Trivia / Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island

  • Bury Your Art: Warner Bros. Animation has tried their best to pretend this series never existed, hence why they didn't release it on home media, and refused to syndicate the show to other cable networks like Cartoon Network and Boomerang (at least in the United States).
  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: The Other Wiki lists the series as a Canadian-American production, and it's not uncommon to hear some say the show was originally made for Teletoon. While the show did air on Teletoon in Canada and featured several Canadian voice actors, it was an entirely American production from Warner Bros. Animation for Kids' WB!. It's likely this confusion arose due to the fact it debuted on the exact same day as Johnny Test, a series that Warner Bros. Animation did produce in association with Teletoon.
  • Creator Backlash: On his podcast, Rob Paulsen said that this was his absolute least favorite character to voice, mostly because of how obvious a knockoff of SpongeBob SquarePants it was. When asked about his feelings about it and the Bubsy pilot on Twitter, he said it was wonderful because he got paid for his part in them.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: This show features a mixture of both LA-based American voice actors and Vancouver-based Canadian voice actors.
  • Crossdressing Voices: Tracey Moore and Britt McKillip, both female, voiced the male Bingo Cherry.
  • Follow the Leader: It's SpongeBob SquarePants, plain and simple. It's got the tropical motif as well as the happy-go-lucky and unintentionally troublesome protagonist with a inanimate object paired with a common name. Even Rob Paulsen agrees with that sentiment.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Possibly the hardest to find cartoon Warner Bros. Animation has ever made. The show was never released on DVD or digital download, probably because of how many people detracted it for being a SpongeBob rip-off. Eight of the 13 episodes used to be on YouTube thanks to one of the series co-creators, but they've been removed. For everything beyond those episodes, however, there are only low-quality camrips. The widescreen prints of the show are even harder to come by, especially since Kids' WB! didn't broadcast their series in HD back then. With all this said, HBO Max once confirmed in a Twitter post that this show would be added to their service in the future, but with the service undergoing a massive purge of content in 2022 following the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc, this remains in doubt.
  • Missing Episode: The original pilot was never aired on television, though clips of it was used for advertising and in the sound studio attraction at the Kids' WB! Crash the Backlot tour. Currently, the only remaining footage that exists is a promo made out of footage from the pilot and a few screenshots. There has been no new information discovered since October 2022.
  • Money, Dear Boy: This is what prevents Rob Paulsen from completely regretting voicing the titular character in this series, though he still highly regrets it.
  • The Other Darrin: Bingo Cherry was voiced by Tracey Moore for the first two episodes, after which Britt McKillip voiced him.
  • What Could Have Been: The show was originally going to be pitched to Disney Television Animation.
