Trivia / My Little Pony: Pony Life

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
  • The Danza: Sort of. In the show, the online advice column "Dear Tabby" is revealed to be run by Rarity, who is voiced by Tabitha St. Germain.
  • International Coproduction: The series is produced by Allspark Animation (which is credited as Entertainment One) in the US and Boulder Media in Ireland, with The Ocean Group in Canada providing the voice work.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: My Little Pony: Pony Life was removed from Hulu in April 2023, and Discovery Family stopped airing reruns in September 2023. While the series has never been released on DVD, the entire series is still on iTunes for the time being.
  • Non-Singing Voice: Averted with regards to Pinkie Pie and Rarity, who, unlike in FIM, have Andrea Libman and Tabitha St. Germain do both their speaking and singing voices (Andrea sometimes sang for Pinkie in FIM, but most of the time, it was Shannon Chan-Kent, and Rarity always had Kazumi Evans as her singing voice in FIM). Twilight, however, still has Tara Strong as her speaking voice and Rebecca Shoichet as her singing voice, once again due to Tara being based in LA and Rebecca being based in Vancouver with the rest of the cast.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Spike is now voiced by Tabitha St. Germain; he was voiced by Cathy Weseluck in Friendship is Magic.
    • Discord, who was originally voiced by John de Lancie in FIM, was recast with Peter New.
    • Snips is voiced by Ian Hanlin as opposed to Lee Tockar from Friendship is Magic.
    • In the French dub, Fanny Dreiss replaces Mélanie Dermont as Rainbow Dash.
    • The Latin American Spanish dub is a more noticeable example, as the entire Mexican-based cast from Friendship Is Magic was replaced, and the series was dubbed in Venezuela instead.
    • In the Italian dub, Chiara Francese replaces Donatella Fanfani and Tiziana Martello as Pinkie Pie.
  • Release Date Change: The series was initially scheduled to premiere on June 13, 2020 on Discovery Family, but it was pushed to a later date. That didn't stop the show from premiering elsewhere, though...
  • Screwed by the Network: The show's American release date was postponed until five months later.
  • Short Run in Peru: Treehouse TV in Canada premiered the show on June 21, 2020 before the US release, due to the latter being postponed. Boomerang in Australia then premiered the show on August 1, 2020, and Tiny Pop in the UK would premiere the show later that same month. The 2nd season aired on April 2, 2021 in the UK, April 4 in Canada and on April 10 in the US.
  • Similarly Named Works: Avatar: The Last Airbender and Inspector Gadget also have an episode titled "The Great Divide".
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Dishwater Slog was originally a unicorn. They accidentally kept his original name, Mysterious Unicorn, in the credits for part 1 of "The Best of the Worst".
    • Smallfry might've originally been named Lil' Colt if this response by Alex Vetter was accurate.
  • Working Title:
    • "The Fluttershy Effect" was originally titled "A Dash of Time", according to Taneka Stotts.
    • "Badge of Shame" and "Discord's Peak" were originally titled "Master of Instructions" and "Mt. Volcanope" according to TV guides.
