An achievement in the Steam version of Ys II uses an icon graphic styled to look like an 8-bit era text box. The text within reads "Fortune smiles upon thee!".

An achievement for beating the game is "Dragon Warrior's Quest 'nixed", a multi-faceted reference to Dragon Quest, originally known as Dragon Warrior in North America, and developed by Enix, which is now part of Square Enix.
The achievement for walking 300 krimelye is "I Would Walk 300 Krimelye", while acquiring and recording all items for the materials section of the journal is "Material Girl".
During Chapter 8, in a conversation between where Yufa hands Silhouette a potato, she ends up mashing it due to her strength. Silhouette says they're "...versatile that way! Boil them, mash them, stick them in a stew..."
