KinnPorsche: The Series is a 2022 Thai action romance drama television series. It is based on a web novel of the same name by writing duo Daemi. Phakphum Romsaithong (Mile) and Nattawin Wattanagitiphat (Apo) star as Kinn and Porsche respectively. Porsche, a bartender and underground fighter in desperate need of money, agrees to become the bodyguard of Kinn, the second son and heir of a crime family. As they get to know each other, a bond forms and feelings grow. However, things are not always as they seem and conflict slowly brews - conflict that could bring about many revelations.

KinnPorsche: The Series contains examples of the following tropes:

  • After Action Patch Up: In Episode 3, Kinn comes to help Porsche clean his bullet wound after he got injured protecting Kinn.
  • Alliterative Family: Korn, Khun, Kinn and Kim. Gun's name is also occasionally spelled Kan.
  • All Work vs. All Play: Kinn and Tankhun initially have this dynamic. It disappears later on, though, once Kinn loosens up thanks to his relationship with Porsche and Tankhun is shown contributing to family meetings.
  • Ambiguously Absent Parent: Unlike in the novels, the series doesn't give any explanation as to why Korn's and Gun's wives aren't around.
  • Badass in Distress: Pretty much every distressed character in the show is this, with the exception of Chay.
  • Becoming the Mask: Kim pretends to be interested in Porchay in order to find out information about Porsche; eventually, he falls in love with him.
  • Big Fancy House: Porsche and Porchay's parent's were very wealthy, and the three-storey-house is the only thing the brothers have left of them.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The rivalry between the major and minor families is over, and two out of the three main couples are togethes as of the end of the season. However, Kinn and Porsche are still stuck in the mafia world, under Korn's thumb. Chay is still heartbroken, and has temporarily ruined his chances to get into university. Lastly, it is unknown whether Namphueng will ever get her memory back, or if Porsche and Porchay have to continue to deal with their mother having no idea who they are.
  • Bodyguard Crush: The basic premise of the show is a romantic relationship between Kinn and his bodyguard Porsche.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Porsche might be tasked with protecting Kinn, but he can still more than hold his own in a fight.
  • Bookends: The series starts with Kinn walking out of the compound to his car, alone, and one of the last scenes is him doing the same, only this time he's surrounded with people he loves.
  • Cast Full of Gay: None of the main characters are straight, and there are also several gay side characters.
  • Chained Heat: Kinn and Porsche spend Episode 6 handcuffed together lost in the wilderness after escaping a kidnapping attempt.
  • Death Faked for You: Presumably what happened to Namphueng. We don’t see much of her, but she doesn’t seem to have had much of a choice in the matter.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: Based on what we see in flashbacks, Porsche and Porchay's parents were very caring.
  • Did Not Die That Way: It's revealed that Porsche and Porchay's father was shot, and their mother isn't dead in the first place, despite Arthee claiming they died in a car accident.
  • Double In-Law Marriage: Neither of the couples are married, but Porsche and Porchay both started relationships with different Theerapanyakul brothers without knowing about each other's love lives.
  • Duet Bonding: Kim and Chay do this in Episode 5 while Kim is helping Chay with his upcoming university application.
  • Entertainingly Wrong:
    • Before finding out about Kinn and Porsche's relationship, Pete attributes all suspicious behavior to Porsche being punished. This includes red marks on his neck and somehow being in Kinn's room before breakfast.
    • When Kinn is trying to get Porsche freed from bodyguard duty, Korn and Tankhun come up with some very incorrect reasons for that.
Korn: Is [Porsche] trying to betray us?
Tankhun: Right, or does he get on your nerves?
Korn: Or did he make another mistake?
Tankhun: Or do you hate him?
Korn: Right, but why would that matter?
      Tankhun: Or does he stink?
Korn: Or he's afraid of dying all of a sudden?
Tankhun: Yeah, what is it Kinn, huh?
      Korn: Huh?
      Kinn: I... I love him. That's all.
  • The First Cut Is the Deepest: Kinn's distant attitude to relationships is a result of Tawan, his ex-boyfriend, betraying him.
  • First Love: Kinn is the first person Porsche has been interested in outside of sex. Interestingly, he feels more anxious about that than the fact that he's in love with a man.
  • Frame-Up: Tawan tries to frame Porsche as the mole.
  • Groin Attack: Porsche does this to Kinn when they're fighing in the first episode.
  • Instant Mystery, Just Delete Scene: As of the end of Season 1, it's still unknown why Kim was called to his father's office in Episode 13.
  • Internal Reveal: Other characters, a few at a time, finding out about Kinn and Porsche's relationship.
    • Porchay finding out about Porsche's job and Kim's identity.
  • Kissing Under the Influence: Porsche and Kinn's first kiss and first two times having sex is this.
  • Mob War: Aside from relationship troubles, the main plot of the series revolves aound the major and minor families' rivalry, as well as conflict with the Italian Mafia.
  • Mood Whiplash: In Episide 11, the mood quickly shifts between melancholy, heartbreaking and romantic/sexy, due to the scenes with Pete telling Vegas about his past, Chay getting his heart broken by Kim and Kinn and Porsche enjoying a helicopter ride together taking place consecutively.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: Given that it's a show about mafia families, this is the case in several situations throughout the series.
  • Once More, with Clarity: We see the scene of Porsche and Porchay's parents dying three times. First, from the perspective of a young Porsche from behind a cupboard door, second as told by Korn, and finally as told by Gun.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Most characters are mainly called by nicknames, as is customary in Thailand. Porchay deserves a special mention for mainly being called Chay, which is a nickname based on what is already a nickname.
  • Outlaw Couple: What Kinn and Porsche become at the end of the series, after Porsche becomes the head of the minor family.
  • Plot Armor: Minor characters often die after they've been shot once. Vegas gets shot several times in the stomach (which usually leads to a slow and painful death), yet somehow survives.
  • Product Placement: Several, but most notably the Farmhouse bread.
Porsche: [Holding up the bread Kinn brought over] Does Farmhouse have this flavor?
Kinn: Yeah. Are you going to eat it first... or smooch me first?
    Porsche: [Eats the bread]
  • Romantic Ride Sharing: Vegas tries to invoke this trope when he lets Porsche ride his motorbike in one of his attempts to seduce Porsche.
  • Secret Relationship: After their Relationship Upgrade, Kinn and Porsche have a very unsubtle one of these. Somehow only Arm and Korn notice, though.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Kinn and Kim both want to be musicians, although Kinn had to abandon his dream due to becoming the family's heir after Tankhun's kidnapping.
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: At the end of Episode 10, Kinn and Porsche are arguing over who should apologize to the other. After some back-and-forth, Kinn grabs Porsche by the collar and kisses him. Porsche shoves Kinn away, glares at him, and proceeds to pull Kinn back into another kiss.
  • Time Skip: The last few scenes of the series takes place after a one-month time skip.
  • Variations on a Theme Song: There are several different instrumental versions of the Theme Tune that are played throughout the series.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: In the beginning of episode 4, Porsche has forgotten about kissing Kinn, and just has a vague memory of kissing someone by the water.
