- Acclaimed Flop: Barely averted. With no news of Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure being picked up for simulcast on Crunchyroll and the post-credits cameo and baton-pass missing, many western fans felt that this series became this as many fans absolutely loved the series but it seemed not to be that good elsewhere. However Crunchyroll’s last minute pick up (like, literally last minute) of the series seemed to prove otherwise.
- Breaking News Interruption:
- On the original broadcast of episode 3, an earthquake telop appeared during the ending theme.
- During the original airing of episode 23, an earthquake telop about a minor earthquake in Ibusuki, Kagoshima appeared during the last 5 minutes of the episode. Fans were not happy about this, as it occurred during a scene considered crucial to the episode's plot (the scene where the girls make wishes on stones).
- During the broadcast of Episode 43, Japan's Pacific coast was hit by a tsunami after an underwater volcano eruption, showing this map throughout the episode◊ alongside others. Incidentally enough, an apocalypse was involved, which in the following episode, featured heavy rain and hurricanes throughout the planet.
- Colbert Bump: As the first series to be streamed on Crunchyroll from the very start, the series as a whole has given one to the overall franchise outside of Japan, particularly in the West.
- Delayed Release Tie-In: Due to the circumstances listed under Schedule Slip, some merchandise for this show came out the day before the original February 7th, 2021 slot for this series came around.
- Edited for Syndication: The version of the final episode released on Crunchyroll completely cuts out Yui Nagomi/Cure Precious' cameo scene as well as the baton pass from the final episode. With Crunchyroll announcing their simulcast of Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure at the last minute, it's likely this was an intentional move to avoid a Content Leak.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": This series will be the official North American debut of HeartCatch Pretty Cure! as the series had not appeared in any streaming services prior to the airing of Episode 33.
- No Export for You:
- Averted, as Crunchyroll confirmed that Tropical Rouge is going to be part of their Winter 2021 streaming lineup, being made available in North America, Latin America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and others.
- Oddly enough played straight with Cure Precious's Early-Bird Cameo in the Post-Credits Scene of episode 46 being completely absent from the Crunchyroll version of that episode. Considering that Crunchyroll waited until the last minute to announce they were streaming Delicious Party, this may have been intentional (compare to Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure, where the baton pass scene was in there).
- That said, Toei Animation's US division DID post the baton pass on their official Twitter and Instagram accounts, which makes this even more puzzling.
- Once again, the Non-Serial Movie has yet to see an official release outside of Japan.
- Playing Against Type: Being The Stoic is par the course of a Yui Ishikawa-voiced character but fortunately for Minori/Cure Papaya, by virtue of this season being Denser and Wackier than a number of other entries, doesn't have to deal with the same level of angst as Morgan, 2B, Violet and especially Mikasa.
- Portmanteau Series Nickname: "Toropuri"/トロプリ.
- Promoted Fanboy: Rina Hidaka has been a fan of Pretty Cure for a long time, but wasn’t able to fit auditions for previous seasons into her schedule. When she got cast as Laura, one of the people she told before it was publicly revealed was Ai Kakuma, who was voicing Rabirin in the preceding season at the time and would recount this with her during their Hidakakuma program.
- Schedule Slip: The show's release is later than other installments in the franchise as a result of production delays that plagued the previous series.
- Spoiled by the Merchandise: See this page.
- What Could Have Been:
- Aimi Tanaka originally auditioned for the role of Manatsu but decided to voice Kururun instead upon seeing their design due to her love for sea animals.
- The notoriously useless Kururun was almost cut from the show entirely because all the usual fairy mascot functions were already performed by Laura, but the director kept them in anyways because a seal plush that someone brought to a staff meeting convinced them that Kururun’s cuteness was justification enough to have them around. Fan reception to the character proved that this was ultimately a good thing.
- Laura was originally going to be a more gentle girl to tone down Manatsu's outlandishness. However Tsuchida Yutaka was concerned that she was going to be overshadowed by the other girls, therefore giving her a strong personality and a bigger presence in the story.
- The Tropical Pact contains an unused sound that has Manatsu saying "Together, we'll smile, smile!", followed by Asuka saying "Everyone is going to the movies!". This likely means that before HeartCatch Pretty Cure was chosen for the fall movie, a crossover with Smile Pretty Cure! was being considered.
- Laura's surname was going to be Hyginus, with "La Mer" just her Cure name. This was changed however due to "Laura Hyginus" proving difficult for the actors to say, hence it being demoted to part of her Overly Long Name, and La Mer becoming her surname instead.
- For the Excellen-Tropical Style finisher, Nakatini Yukiko was asked to make them resemble a royal family. However, she struggled making matching shoes, so instead, she Took a Third Option and just made them barefoot for the attack sequence instead.
- On Twitter / X, Masahiro Yokotani revealed that his colleagues always stopped him from adding more Toilet Humour into the show, and the director Tsuchida Yutaka only relented for the scene in the finale when Manatsu steps in some Road Apples.
- Write Who You Know: According to an Animage article, Wataru from episode 14 is based on head writer Masahiro Yokotani in how he preferred reading indoors and had to be encouraged to play outside and make friends.
- You Sound Familiar:
- Yumiri Hanamori voiced several minor characters and Elements in Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure before voicing Sango/Cure Coral.
- Yui Ishikawa voiced Hydro in the Star★Twinkle Pretty Cure movie before voicing Minori/Cure Papaya.
- Akeno Watanabe voiced Kedary in Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure before voicing Numeri.
