Puro is seen as a Hot Librarian / Cute Bookworm by the other latexes

Quite a few of the female 'transfurs' in the game seem to find Puro attractive enough to flirt with, when his only real difference from other dark latex wolves is his intelligence and reading hobby.

    Special Edition-specific

Dr. K cuts off contact in the Bad Endings because he has no more use for Colin and Puro

Dr. K only starts activating traps to stop Colin from progressing so that The Plague won't spread outside, and only makes Puro doubt his friendship with Colin so that the former will assimilate the latter and thus The Plague still won't spread. In all four of the Bad Endings, Colin gets assimilated or 'transfurred' and thus is no longer a human capable of spreading The Plague. Thus, K has no more reason to interact with either.

The majority of the light-latexes inside the Behemoth are 'transfurred' humans

For being a creature made up of mindless animals, it acts quite intelligent, using its full body and learning quickly to get rid of Prototype, with this intelligence likely coming from former humansnote . The Behemoth also had blue human-like eyes in pre-release footage, whereas every other light-latex has simple white cat-like pupils.
  • I don't think so, and I wouldn't know what to think of it. It's more likely for the "hyena cubs" in Mother Yeen's residence to have been former humans who all lost to her, and since they don't have different eye colors it'd be safe to say Those Guys Are Dead. DragonSnow may have just not been thinking right back when he once opted to shade the Behemoth. -BreakinBenny

The world elites will betray Dr. K

The doctor keeps in regular contact with the remnants of the world's ultra-rich and governments, hiding out in their bunker. He hopes they'll rebuild society after the Pale Virus is confirmed to be extinct in the wild. That is the original plan, but if K allows Puro and Colin to be spared, they'll turn on him and attempt to destroy the facility.
  • Why would those elites want the facility gone if we obtained the best possible ending? Out of paranoia? Maybe. Because they think Colin (who is now just like K) and Puro are freaks? Maybe. -BreakinBenny
  • By joining the protagonists, Dr. K has become a Defector from Decadence. He has control of the entire complex, and has proven himself to his superiors as not just a liability, but a threat in disobeying direct orders. A threat they cannot tolerate and need to exterminate Colin if K or none of the now-befriended beasts will.

Tail fights because it's out for revenge

The beast isn't just behaving like a feral wild monster, it's going out of its way to hunt down and consume every single guard. Even ignoring Colin in stasis to chase them down. Thunder Science were abducting humans to be unwilling test subjects in the Genetic Project. Like the Goo Deer, it holds a massive grudge against those it perceives as having wronged it, and desires to get even.

The Benign Latex shorts will wake up

At several points in the deluxe version of the game, cutscenes and dialogue draw attention to the Living Clothes Colin wears. The machine scanners even detecting it, much to Puro's confusion. At some point, the dormant latex will awaken.
  • It may befriend Colin, and possibly grow into a full set of clothes for him to wear outdoors so the young man doesn't freeze to death (the alternative is asking Puro to shed gooey residue for him, but that's unconventional as it is impractical)
  • It may become hostile, if a possessive Papa Wolf Puro convinces Colin to abandon it, for fear it will assimilate him like No.25 would.

The world elites will all be transfurred

In the institute's lobby, there's a latex trail that indicates the latex beasts, who have already begun to form their own ecosystems, and spread across the planet After the End, will find the last refuge of humanity and assimilate them all.

Dr K. is secretly afraid of the latex monsters

He's 'transfurred' himself with the K batch of latex goo, and the animals just aren't interested in chasing him. They ignore him. But what if he ever did unintentionally excite the curiosity of a beast? Or accidentally bumped into one at speed? A transfur fusion would happen - and he'd lose his individuality forever. K hides himself away as a precaution and is afraid to study the creatures up close.
  • Jossed with Puro. The dark latex wolf tries to assimilate him to rescue Colin, but fails to, as the doctor is immune to being transfurred again, thanks to the K Mutagen.
  • There's also the possibility that at least one of the white latex will notice K isn't like them. Black latex will view him as an intruder, whereas the variegated ones might be fooled at first if he manages to blend in. To Doctor K, being all alone makes this a suicide mission. -BreakinBenny

The Pale Virus pandemic is a Cover-up

They didn't accidentally unearth an ancient deadly virus, it was a Government-Exploited Crisis. Thunder Science was running tests on latex creatures, of nanoscopic size. They proved impossible to contain, and escaped. The tiny latex organisms were incompatible at achieving full-fusion with the hosts they had infected. Instead of becoming latex beasts, their hosts (humans) began to die. Nothing could stop this thing as it spread. This is why they turned to the goo latex all of things for salvation, knowing their unsolvable problem could only be solved by it. It would be a massive scandal if word got out this was the government's fault as they scrambled to develop assimilation processes that wouldn't kill the host. Unfortunately, on the day of the riots, the people did find out.
