Trivia / I=MGCM

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Both Omnises share the same voice actor, Manaka Sawa, and White Omnis talks almost exclusively to his "Prime" self.
    • In MGCM's most recent collaboration with Taimanin RPG, Musubi Aono reprises her role as Asagi in addition to her MGCM role as Invidia the Envy.
  • Bad Export for You: The English version is okay for the most part, but some lines haven't been perfectly translated and a few cases of narmy wording are snuck in. The worst offenders are mostly to be found out of the way, in dress episodes for certain limited-line dresses, where it's possible to encounter duplicated subtitles; a couple of those can be found in bond episodes as well, a much more noticable issue. However, overall, if you aren't a hardcore Japanese-version purist, the English translation still gets all the situations across and presents the same kind of experience across the board, regrettable derps notwithstanding.
  • Colbert Bump: In Japan, the game has gained a minor boost in popularity thanks to SKB Club from Nijisanji.
  • Content Leak: In the December 2020 livestream, the officials confirm that they will have a massive collaboration with another work. Then someone datamines the game, revealing that Studio MGCM will collaborate with Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. Indeed, the next livestream on 8th February 2021 confirms this to be true.
  • Defictionalization: Hanabi's "R"-rare Holiday Casual jacket (also known as "Fire and Forget" jacket, as that word is written on it) is given to winners during the giveaway.
  • #EngineeredHashtag: During the commercial commemoration campaign in October, some Magicami-related hashtags with Omnis' icon in those hashtags are created to earn some rewards from certain hashtag events and gain popularity in Twitter, such as:
    • For "#マジカミ": Tweet something with this hashtag as much as they can (on 1st November from 13:00 to 13:30). If they can reach the first place in national trending hashtag, they’ll give a large amount of in-game diamonds to everyone, releasing the second light novel adaptation and the latest original soundtrack.
    • For "#マジヤバいカミRPG": From 21st October to 1st November, tweet, like, and retweet tweets that have the aforementioned hashtag. There’s a special website that allows you to check the points from tweeting, liking, and retweeting tweets. When you get enough points, you can exchange in-game items such as a guaranteed UR gacha ticket, SR gacha tickets, Bell Coins, S Stamina Drinks, and Q Stamina Drinks.
    • For "#マジ民だのみ": From 5th November to 12th November 2020. Tweet your requests for the future updates and collaborations with the aforementioned hashtag.
  • He Also Did: The voice actress of Honey Abalone is veteran seiyuu Mika Kanai, better known for voicing characters like Melonpanna, Vanilla H note , Tiffa Adill, Satoko Hojo, Wapiko and Arche Klien in more mainstream SFW projects. That said, Mikapii has done plenty of 18+ roles in the past note .
  • Late Export for You: The English version was released on 1st September 2020, more than a year after the Japanese release on 26th June 2019. Notably, this includes content releases in-game — meaning that the international version players are effectively a year behind the Japanese ones in terms of which events are running, which dress series are being introduced, and even in the main storyline releases. It's unknown whether there will eventually be a catch-up point or whether things will proceed with a year-long delay as they do now.
  • Line to God:
    • GSK (the creative director for Studio MGCM) has a Twitter account. (Warning: May contain NSFW artwork.)
    • Akoto (the illustrator for MGCM light novels) has a Twitter account (Warning: May contain NSFW artwork.)
    • Yonezawa Mao, who is responsible for making artworks for MGCM DX a.k.a. the NSFW version, has a Twitter account.
    • MomoiroManji a.k.a. 桃色卍流, an artist who is responsible for drawing and animating H-scenes for the DX version, has a Twitter account.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content:
    • In April 2020, Studio MGCM announced the illustration contest for a cash grand prize and the honour of having the fan illustration in an official episode. The winners were announced here.
    • There’s another contest in the end of 2020. This time there are both fan illustrations and dress designs. The winners were announced here.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Iko was originally voiced by Cocoa Suzutou, but the role would later be given to Kyoko Kitakaze for some reason.
    • Lilly's voice actress, Hitomi Yanagi, was replaced by Kazuka Murasaki, according to Hitomi's agency. As with Iko, the reason is unknown, but many fans assume that it's probably because although Hitomi has experiences in H-Game, several unpleasant NSFW scenes of Lilly like rape and corruption, and any kind of Fate Worse than Death are given to her.
  • Release Date Change: The English version's release got delayed from 18 August until 1 September.
  • Shoot the Money: It cost 1.2 billion Yen to make this game for PC and port it to smartphones, license songs from the Japanese music group GANG PARADE (Now disbanded into GO TO THE BEDS and PARADISES) and produce the animated opening. The game makes sure to make every bit of this count as much as possible, particularly with the music.
  • Shrug of God: A minor example. Someone in Twitter asks the officials about Eliza's bust size in the official website is different from her bust size described in-game. Here’s the response from the officials:
"Thank you for playing Magicami. It's Magicami support speaking! We will reply to you with this message about "Eliza's bust size" that you inquired about. When (censored user's name) asked about the bust size of Eliza, it was 85 in the character introduction on the official website and 83 in the in-game character introduction. As (censored user's name) said, the size has changed ...! Did her mind grow and her body grow in the battle ... Or the thickness of the underwear she wore at the time of measurement? Is it in the shadow ... Maybe Eliza looks good and insists that she's bigger than before ...! I'd like to confirm with her, but it's a sensitive part, so that's it. Let's leave it as it is. We hope that you will continue to protect the growth of the magical girls' minds and bodies with warm eyes. If you have any other questions or requests, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your interest in "Magicami"!"
  • Trolling Creator: The creative director GSK's message regarding the first anniversary of MGCM. Pay attention to the strike through (or spoiler tagged ones at this page) ones at the second paragraph, as he makes fun of players about the surprisingly creepy and NSFW things that have happened (and some of them are censored in order to avoid some spoilers) in the game:
GSK: Let's make a game of "Saturday Morning Magical Girl's Style" for adults. It was only a few years ago that I started walking with JibuP (the shortened nickname for The Absolutely Perfect One) and Koho Ishihara. Speaking of the magical girl thing flower, it is about corruptions, heroine conflicts, touch (censored), defeat (censored) from (censored), right? (sideways smile) We will continue to keep up with the successes of these girls, who will continue to face any difficulties and continue to walk!
  • What Could Have Been: Studio MGCM once wanted to show the regular version of the MGCM game commercial in the cinemas when Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie — Mugen Train played in November 2020. Unfortunately, the commercial got canceled in all the movie theaters targeted by Studio MGCM. The reason is obvious: it's a commercial for a 17+ game in a showing of a Shōnen anime movie. Another reason is the fact that there's an official R-18/DX version of the game, and they were afraid that kids will search and be influenced by DX version players to play that version rather than the regular version, as discussed in this video. Instead, Studio MGCM implements the commercial when Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series is aired in Animax.
