  • Acting for Two: In the English dub:
    • Besides being the respective voices of Keita Ibuki and Daichi Kuraki, Jason Griffith and Christopher Kromer voiced a few Tribal End members in episode 2.
    • Laura Bailey voices Kuro, as well as Mayu's mother.
    • Crispin Freeman voices Reishin in addition to several one-off characters in episode 8.
    • Julie Ann Taylor voices Akane Sano and several minor characters.
    • Mary Elizabeth McGlynn voices Mikami Hojo and Masagami in episode 21.
  • Celebrity Voice Actor: The English dub features singer and actor Matt Caplan (better known as Flash Thompson from Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and Keiichi Morisato from the TV adaptation of Ah! My Goddess) as Raiga and Wil Wheaton as Yakumo.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: The English dub was recorded in Los Angeles and New York City.
  • Directed by Cast Member: Michael Sinterniklaas, one of the English dub's ADR directors, was also the voice of Punipuni.
  • The Other Darrin: In the English dub, Taliesin Jaffe briefly replaced Wil Wheaton for Yakumo's appearance in episode 13.
  • Overtook the Manga: The anime loosely followed the manga's storyline at first but the 2nd half in particular has nothing to do with the source material. The doppeliner system is different. In the manga, the two die if they see each other, the remaining one becomes a root. In the anime, the root who has more luck then any other survives by default. This major difference actually caused incompatibility of the entire plots of both versions.
  • Recast as a Regular: Eiji Miyashita first appeared as a pupil in episode 1. Later, Miyashita voiced Raiga for seven episodes.
  • Studio Hop: At first the North American home media rights were handled by Bandai Entertainment. Then, shortly after it went out of business, the rights were picked up by Sentai Filmworks.
