Trivia / Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure

  • Content Leak:
    • Toei and Bandai did a really good job at keeping this series under wraps, but a leak of two thrown away coloring book pages did reveal some of the characters ahead of time (albeit uncolored), specifically Cure Precious, Cure Yum-Yum, Rosemary, and the three fairies.
    • On the week after episode 1's airing, after the Heart Cure Watch already showed a lot of images it wasn't supposed to, the rest of the fourth Cure's animation assets were leaked online, including her full henshin in stills form. The latter practically confirming Ai Kayano voices Amane Kasai, who, from the sixth episode onwards, steadily is revealed to also be Gentlu. A final leak from the same source then released images of a sweet shop, called Fruit Parlor KASAI, as a tie-in to the new Pretty Holic Sweets line, with both morning and evening images, implying that someone lives there, with Amane's last name making it obvious who, with the series explicitly bringing the connection up in Episode 10, with the place itself appearing prominently from Episode 12 onwards, and it's explicit link to the new line appearing in Episode 17.
    • Due in part to the production issues below, the Heart Juicy Mixer and its attacks were announced before it appeared in the show.note
    • A magazine scan summarized what turned out to be Episodes 10-13, leaving out several parts while spoiling that Gentlu will suffer Power Incontinence during the Mid-Season Upgrade storyline, along with the debut of Narcistoru and Black Pepper.
  • Creator's Apathy: Despite being the main theme of the show itself, lead writer Sawako Hirabayashi confirmed in Animage January 2023 that she herself doesn't like cooking and thus, didn't put a whole lot of effort into that aspect and instead decided to focus on Rosemary more so than the Cures themselves.
Sawako Hirabayashi: No, I can't and I don't really like to cook at all though I love eating and I'm sure there are people out there like me, right? Maybe, that'll change as we progress though this story, but I see no reason to put in such silly efforts in like that.
  • Darkhorse Casting: Yui's voice actor has only done bit parts, and this is her first big role in anime.
  • Delayed Release Tie-In: When a hack at Toei Animation delayed the premiere of new episodes, the merchandise that was meant to tie-in with Cure Yum Yum's debut and the season's power-up were still released on schedule. Also, several items and advertising tie-ins for Cure Finale were announced in the month leading up to her debut. Despite the aformentioned delays, this was averted for the Cure Finale merchandise, which came out the day before her debut episode aired.
  • Dueling Shows: With Tokyo Mew Mew New, another magical girl anime themed around food.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The brief cameo of the Star★Twinkle Pretty Cure team at the end of episode 29 marks the first official Western appearance of the team as the franchise was picked up the following year with Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure. This is also their first official appearance in Taiwan, as the team's season didn't aired there.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: The final episode features several previously unseen Recipippis which came about as a result of a contest held by Toei for viewers to design and submit their own Recipippi designs to be featured in it.
  • Only Barely Renewed: Up until literally minutes before the first episode, it was thought Crunchyroll's rights to Precure had expired, until a last minute announcement confirmed it had been renewed.
  • Out of Holiday Episode: Episode 24 dealt with the girls completing summer homework. It aired on August 21, 2022, when summer was almost over. It's likely that this was caused by the delays mentioned under Troubled Production.
  • Portmanteau Series Nickname: The official version of this is "DePaPre"; some fans tend to go with "DeliPre", but this seems to be a berserk button for Japanese Pretty Cure fans as "DeliPre" seems to refer to a hentai series, with "DeliPa" considered as an alternative.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Much like with the main cast of Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure, pre-series interviews show that the main three Cures’ voice actresses are fans of the franchise and have wanted to voice a Pretty Cure since the start of their careers. Of note is that Yui’s voice actress has reportedly been a fan of Fresh Pretty Cure! since she was in nursery school.
  • Recycled Set: Oddly enough for an animated work, the Delicious Fields (which the Cures do battle in for a huge majority of the season) are identical in appearance.
  • Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy: With the henshin of Cure Finale, the Heart Cure Pendant looks almost identical to the version made from the Heart Cure Watch, including, for a brief few seconds, the camera lens of the Heart Cure Watch being clearly visible.note
  • Spoiled by the Merchandise: See this page.
  • Troubled Production:
    • On March 7, 2022, Toei Animation suffered a hack due to an employee accidentally downloading ransomware software that lead to several shows, including this one, having their production delayed. On March 12, 2022, it was then announced that due to the hack, Delicious Party would not air for the rest of that month, with All Star Memories airing in three parts in its place. Even after that, the official return episode was to air on April 17, as Toei rebroadcast Episode 5 on April 10. This led to the season to being shortened as well, which would make it the third season in a row to have less than 49 episodes.
    • As mentioned above, the merchandise is consistently being revealed and/or released a month in advance of when various characters appear in the series, since the hack happened so early, practically none of it had been released already, meaning there will always be a minor leak of upcoming content for its entire run.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Cure Yum-Yum and Cure Finale were initially planned on being called Cure Yummy and Cure Gorgeous respectively.
    • Originally, Godatz was not planned to be Fennel, but the hack forced Toei to rewrite it so he was. Whatever plans they had will not be known.
  • Word of God:
    • According to head writer Sawako Hirabayashi, the original Connectal Mochimochitto Fukkurara Glycogen Komex Ⅰ that preceded Kome-Kome Ⅱ is male. She also mentioned wanting to write him as a potential rival to Takumi for Yui in a love triangle had he been prominent in the present day and not died as episode 38 reveals.
    • Series director Toshinori Fukasawa confirmed in the Animage March 2023 interview that Takumi and Yui Hooked Up Afterwards following the series, going out after he eventually works up the determination to confess his feelings, getting married as adults, having Babies Ever After, and inheriting their respective families’ businesses. He also expressed that the show kept Yui Oblivious to Love throughout the season because they felt that her personality is the sort that if she did find out about Takumi’s crush on her, it would consume her thoughts to the point of becoming a Romantic Plot Tumour that would distract from the focus of the story.
  • Word of Saint Paul: During the Thanksgiving Festival event, the voice actresses for the Cures described what their character’s ideal romantic partner would be like.
    • Yui’s ideal match is someone who loves cooking and making food with her. Kome-Kome would also want to date Yui in a Father, I Want to Marry My Brother sense due to not understanding the romantic connotations of a date, and her own voice actress acted out a date with the Parfait Recipippi.
    • Kokone’s ideal match is someone she can exchange books and have a calm conversation with. Pam-Pam’s voice actress played her in-character as Kokone’s date for this.
    • Ran’s ideal match is someone she can go on adventures with.
    • Amane’s ideal match is someone she can train in martial arts with and watch sunsets with her afterwards.
