• Acting for Two: In the Latin American Spanish dub, Irwin Daayán voices both Rohan and Jotaro.
• Approval of God:
  • Darren Hayes of Savage Garden thanked David Production for including the song "I Want You" as the ending theme for the anime.
  • Wataru Hatano gave congratulations to Yuki Ono for taking over his role as Josuke for the anime.
• Creator's Favorite:
  • Diamond is Unbreakable is Hirohiko Araki's favorite Part, with Josuke being his favorite protagonist and Kira as his favorite antagonist. Both characters ranked #1 and #2 respectively in his Top 10 Favorite Characters list in JOJO A-GO!GO!.
  • Wataru Hatano, who voiced Josuke in All-Star Battle, admits that Josuke is his favorite character.
• Creator's Favorite Episode: Billy Kametz, the voice of Josuke in the dub, said that his favorite episode was "Let's Go Eat Some Italian Food".
• Defictionalization:
  • Yoshikage Kira's necktie with the Sheer Heart Attack prints on them are available from the Bandai Premium store.
  • The real-world Japanese convenience store chain, Lawson, temporarily changed one of their locations' name to Owson and sold JoJo merchandise in late 2018 to promote the Part 4 anime. It's worth noting that Lawson is the visual inspiration for the in-universe Owson brand.
• Dueling Works:
  • With YuYu Hakusho which ran in Shonen Jump around the same time and featured a similar location, themes, and characters.
  • When the anime aired, it was one with Re:Zero, not because the two works are similar in any way but rather both were among the most popular anime airing in Japan at the time, and in the United States the two most talked about anime of the Spring and Summer seasons.
• Dyeing for Your Art: While playing the role of Jotaro in the live-action movie, actor Yusuke Iseya had to get a bizarre haircut that shaved everything but the sides of his head so that his hair could appear to blend into Jotaro's cap like it did in the original manga.
• Fan Translation:
  • The manga has a rather infamous one in the form of the Duwang Scans which were the result of an attempt at an English project. Thankfully several new fan translations have been made available which helps since some territories have not seen a localized release yet. Though Viz Media has announced that they have picked up the license for this part but do not know when they will release it at the moment.
  • Now that the anime is out, there is a fansub group who have created a subtitle track based on the Duwang Scans.
• Fake Mixed Race: In the film, full-blooded Japanese Kento Yamazaki as the half-white and half-Japanese Josuke.
• Fountain of Expies: Although the yandere trope is much older than Yukako Yamagishi as a character^note in fact, it is Older Than Dirt, with the goddess Ishtar being a yandere for Gilgamesh in The Epic of Gilgamesh, she is considered to be the originator of the iconic yandere archetype in modern anime and manga (1990s and later) — a sweet, beautiful girl of high school age who is obsessed with one boy and will go to absolutely any length to be in a relationship with him.
• God Never Said That: Due to the following part introducing Requiem Stands, many people have stated that Yoshikage's Bites The Dust was a Requiem Stand. Word of God has never stated anything of that sort and instead explains it as a new power he was given by the Stand Arrow that matched what he needed. The ability may have formed the idea for Requiem Stands since Araki was starting to toy with the idea of Stand's evolving during this part, but within Part 4, it is explicitly stated to be a new ability.
• The Other Darrin:
  • According to Daisuke Ono, despite being cast in All-Star Battle and Eyes of Heaven, the actors have to re-audition for the roles in the anime. As such, many characters in the Part 4 anime had different voices from the games.
    • Josuke Higashikata is voiced by Wataru Hatano in the Cyberconnect games, and Yuki Ono in the anime.
    • Koichi Hirose is voiced by Rio Natsuki in the Golden Wind game, Romi Park in the Cyberconnect games, and Yūki Kaji in the anime.
    • Rohan Kishibe is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya in the Cyberconnect games and Takahiro Sakurai in the anime.
    • Yukako Yamagishi is voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki in Eyes of Heaven and Mamiko Noto in the anime.
    • Yoshikage Kira is voiced by Rikiya Koyama in the Cyberconnect games and Toshiyuki Morikawa in the anime.
    • Hayato Kawajiri in the Cyberconnect games had his screaming provided by Yuko Sato, while Rina Sato voices him in the anime.
  • In the last third of the anime, Tomoko Higashikata is voiced by Shizuka Itō but was initially voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi. This is because, Toyoguchi left for maternity leave a few months before the last third of the anime.
  • In the Latin American Spanish dub, Koichi is voiced by Diego Becerril instead of Emilio Treviño, who voiced him in the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVAs.
• Post-Script Season: Araki had initially intended the franchise to be a trilogy ending with Stardust Crusaders since the ending tied up the loose ends from the first two parts. As such Diamond is Unbreakable feels more like a standalone story that expands on some of the elements introduced in Stardust Crusaders but isn't necessarily a direct sequel. Golden Wind would follow suit on this but not Stone Ocean.
• Promoted Fanboy:
  • Similar to Daisuke Ono, Josuke's voice actor in All-Star Battle, Wataru Hatano, was a fan of the series before voicing his character. In fact Josuke is his favorite character in the series.
  • Kira Buckland has been vocal of her love of the JoJo series, and has even campaigned to be the voice of Jolyne Cujoh when Stone Ocean is animated, which she did once it aired. But before that, she's cast here as Reimi Sugimoto.
• Real Song Theme Tune: "I Want You" by Savage Garden is used as the ending theme for the entire season of the anime adaptation.
• Recast as a Regular: Jalen K. Cassell, the English voice of Vanilla Ice for a few episodes in Stardust Crusaders, now voices Okuyasu.
• Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Mildly While Vic Mignogna was fired and blacklisted by Funimation and Rooster Teeth, Viz Media at least let Vic finish his role as Rohan Kashibe and it would be his final role with Viz Media.
• Role Reprise: Among the characters returning from the Cyberconnect games, Okuyasu, Akira, and Shigechi were the only characters to have their voice actors return for the anime. Likewise Daisuke Ono and Unshō Ishizuka reprise their roles as Jotaro and Joseph for the anime.
• Shrug of God:
  • Araki has refused to explain anything about Josuke's flashback where a young Josuke is saved by an unknown delinquent that resembles him. Any question about possible implications (from a possible time travel plotline to a simple coincidence) has always been met with a flat refusal to talk about the incident from Araki's part.
  • The alien/human nature of Mikitaka Hazekura/Nu Mikitakazo Nshi is purposefully left ambiguous by Araki. The closest he has come to answering is to state in an artbook that Aliens are "just barely acceptable" within the JoJo fiction, without directly referring to Mikitaka himself.
• Star-Making Role:
  • Billy Kametz as Josuke. Prior to the series, he had mostly played secondary or minor characters in mobile game adaptations of various properties (such as Avengers Academy and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff), but found himself a variety of more roles after playing Josuke.
  • While Luka Couffaine in Miraculous Ladybug made Andrew Russel famous, his role as Akira Otoshi was his first debut as an anime voice actor.
• Technology Marches On: In the manga, Josuke is seen playing a Super Famicom, which was the biggest gaming console at the time of Diamond is Unbreakable's publication. However, by 1999, which is when Part 4 takes place, the Super Famicom had been overshadowed by the Nintendo 64, which had released 4 years prior. The anime addresses this by changing Josuke's game console to instead be a copyright-friendly N64.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Seeing as how Morioh is based on Araki's hometown Sendai, he had initially wanted to name it as such but felt it would anger people.
  • Araki also wanted to explore Kira's childhood in-depth, but eventually decided against it as he felt that it would be in bad taste to make a Serial Killer too sympathetic. His idea was to show more of Kira's parents and the role they played in causing his behavior (his mother being abusive while his father did nothing to stop it), hence why Yoshihiro is so dedicated to helping protect his son even to the present. The only real trace of this is the photo in Kira's house, where Kira as a child is shown looking uncomfortable.
• Write What You Know:
  • Araki based Morioh on his hometown Sendai. Morioh is stated to be a town in S City within the M Prefecture referencing Sendai and its real life prefecture the Miyagi Prefecture.
  • The Stray Cat arc was based on an experience Araki had with his grandfather's cat Chako. One day Chako scratched Araki in the face with Araki becoming suspicious of him since then.
• Write Who You Know: Araki based Tama on his grandfather's cat Chako.
• Written By Castmember: Jalen K. Cassell writes the English ADR script and voices Okuyasu.
• Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Araki is known for this, but aside from Part 8, it's probably most apparent here. The first half of the series goes through implied Big Bads like there's a revolving door. Even Kira is utterly backed into a corner shortly after his introduction just like the others. As if Araki realized he should probably settle on a true Big Bad by that point, Kira gets bailed out at the last possible second, allowing him to secure his place as the Part's main villain. The anime adaptation helps offset this by adding scenes that tease Kira from the very beginning.
• You Sound Familiar: Okuyasu's English actor, Jalen K. Cassell, had previously voiced Vanilla Ice in the dub for Stardust Crusaders.
