that Cure Flora is his inspiration and he got hope from her after testing positive for COVID prior to his audition.
  • You Sound Familiar: Ai Kakuma was previously the voice of the mascot Rabirin in Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure before voicing an actual Cure in this series, Mashiro Nijigaoka aka Cure Prism. Hilariously, in Pretty Cure All Stars F, Rabirin and Mashiro are shown in a trailer effectively travelling together when the Cures are broken into groups of four.
