  • Colin overcome with exhaustion and fear from surviving the dark latex monster's terrority, sobs while eating oranges, as he thinks of his former-life and friends.
  • When Doctor K exposes Puro's original plan to assimilate the human upon entry to the Library, the wolf longing for companionship is ashamed. Begging forgiveness, the monster vows to be like a Papa Wolf for Colin, pleading he trusts him. Even on a Betrayed ending playthrough the youth cannot bring himself to say no.
  • Puro is excited when Colin finally arrives to his home, asking Colin to sit with him. Should the human comply, the dark latex wolf confirms he's a Motor Mouth because he is desperately lonely. The notes left throughout the building urging the player to find him contain increasing anxiety and fear, worrying the human wouldn't like him when he arrives at the Library. The lone wolf was originally happy to forsake the Hive Mind of goo monsters to learn about humanity, but since they had in-turn rejected him, he can't ever go back. Puro's Horror Hunger has come into conflict by a deeper need to have a companion. The latex beast fears they won't be strong enough to survive without each other, and he tears up while confessing this to Colin.
    • By declining the heart-to-heart talk with Puro on his bed, you can glimpse him crying in his den. Serves as a You Bastard! moment that yanks on your heart strings, easily leading you down the path of the Betrayed ending. He'll ask the human afterward why he ran away, and whether or not he did something wrong.
  • While the death transformation screens are a game within themselves, it can also be a Downer Ending whenever you see Puro tearing up mourning his human friend is gone.
  • If Colin gets swallowed up by The Behemoth just as Puro arrives via the vents, he'll give a sorrowful Little "No" as he realizes he was too late to save the young man.
  • In the flooded generator rooms there's an Apocalyptic Log written by a man who partook in the riots because he was desperate for a vaccine for his family against the Pale Virus. Misinformation spread they had one that only the rich were entitled to. All they ended up doing was unleashing the latex experiments from containment. Bitten and slowly transforming into a creature, he can only express regret of not knowing whether his family were transfurred or succumbed to the pandemic.
  • Colin can wake up but refuse to cuddle with Puro for warmth and protection. The latex wolf pretends to be teary-eyed up from sleepiness, and not your rejection.
  • Puro crying if Colin should get assimilated by the attacking Squid Pups in the aquatic area, sobbing "It's all my fault".
  • Being an Ungrateful Bastard and not thanking Puro for saving you from the Squid Pup pirates causes the wolf to grieve. Doctor K again tries to turn the goo beast against the escaping human. The Doctor warns Puro he can't allow Colin to leave, or he will die without a host. Puro weeps as he's forced to choose between friendship or freedom, when he desired both with the young man.
  • Colin goes into denial and begins to lose all hope, when the generator computer tells him the facility has been off-grid for five years. He realizes there's nothing left of his former life, family or friends.
  • One of the bad endings has Puro, your only friend, give in to his instincts to assimilate or transfur you.
    • Puro bawls his eyes out in the No Trust ending. And the kicker is K berates Colin if they choose to trust him over the monster in the Special Edition, before trapping them in the white latex jungle. The doctor informs him he's a massive disappointment, and the dark latex wolf, once the biggest thorn in their side is now too heartbroken to come to the human's rescue.
    • Puro reuniting with what was formerly the human, hugging him and begging this time he trusts the dark latex wolf who in turn promises to look after him and teach him how to talk again.
  • From this point onwards, the game over 'transfurs' now hit much harder in the Special Edition, than the vanilla game. You've gone to great lengths to befriend your wolf partner, who is confused and frightened by your sudden disappearance whenever a monster abducts you.
  • After escaping Feng Yu, Puro howls after you like a real wolf, giving you a huge hug relieved you're okay. The dark-latex monster vows to do better in protecting you, then sobs he can't afford to lose you again.
  • Should you keep Tempting Fate and try to return to the White Latex Jungle, you will become assimilated. As the Grey Goo mass drags you under, and you become one with the Behemoths in their Hive Mind, your sole regret is leaving Puro alone, who will be soon searching for you in vain.
  • In the Capture ending if the player befriends but doesn't take enough care of Puro, he essentially dies. The wolf fights with Doctor K, but his mask gets destroyed resetting his regeneration cycle. Colin arrives and breaks down in front of the spreading goo puddle that was his Only Friend. The young man is forcibly changed via an experimental mutagen and put under mind control by the scientist.
  • If you choose to stay at the building lobby, you practically feel the heartbreak coming from Puro as he calls you out for not keeping your promise to see the outside world with him. As he leaves the building without you, it is all but implied that he will fall apart soon without a host, making your promise to meet him after being cured impossible to fulfil.
  • Choosing to leave has Doc K lament everything he ever did to stop the Pale Virus was All for Nothing before returning to his office in defeat. Puro is overjoyed as they exit the tower complex together, but soon becomes anxious Colin is looking increasingly sickly. They watch the sunrise together. Colin dies in Puro's arms. Puro loved him so much he refuses to assimilate him, meaning they're both goners. The Steam achievement shows a grave with a cross - the wolf buried his Only Friend, and The Plague has probably been reintroduced to the world, plaguing humanity further.
