Shout Out / Invader Zim (Oni)

• In Issue 4, one of the things that Zim has to do to "charge the weapon" is to ride it as it falls through the air while wearing a cowboy hat.
• Issue 5 of the comic series goes into almost Reference Overdosed territory with its shout outs to various video games, starting with the title "The Humble Bundle of Horrors" and continuing with:
  • An unnamed Minecraft parody
  • The Binding of Bleep Bloop
  • Soldier of Doody 25
  • Dank Souls
  • Bloatyo Kart 9
  • Puzhole
  • Critter Debt Simulator
  • Angry Turds
  • Meat Gear Solid 13 (with Dib as "Big Burger")
• In Issue 8, the space pants hatch from what look like either Xenomorph eggs or body snatcher pods. And speaking of the latter, when Dib is first being chased through the skool by the pants-possessed, in one panel a man who looks like Donald Sutherland's character in the 70s version points at him and screeches, a iconic action of the aliens in that movie.
• When Zim declares himself the new Burrito King in Issue 18, he demands the first of his new "minions" kiss his (burrito) ring.
  • When the real Burrito King comes back to reclaim his restaurant, he now has the power to control beans, with his followers calling him "the last beanbender" (though he specifically says that they're not copying that). And then the last page of the comic shows a poster for a movie adaptation of his adventures directed by M. Nob Shoobadoo, whose lead looks nothing like the original character.
• The title of Issue 21's story is "Merciless Monday", which is a clear reference to Freaky Friday, which the issue's story is based on.
  • At one point in the same issue, Dib hallucinates a group of mini-GIRs asking him to "come play with us forever".
  • The mind-swapping device is called the "Bizmarkian Mind Swapper," an obvious reference to Biz Markie.
• Vinny appears in the background of a panel in Issue 36.
• Zim's plan is Issue 37 is clearly based on The Matrix.
• In Issue 50, both Zim and Dib refer to the former's portal as a Stargate.
